    Lane's Apology

Running a busy Forum is a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" position. You can never, ever please everybody. Suffice to say Lane was given his opportunity to justify his position and back up what he said with fact and he failed to do so. As a result he was banned and that position is not going to change. I am happy to expand the US section of the Forums to meet demand from the US Community following the shutdown of the Trialscomp Forums, but only if there is demand. Either way, regardless of what I do the Trials Central Forums will not include contributions from Lane Leavitt. Debate it from now till Doomsday if you want, but it ain't going to change!
  3. You don't need to use a different email address, but it is not integrated with the forums and does require seperate registration - same email address if you want, but hotmail etc will flag the validation email as spam so check spam folders.
  4. To clarify something. As part of their sponsorship of Trials Central, sponsors are told at the outset and actively encouraged to provide news, reports, details of new products, special offers etc. Shirty is the only one that's really embraced this and probably gets more value for money than any of the others by doing so. I do wish the other sponsors would do likewise. Perhaps then it wouldn't look so one-sided. I think Shirty's post-event reports are a good thing for the riders for a couple of reasons. Firstly it's a nice wee boost for them to get a little bit of recognition - he even mentions them when they might not have had such a good ride and is always encouraging and secondly these guys are all seeking sponsors - the more their name is spread about the better. The only thing that REALLY pee's me off is his insistence that "well done" is one bloody word (ie welldone) and I have to go through correcting!!! ARRRGHHHHHHH!!!!!!! PS. Spud. Out of order. Post edited.
  5. This topic was reported with requests for it to be deleted. I've read it and say, no. It's not going to be deleted. Mr. 4ourtea - in your 21 months of membership of these Forums you have managed a whole 20 posts. That's less than one a month. Hardly what you'd call a valued contribution to the Forums don't you think? you clearly don't spend much time reading the stories as there has been a Gas Gas UK report under the sub-title "Shirty's say..." on all major UK events, Brit rounds etc for months now, if not years. John Shirt and Gas Gas UK have contributed many hundreds of pounds towards the running costs of this site and continue to do so. Gas Gas UK were one of the first to help support this site in the early days when I was struggling to make ends meet with the costs. Your contribution is
  6. It's going to have to be some kind of special beer to beat Al B's mountain firewater! Speaking of which - where is Al these days? Not seen him around for ages.
  7. I wasn't sure if I was going to do USA next year, but found out today I'm in Vegas for a conference from 22nd to 25th April so this fits in perfectly

Never mind that - I'm just stunned that Dabster has a friend
  9. As much as it pains me to admit it given that Twiggy is claiming credit for the Cricket Club idea... It is several hundred times better than the Kings Head. Cold beer Enough beer Good prices Fast Service Enough staff Staff who actually seem happy to have you there rather than you being a burden on them Could do a wee bit with regards to the layout so everybody doesn't congregate in that one area up the back - more tables/chairs in the centre further down. Not a criticism though as it was the first year. It was so much better there and I know I'm not the only one to think that - not by a long shot. Get it booked for next year NOW!
  10. Very well done guys. I've stuck this story up on the front page along with a couple of pics. Unfortunately none of Grant as I too only saw him at the finish field
  11. Special mention must go to this group of people who work tirelessly to ensure the event runs smoothly. Then there's Perce...
  12. Okay - which one of you asked the question "have you ever thought of being a male model." ???? My money's on either AtomAnt or bikespace

    Lane's Apology

The phrase "Cold day in hell" springs to mind. If you don't like it, don't visit. Trials Comp have Forums for you US guys - or is he still banned from them too?
  14. This is the sort of crap that Trials is well known for. "If we don't know something we'll just make it up. The more ludicrous the better". More fool you if you believe it.
  15. I thought you had an entries secretary these days to do the menial work whilst you sat back with your Pimms Glad you found Eilidh a job though. Keep her out of the bar for a while
  16. Oh yeah - rub it in what a great time was had. France last year was a bit pants on the social side of things However, we gave Mr McRae a right good send-off yesterday. 134 Imprezas (and one Forester!) in convoy up through the Lanark valley with the full blessing of Strathclyde Police who gave us a police escort and stopped all other traffic for us to get through. A very emotional day, but a very good service with the right mix of sadness and humour.
  17. Somebody has sent me a 15MB email that is backing up all the TdN stuff from coming in
  18. Jake will send pics over and, of course, there will be reports and results. There just won't be the level of photo or video coverage there normally is from world events.
  19. I will not be attending this year's Trial des Nations so Trials Central coverage of this event will not be what you might expect. It was originally in my plans to go, but recent events have me feeling there are places I'd rather be this weekend. As you all undoubtedly know, we lost Colin McRae last weekend. As a Scotsman, a motorsport fan and a Committee member of the UK Subaru Impreza Drivers Club, this came as a massive shock. We lost one of the greatest ambassadors this small country has ever had and the man who, without doubt, put the Subaru marque on the map with his famous World Rally Championship win in 1995 (and was also a bloody good Trials rider...) . I know for a fact, if it weren't for him and what he achieved, I wouldn't be driving an Impreza today today and know many others, equally as shocked, who feel the same. On Saturday I will be taking a friend and his young lad to the Colin McRae Rally hosted by Coltness Car Club in Perthshire. On Sunday, myself and what is currently running at 70+ (and growing) Imprezas of the Subaru Impreza Drivers Club will be travelling in slow convoy to Lanark for the celebration service of the lives of Colin and his son Johnny to pay our respects. I'd love to be in Douglas this weekend, but this time something more important has come along.

PM Cota Kid - he's got one fitted. Surprised he's not jumped on this topic yet. Must have been arrested again
