As a couple of you have said whether a tyre would make that amount of difference for my level of riding I'm not sure.
Just checked Dave Renham's website (www.bultacouk.com) and as he stocks IRC's I might try one of these, as he's just round the corner I won't have to trek for miles or pay delivery costs.
I've had my 2000 290 for a couple of years now and no problems just usual maintenance cleaning the air filter, changing the oil etc.
I've had a new air filter and when I took the rear suspension linkage apart to clean it all I chewed up the swining arm bolt (soft aluminium) I think the bolt and nut was about a fiver and included postage.
I get my parts from BVM mail order www.bvm-moto.co.uk
Sherco's are very popular down here in the sunny south.
Wayne just want to say thanks for a great trial, really enjoyed it, are you going to publich the result on Trials Central, or could you email me the results?
I think progress has slowed down, I ride a 2000 Sherco and it's so much easier to ride than my old TY250(doesn't make me any better though ) , I had a go on my mates 2002 Sherco and the differences are very minor a few tweaks here and there and a better paint job.
I got it going last weekend after fitting new mains and seals.
I got in contact with Steve Goode who supplies spares for the 250 and 350 Italjets, the brake shoes are the same size and he also had cables and mudguards.
I've got the rest in bits at the moment and me and my son are busy cleaning and repainting it (not exactly concours but it'll look alot better).
We're trying to get it ready for a camping weekend my club has over the May day bank holiday weekend.
I'll put some more pictures up of it when its back together.
Just bought this Italjet 80 for my Son, it in a bit of a state but with new mudguards and lick of paint it should be OK.
Its about half way between a Ty80 and a full size bike.
The engine rumbled some what so I stripped it down, when I took off the exhaust there was about half a pint of oil in it! further inspection found the main bearings and seals are gone.
Ive been told Harglo-Performance have spares for them so I will try them on Monday.
Anyone know any other sources for spares for these or any info at all I they any good, can't seem to find much on the net other than one or two pictures.
