Help required! Has anybody out there rebuilt a 4rt Rear Showa Shock before? (Or had one fully stripped both ends) Or does anyone have experience, photos, schematics, drawings, or diagrams of all the internal components (specifically the rebound adjuster end if you were to remove the top mount from the rod) that they could share with me? i have one in bits that's going off to be rebuilt professionally but it will be no use if one or two components aren't there to begin with! Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Brent

Welcome back. They're plenty of clubs to choose from near you. Bedlington, Tweed Valley, Newcastle, Seaton Deleval and Tynemouth are probably your closest. You also have Durham, Consett, Stanley, Weardale, South Shields, Castleside and Middle England, all of which ride in the NE ACU rounds. Please look at the North East Trials page on Facebook. Ask to join and someone will add you. See you tomorrow at Doddington, Wooler. (Follow marker flags at side of road and you'll find it) Fantastic trial to get back into it! ??

Proper Use Of Clutch And Throttle For A Newbie
brentmain replied to anoldsman's topic in Trials Training And Technique
I rode a friends brand new 300 Sherco (with Flywheel weight) the other day and it was super smooth! I would first do the following - 1. Fit 9 tooth sprocket. 2. Fit a Flywheel weight. 3. Adjust Idle so it'll still pull you along slowly and smoothly over uneven ground. ie Kerb, bricks, shale.(Taking into account your weight and rear wheel traction) -
Hi, I have an unmolested fully road legal 1983 TLR 200. (not the later Reflex) What electrical items can be removed for trials that will not affect its starting/running? How easy is it? And does anyone have a wiring diagram? The questions have probably been asked nemerous times but all i seem to find is answers for the Reflex model! Regards Brent

Has anyone actually used one of these agents? I've heard some bad news stories and would like to know which to avoid and which to use! How do you go about NOVA?

Bsa Wd Wide Ratio Gears How Essential Are They For Trials
brentmain replied to hencam's topic in Pre-65 Bikes
Hencam, The B40 FE Motor (350 Enduro Star) has the wide ratio box you require! These were only built for export to the USA between 1964-1965 but every now and again you see them coming up for sale in the UK. Better is the fact that generally you find the parts you require cheaper if you get them from the states! Simply search 'BSA Enduro Star' in that well known auction site and see what turns up! -

Hi, This site seems like a good place to find out this info! I've been looking at a 315R (post 2001, showa forks model) Seen some for sale in excess of £2750 Is it worth buying the 315R? Agree it was an awesome bike in its time and still more than capable of competeing at the very highest level (in the right hands), however here comes the big question! Are all the usual parts still available for this bike? We're talking along the lines of Piston, Rings, Bearings, Seals, CDI, Gasket kits, Plastics etc, etc, etc!!!!! Seen a post about discontinued brake pads and that got me thinking! Thanks in advance for your info.

Dunk, 6 month ago (due to working abroad) i sold a mint 2009/ registered 2010 GasGas Raga 300 for £1650. (and it genuinely was mint!) Point im tying to make is buy new as you can, you can still get good deals every now and again but be very careful of those who are trying to prize your money away! You can buy much newer than 2005!!! Look for cracked frames, worn motors, etc! Even on 1 and 2 year old bikes this happens, people cover them up and sell on quickly! By the size you want!! Plenty will tell you that this size will do this, this will be too much for you, you should learn on this one!! All i say is if you really want a 300 then go and buy a 300! Yes its a steeper learning curve but boy so much fun!!! Just enjoy the ride! Which Bike! Thats you preference on what floats your boat! Personally I like GG. Others like Beta, Ossa, Sherco, Scorpa, Mont! I'm not saying i dont like these as i do but the charastics are slightly different! Basically GG, Sherco and Scorpa all look and handle very similar! Beta looks different, handles different but an amazing bike no less! Ossa is fuel injected, having probs with spares at present but a lovely bike. Monty 315 is a quality older bike which is rising in price. Monty 4RT is a 4 Banger so power delivery differs! Enjoy which ever bike you get! They're all better than majority of riders and the end result is they will all do the same!
