  1. Hi, I took quite a few and sent them to Andy to publish. I think he was waiting for a bit of a write up to go with them. Andy, any chance you could publish them anyway? For me the whole experience was encellent. I think we would do the sport a great deal of good if we could bring trials to the masses more often. It would enlighten people on exactly what trials is all about and may even then reduce negative feelings people have to it.
  2. Yeah, I watched the first lap and was puzzled by all the hanging around esp by the Championship riders. Rumour had it they couldn't start each section till the film crew arrived ????
  3. Have you thought about a block subscription to cut down on shipping across the pond ?
  4. Hi Heath, yeah I've tried contacting them in the past with no joy. It really would be good if the programmes were made downloadable. I guess it would have to be quite a while after the programmes were aired otherwise people would download rather than watching which would impact their revenue from Sky etc. Andy, what do you think of TC (representing however many members we have) formally contacting them ?
  5. We ride at BUMPY in West Yorkshire .... www.bumpy.org.uk I don't know everything about it but if you're serious then the model they use is certainly worth looking into. It's a charity organisation and I think the council own the land. Their main objective is to provide riding mainly for kids (but doesn't exclude adults) - - school trips for those not doing well at school - wanting to learn about mechanicing, riding, etc. - community organisations trying to give the kids a direction in life - somewhere safe and legal to ride for those fortunate enough to have a bike but nowhere other than the streets to ride it on. They are funded as a charity with some revenue from public riders (such as me) and some revenue by running on-road training for adults wanting to pass their test. Hope this helps.

    Exhaust Packing

Yeah, I agree with Barry. I bought a sheet of the stuff, cost around a fiver - you should be able to get it from all bike shops doing off-road. If I remember right it took me far longer to get the old stuff out and clean up the gunk that to repack it with new. Took maybe 20mins to to repack it, Wrap the packing around the baffle, tie it with some wire with ends twisted together and stuff the whole lot back in. Sounds smoother, quieter and should run better.
  7. ... and the repeat is on 5th October at 16:00 (3:00pm UK time) on ES2 Well I guess that concludes this service for 2006 I'll return in the spring with lots of brand new nuggets of information!!!
  8. Round 10 Belgium on 4th October at 18:30 (5:30pm UK time) on ES2 I'll keep my eyes open for the repeat. This might be the last time we see Bou hopping his Beta around !!!
  9. I buy and sell quite a lot on eBay, but agree wholeheartedly that you need to be careful. Do as much homework as you can, look at the feedback, read it all and where you can look at what they have bought and sold in the past. Listen to your nerves, if they're twitching then walk away. When buying use Paypal - I've had problems with items not arriving and easily got a full refund from Paypal. I find eBay really useful for turning unwanted stuff into cash. We're moving house and all the stuff I would have taken to the skip has just been turned into about
  10. Hi, I haven't managed to follow this whole saga and applogise if I'm speaking out of turn. Has anyone tried discussing the situation with the disgruntled resident. Understanding their grievance and enlightening them may lead to a better solution than simply going to war.
  11. I called Sheffield Arena Box Office (0114 256 5656) on the day the tickets went on sale - I looked at booking them online but there seems to be little choice on seats and the fee seems much higher. When booking via box office I could discuss the exact seats and choose what I wanted, paid face value plus about
  12. Right, come on ..... Ideas on how Andy 'might' have instigated an international incident with a firm but mildly moist sausage ?
  13. HAM2, thanks for the recommendation - I pushed for row A and got block 206. I had to smile tho, I've been to Sheffield quite a few times and have absolutely no idea where I sat never mind having favourite seats
  14. You're very welcome Barry. It's not much of a contribution to TrialsCentral but I spose every little bit helps.
  15. Andy, thanks very much for the offer of a lift but there seems to be much ado it. Clearly they all like your scooby and want ride, or is it the experience of your driving that they're after? Anyway, I'll probably have the lad with me so, if it's alright with you we might follow.
  16. Hi, I'm gonna try and get there. I knew nothing really about this until I just started digging .... 80 miles, 76 sections, 2.5hours ..... good grief !!!! Can anyone tell me exactly where it starts/finishes and where the best subs are for spectators ..... we really can't cover it ALL. Any info/help greatly appreciated.
  17. Thanks Sherco, I was neglecting my duties and needed a kick up the backside Round 9 Andora on 13th Sept at 18:30 (5:30pm UK time) on ES2 Repeated on 15th Sept at 19:30 (6:30pm UK time) on ES2
  18. Hi, I'm poised to book tickets for Sheffield. Can anyone recommend where the best seats are ? Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

  20. I have to say Stuart that was an absolute brainwave someone at BDMC had. The day was excellent!!!!!!! It allowed the crowds to get right up to the action and allowed your riders to show off. I was prticularly impressed with the younger riders who were clearly nervous performing in front of a crowd. I've got 40 or so pictures ... they're not all fantastic but hopefully they show what can be done in a small area. I'll see about getting them published on here somewhow. Glad the horses were away for the day otherwise they might have poo-poo'ed the idea of sharing their paddock with a load of bikers (most dressed in bright red costumes). Anyway, please pass on our congratulations for a great event and I hope other clubs can take a leaf out of your book and bring trials to the masses. What capped it off for me was hearing the old dears cheering on the younger riders as they fearlessly tackled those pretty daunting and tricky obstacles. Richard.
  21. I'll see what I can do. Stuart, what time are the Demos today ?
  22. I'm going with 14 Bird Spotting I caught him doing plenty of it at Hawkstone!!
  23. Thanks for that Stuart. We went to the exhibition on it's first or second day and really enjoyed it. The missus and I were wondering what to do tomorrow so we might all pop along to the display (it's only about 10mins drive).
  24. Phil, I seem to recall an article in TrialsWorld about suspension setup (but I don't have a copy). Does anyone else have a copy they could scan in for us ?
