  1. Dougie was contracted to Montesa until 31/12/2007. As of today, 01/01/2008 he is now contracted to Beta. However anyone with any common sense will know that neither him, nor Beta will be taking the time out to do a photoshoot on New Years Day, let alone have his press machine do releases. This is a ridiculous topic.
  2. Video coverage has now been added to the front page article
  3. He knew nothing about it till I emailed him Friday night - then he told me I was "nuts" However, he has no choice as Sandifords have been paid so, nuts or not he either spends it or Caroline keeps it!
  4. Since not everybody reads the front page, it is all explained here - and yes. A very worthy winner. The question now remains as to who will take up the challenge for 2008...

    Scottish Six Days

We have a cunning masterplan for Jake. It's roughly based on the old trick of dangling a carrot in front of a donkey. We are to attach a fishing rod to his helmet and dangle a pie in front of him. We are convinced this will make him faster across the moors than any man in SSDT history
  6. Engine mappings. They can change them on the fly.

what makes you so certain Dougie is going to win when the name JAKE MILLER is on the list?
  8. I will have photos online shortly. They're uploading now, but video takes a lot more time to edit down. I wouldn't expect that till tomorrow at the absolute earliest.
  9. I'll try, but nobody will ever beat the Belfast Indoor for quality of scorecard girls
  10. Once again, Trials Central will be there so expect extensive coverage of this event with shedloads of photos on Sunday and with no restrictions on videoing as it is not a World Championship event, we will once more be bringing tons of video coverage (TC Supporters only) Last year we published over an hour of video coverage from this event
  11. Not going to happen for the same reason we don't have areas of the forums dedicated to practice areas. Those sorts of things are best kept quiet or they fast become abused.
  12. I AM lightened up! You're not about to get banned. This is absolutely not that kind of Forum and never has been. I can probably count the people who have been permanently banned in the past four years on less than two hands (if we leave Lane's aliases out of things...) and I get the p*** taken out of me by regulars as much as anybody. You have now clarified things. You didn't actually ask on here and took what you read on an Internet Forum as good advice without digging into your own personal position. What might suit another might not suit you - physique, experience, location and type of sections you might ride etc etc. If you're happy then fine, but fully expect others to take the p***. If you read a Forum that said it's great to touch goats would you do it?
  13. Why you asking me? You want something fun, I can recommend Spearmint Rhino and Crazy Horse Too in Vegas
  14. I didn't build either of them. Andrea did.
  15. I know you're only kidding as I know your sense of humour! John helps pay for Trials Central, Jake gets me to the world rounds. I actually think it's great we all work together for the good of the sport. It's something you may well see more of.
  16. Barry - thanks for bringing this back up to the top again - I knew there was a topic somewhere I meant to reply to, but couldn't think what the hell it was! Right - Regional Forums are an absolute possibility, but I would not create them unless I thought they would be used. They needn't necessarily add to the front page Forum index list (which is long enough as it is IMO) as they could be created as "sub-forums" of the UK section (or same for US section if there was enough interest). Basically click on, for example, UK Trials talk and you'd then be presented with a general trials talk forum and sub-forums detailing regions. The other issue is people tend not to look at the forum list and just post everything and anything in General Trials Talk. I am moving topics several times daily to the correct Forum e.g. UK-specific stuff belongs in UK Trials Talk. I suspect the same would happen with sub-forums for regions. Everybody would just post in UK Trials Talk. I can do what you ask, but would need to see a fair amount of support to set it up.

    Thanks Doug

Are you going to Bangor then given it's your neck of the woods? I'm sure I could arrange a signed photo of you with Dougie
  18. Beta UK are actually a sponsor of Trials Central - and a very generous one at that. I agreed with John that I wouldn't put his Ads up until he got his website re-done so it's his trumpet I'm blowing for finally pulling the finger out. I've only been telling him the website was **** for the past two years
  19. Beta UK have had a makeover Soooo much better than the previous website
  20. I have plenty! I'm just very protective of TC and don't like seeing people blame it or its users for things they're not guilty of!
  21. I've no reason to snipe and certainly no reason to point score. I own the site - what could I possibly have to gain? My concerns arise from you stating you got bad or incorrect advice on this website. "I was completely new to trials before i bought a Montesa 4RT on the recommendations of owner and people on this site about a year ago." I cannot find any topic or post where you sought the advice of Trials Central users regarding your choice of bike. You joined these forums on January 22nd 2007 and made your first post on January 23rd 2007 stating "Just bought a new (well new to me) 4RT." The advice given on this site is, in my extensive experience, pretty damned good and is given freely by a friendly and knowledegable community - particularly when it comes to newcomers to the sport as everyone wants to encourage newcomers. By saying you got bad or incorrect advice on Trials Central when it appears you never even asked, understandably, annoys me.
  22. Having run this site for 4 years now, every time I have seen anyone ask for guidance as to which bike, the advice has been to try as many as possible and see what suits the individual. I'm afraid you've nobody to blame, but yourself for not doing so.
  23. I've not heard anything and have no insider info to offer, but Dougie + Beta 2-stroke = tried and tested winning forumula. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Just my opinion.
