Iv just bought a 2013 300 ( previously had beta evo) and I'm looking for some helpful tips / hints about the bike .. maintenance ect ect . .
the formula brakes / clutch - are they any good or are they worth changing?
whats the bike like all round is there any faults or common issues I need to be aware of?
cheers in advance
Ian
Got a 2014 300 , speak to Chris at Splat ref carb settings - top comms and advice , did add a low compression head to mine but still got the fast throttle - makes it a lot nicer in the muddy snotty sections.
Oh and get a couple of spare braketec front brake master cylinders if it has em!!!! Plenty of links on the site for the cursed cross hole / burr dilemma!!
I had a look at the Ringwood website and is an option for us. Thanks also is there a chance for practice at these clubs?
Get on the Tigers Website and contact Jonathan Hayhurst or alternatively google Sandpits Farm at Lytchett any day of the year dawn till dusk for a tenner!
Bit of a strange post this, but whilst riding the Terry's Cup Trial in December last year I got chatting to a chap that I have seen regularly at road trials around the country but never chatted to. We got chatting about a road bike trip I have planned this summer and he had done similar routes taking in Grossglockner, Stelivio, and rode similar routes every year from what I gather. He recommended a tank museum to me, that has one of only 2 surviving certain model WW2 tanks in it. I can't remember what tank, where it was, or even which country it was. I am starting to plan some places to visit on the trip and would like to take a look if possible. I would recognise the guy but don't know his name unfortunately..
It's a bit of a long shot but was it you I was talking to, or do you know who I was talking to, or do you know the tank museum?
matts 4.jpgmatts throttles.jpgMade quite a few of these for guys locally - good reports back on em , I charged £25.00 if your interested, coupled with a jitsie roller wheel made for a very smooth throttle - unfortunately has not improved my skillz!!
I found the jitsie end roller a bit agricultural....
Additionally this is a totally enclosed system so ingress of anything wet or abrasive is impossible.
