I notice in tight 1st. gear sections the bike will not Idle so I had to turn up the Idle. This has all accured after a total of 7/8 hours of first gear section riding. Once again, last night I buzzed down the road in 5 gear steady tempo for 5 miles trying to burn out exhaust. When I open the throttle more she starts blubbering and popping.
I notice water had entered my Air Cleaner Box, maybe this is the problem. I'm going to tear every thing down and clean, repack muffler and try again.
Sometimes I wonder if I apply to much filter oil, I use a spray on oil and coat both sides then squeez filter so it is fully absorbed. I also apply grease around the lip of the filter where it makes contact with the air cleaner box.
Yes Andy you need a Video page! That is what makes the biketrials web sites so cool. Its fun because there is clips from the worlds best to the worst like my self riding in there back yard.
Thank you for the reply, there has been a lot of people wanting clips of moto-trials on the bike trials web sites. I just discovered something called DSL at my wifes work place it makes down loading a snap!
I do understand that trials bikes need to be cleaned out often and packing in the muffler changed almost every event. But I'm thinking my situation is worst more often!
Just wondering if its me, both late model trials bike I have owned load up after a few hours of practice. Seems to run fine in the section but taking it for a run down the road in 5 gear it biggins to blubber and act like Im fouling a plug. I notice this at events running between section pushing hard to finish on time she will start act like plugs fouling. Maybe I use to much filter oil. I use racing fuel 80:1 mixture for fuel.
These symptons are the same as I had with my previous Sherco!
So, what are you trying to focus on? being able to calculate your time on the fly. I'm still confused, you start out one at a time following a marked course over 50/100 miles while there is check stations on the way? Most accurate time wins.
I've looked on the web for how Enduros are run and have had no luck.
I have become a little curious about Enduros, What is the objective?
I have heard that you simply go as hard as you can and face many sections with nearly unpassable lines. But honestly I have now Idea of the rules of this sport.
Just seen in the local moto-trader a picture of a absolute HONDA XR/YAMAHA TTR 100cc knock off! $999.00 frog skins, I'm so curious to see one. Actually comes with disk brakes, 5 speed manuel clutch.
Are you guys serious, or is this just gossip about the company Aprilia making another trials bike?
I was at the local Honda dealer yesterday to pick up some packing for my muffler and noticed this bike, a 230 xr trail bike. The price on this machine was like 3600.00 bucks out the door, it was a 2005 model. My whole point is, I would like to see a Scorpa 125 4st copy at this price, I think China made could be possible. The Scorpa 125 4st does not look like anything super hard to knock off. I just feel a enexpensive machine would do the world of trials alot of good. I could see main stream moto dealers here in the states being able to afford having one of these bikes on the show room floor. This could very well be the solution to making motorcycle trials popular here in the US once again.
Back in the 70's we had 300 entries at are 30 acer farm at one fun event!
As I posted before, I spoke to a person at a trade show who said they are working on a trials motorcycle in China.
The most popular trials bicycles in the world right now are KOXX and they are produced in China.
All it would take is someone with deep pockets to have the Scorpa 125 reproduced in China. I'm not saying it would come out with the best brakes and suspension or motor, but just make sure it would except all the after market parts.
I just think a entry level air cooled 4S could be easly made from the way the machines look already being imported from China!
How do ya do rear wheel hops on the moto. I can hop all day on the bici, but the Motorcycle is real tuff! The shock just sucks all the energy out of the motion.
I'm sure you bike/moto people should have some tips.
The same bearing, in the same year make and model, I have changed!
You can buy a Sherco bearing puller that may work on monty's.
But, In my case I used a 12 metric sockit on a extension and beat the little booger out! She is a easy one to freeze up, so be aware to keep her lubed!
