Bondy I think I'll make mine road legal but I don't think I'll use it very often if at all. Is there any good shows you take your bike to or any Bultaco clubs meet up. Stevie

It certainly looks good on your bike. I've done a Yamaha TY before which was nice and I've also got an old Yamaha RD 125 DX twin which is in the shed needing restored, but i'm really up for the Sherpa being minted. I just love the look of these bikes I could spend all day pottering around with it. I've run the idea of the Sherpa when its finished staying in my lounge as I want to keep it minted. I think the wife thinks i'm mental.

Its on the outer edge so could probably be fixed quite easily. The bike only cost me £280 about a year and a half ago and its got matching frame and engine numbers which is a big plus. But I've now got a bit of time to do it so i'm keen to get cracked on with it.

I've stripped the engine out and its pretty done looking. I'll do bits of it but I think i'll get most of it done professionally. The cylinder head has a broken fin on it so i'll need to get that fixed or replaced as it looks naff. I think the vapour blasting sounds a good idea. I'm tempted to buy a small soda blaster those things look handy.

I think InMotion Trials will be getting my wages in the next few months. :-)

Thanks for the advice I'll let the pros do it. My bike requires a lot of work , but i'll get there I just want to get it right first time. The engine I think needs a full rebuild so I don't imagine that'll be cheap . Stevie

Your bike is stunning , that's the colour I wanted to do mine but I've stuck to its original red and silver colour scheme. Did it take you long to restore it.

Thanks very much Bondy. The new alloy tank you've got sounds good. When I bought my bike I got two tanks with it both alloy. one was a slim tank and the other wider. I've got the slim tank away just now with the air filter box getting stripped and painted. My slim tank was a bit bashed and had a hole at the front of it but the coachbuilder has said he'll take all that out and it will look like new. Fingers crossed. Can you recommend anywhere for wheel restoration. Stevie

Thanks very much Bondy. Yes that's the exact air filter box I have. Unfortunately I cant take a picture of my filter box as its away getting painted. My frame is just back it was away getting powder coated , I'll post a picture of the frame tomorrow. Is it a 159 you have. Regards Stevie

Hi Guys Could someone help me. Could you tell me how to secure the air filter box to the frame. I've just recently started this project and the bike basically came in bits in boxes, so i'm not quite sure. Thanks Stevie
