Very disappointing the donations to this so far when you consider what these guys do for the sport year after year and what Lochaber Mountain Rescue does not only for the SSDT, but all year round. I know we've a large Yorkshire contingent hereabouts so expect to have to get the crowbars in about the wallets, but c'mon guys. Dig deep.
I'm moving this topic to General to get more coverage.

I was in the third car. An appeal was put out late last night on the SIDC Forums. Despite lack of time 20-odd Imprezas turned up at Lanark Mart at lunchtime. Due to lack of parking at the entrance of the estate we only took about 8 cars down there. Very poignant, but loads of hassle from the press.
RIP Colin.

News coming in from the Rallying word is that Colin is gone.
Totally gutted.
-
He was Scottish Junior Champion.
This is a very hot topic on the Subaru websites at the moment. I pray it's not him, but being realistic would have to assume the worst

Can't have the tightest man in Trials donating and me not! Sorted!

This topic, whilst posted innocently has caused more than a bit of concern. New topics posted here also get posted in the "latest forum topics" on the front page of Trials Central. "SSDT Cancelled" has caused some panic. OTH - over to you
-
This was posted on another forum I use and I can't believe somebody replied "Good song. what is it?" Am I getting old?
-
Oooh - where to begin...
Your initial news application was not received. Having just checked it would appear problems with the email config have meant this has not been working since I migrated the site. That has now been rectified.
Yes, I received both your PM's, but then I get a lot of PM's. In the grand scheme of things, an application to post news is not at the top of my to-do list.
Do I take on too much? Yes. Absolutely and I'll be the first to admit it, but I'm very fussy about how things are done and how they're presented so delegation is not an option.
Please re-submit your application for front page access now it's working.
And now onto Billy.
I replied to you ages ago saying I was thinking about the advertising thing. It would be a complete break from the normal advertisers and I'm not sure what kind of uptake you'd get and whether it would even be worth your while. Things move quickly especially once the world season kicks off and it was forgotten about.
Finally - please don't start topics trying to get my attention. If you send a PM I'll have it and, if neccessary, will respond as and when I have time.
PS. Kinell - <insert Perce's favourite quote from Blazing Saddles here>

Oh bollocks. It's in bloody French. Babelfish Translation:
? New adjustment of the fork. The optimization of the oil flow makes the fork more sensitive to the absorption of the asperities, it is thus more reactive with the bounce to facilitate the lifting man
?uvres or the simple movements of the nose gear wheel.
? New adjustment of the shock absorber dedicated to adapt to the conditions of control and the distribution of the engine 4T.
? New electric gasoline tap: More practical, it proposes a better accessibility with mechanics and an increased reliability to you
? New pommel "hot start" integrated into the connection of the carburettor: direct and of an easy accessibility, it makes more practical the warm start of the engine. Moreover, it is less cumbersome and less prone to the shocks compared to the preceding version (small lever on the handlebar).
? New casings moulded under pressure: they can be prided on a design optimized in the lower zone
? New lid of clutch with fixing with the 5 screws for best held. New position of the stopper of the return of oil: access facilitated to improve the man
?uvres of maintenance? New design of the lid of clutch with system of side throats to facilitate the extraction of the clutch: more practical for maintenance
? New tailpipe to reduced thickness (1 mm): Better output in acceleration associated with a consequent reduction of weight (-150 G)? Euro3. homologation
? New graphics and colour in black and red fluo.
But you all want to see the pic:

Relax guys. It'll be on the front page imminently

It would definitely be worth sharing the tactics used by the Club to gain rare approval. It may benefit others going through similar processes.
-
Blimey - you're not actually turning up at an event are you?
-
Friday 28th - Ladies World Championship
Saturday 29th - Ladies TdN
Sunday 30th Mens TdN
Don't know start times.
-
I'm thinking of coming down to cover this event. Not done nearly enough events in the UK this year.
-
I'm going to lock this topic. It's not censorship, but I know John well enough to know he wouldn't ask or even beg for discussion on this to stop without good reason. I'm going to go with his judgement on this.

Jake and I went shopping on Saturday in Andorra. Went into one electrical shop and was asked by the guy what the passes were round our necks. We just said "Trial". The guy said "Ahhhhhh - Lampkin!" Not Raga, Bou or anybody else, but Lampkin. I get that everywhere I go when I try and explain what my website is about to folk who don't know. The name is synonymous with Trials and to lose him before he's ready to retire would be a serious blow and a sad loss to the sport.
We just have to wait and see what happens over the next few weeks.
-
In fact, this just posted, answers your question straight from the horses mouth.
-
Haven't you heard? Xispa factory rider next year.
Being realistic - nobody can answer that right now. As with every other rider out there, contracts are being discussed. I'm sure we'll find out in due course.
-
Okay, the reason.
There were local elections in the area which meant a change of management at Spa. This led to the cancellation. I don't know all the ins and outs, but believe the club did not even notify the FIM. A third party picked up on an announcement in the local press and contacted the FIM
-
You won't get an explanation. At least not an official one. I have my thoughts on what it might be, but that's just speculation on my part.
-
I wouldn't complain about that. The circuit is awesome, but I've said for ages there's far too much man-made stuff in Belgium. Bring back Germany. It was a bit of a one-horse town, but Gefrees was a great round (nothing to do with that mahoosive beer tent they had, honest!)
-
Go tour the Battle of the Bulge places. Bastogne, Malmedy etc. That's what I'd do, but not everybody's cup of tea!
-
Yes, I can imagine that word was used several times when he heard the news...
