Never mind the forecast - look out your window! Thank's for the tip there's some bird opposite getting changed for bed with her curtain's open.

    Timing

Slide seem's to be sitting to high you should'nt be able to see the needle. have you adjusted the adjuster to much either at the top of the carb or at the throttle on the bar's.If it's not that then take the cable off the throttle at the bar's and see if the slide drop's,when you've done that pull the cable then release, you should hear a nice crisp clunck from the slide as it hit's the bottom of the carb. so if it's not been adjusted to much the cable could be to short.

Are we talking high rev's at full throttle type of rev's. not sure what your slide is like, but on some carb's it's possible to put your slide in round the wrong way and that would leave the slide fully open.
  6. We are talking about the natural progression of competition machines. Just look at some of ythe ideas Sammy Miller, Mick Grant, Jon Bliss and the like have experimented with over the years. I don't believe traction control will turn out to be an advantage, but I'm all for manufacturers trying it and anything else they think might work. If (and as you say it's a big IF) riders start turning up at club trials with traction control (or any other mechanical aid), it means that the technology has worked and has been introduced at an affordable price and accepted by the Governing bodies. There will be classes for machines which do not have the technology. The best riders will still win. Did we turn away the first mono shock machines when they were introduced? Did we turn away tubless tyres? Did we turn away light weight machines with no seats? Don't get me wrong im not against technology to trial's bike's at all.As long as it's just structual. The manufacture's have probaly run out of idea's of how to make the bike's leaner and meaner, which will mean rider's won't have the need to upgrade there bike's every year which mean's no revenue for the manufacture, now there thinking of new idea's of how to capture the punter's,if you think company's like honda are in it for the love of trial's your be wrong,it's about money in the bank to them. It just seem's crazy to me,that a sport that is all about the skill of a rider's throttle control would want traction control, surely it's just wrong having a computer onboard correcting the rider's mistake's. Time will tell i guess.
  7. I see something like that down at ann summer's the other day.
  8. you got it micm. If that don't break trial's in half nothing will
  9. What governing bodie's scorpa, honda/ montesa is the ferrari of trial's. If it is true and that's a big if,there obviously want to bring it to the mainstream, that mean's your get rider's turning up at club trial's with them. What would you do turn those rider's away for unfair advantage.
  10. I can see trial's bike's going the same way as F1 car's.(boring). How are you testing your skill's on a bike if the bike's gonna do it all for you.
  11. Tiwnshock's are no where near as rare as some people would like to make out infact they don't even come into the rare bracket yet. They can all be bought for the right price, some of the part's maybe rare to come by but they can be machined to match at a price offcourse.Give it another 20 to 30 year's and then your really find out what your sitting on. On a nice spring/summer's sunday the twinshock's will out weigh the present's of modern bike's at most of the club trial's i attend. Point being there not quite a show piece yet there still very much a work horse that arn't ready to be retired yet. I take my hat off to anyone that decide's to take one on to restore, but please don't think to yourself's after you restored it,that it would be a shame to trial the bike,i'd rather see an old dog still trialing than seeing a showroom piece sitting in a garage with a blanket over it.
  12. Don't make the mistake of thinking because you have a spark everything is well,it dont mean nothing in case's like your's. I done a stator a while ago,all reading's came out spot on,however i changed the stator anyway and sorted the problem. You've checked all the free and obvious thing's but still no joy.now your getting to the bottom of the problem so don't give up just yet . Before you go out and start buying thing's see if there's a rider with the same bike locally that will be kind enough to loan you his stator/coil. Hope you get it sorted soon so you can start enjoying the bike again.
  13. On the other hand why not sell the bike's for what ever reason. What's the point of having an old twinshock sitting idle in the back of a garage and not having a chance to see daylight again, that's not going to help the cause of keeping twinshock's alive if anything it will help kill them off. Best to find someone to buy them who will have them restored and running and back out in the mud where they belong.
  14. It's all about trial and error, pick the one you like the look of give it some action and if you feel it's not right look out for a diffrent model. Don't make the mistake that everyone seem's to be doing, by buying a big engined bike if your only just starting out it will have you off for sure and that will make it look like you picked the wrong bike, when infact a 200 of the same make bike will be perfect for you. you can only go so far with other people opinion's and it's allway's gonna be bias.
  15. wow what a honey pot. will interesting to see what it all goes for.
  16. So do we take the Impreza's on the track or do we just drive down high street on a saturday night and perv at the girl's
  17. Or alternatively the moral of your tale is "You may as well buy off Ebay, as it's no better if you pay the extra money to buy from a dealer!" moral of the tale. Make sure the bike ain't knackered before you buy it,Allway's go and view the bike first,if you don't know much about bike's then try and take someone with you that does. cg125 Trust me you was very lucky you did'nt have a box of tear's delivered to your door step

  19. Yeah the key look's good from what i can see from the photo..You'd know if it was broken it would of sheared off from the shaft. check the groove that the key sit's on insde the flywheel, that should be good aswell i would have thought.
  20. Like a snake pit. Allway's go and see it before even thinking of making a bid.
  21. A Newbie forum would'nt go a miss in my view. There's a lot of new blood or people who parked there bike's up 30 year's ago and now coming back into trial's that probaly don't know much about trial's so they hav'nt got the knowledge there to reply to post's, apart from asking question's about there bike's which most of us have seen on here before. If you type in the wrong view in the forum's it can be like a lamb to the slaughter if your not used to the other user's reply's if they don't agree with you.I just love to be a lamb so it don't bother me.lol. .In a newbie forum they can get through the door grow together and then progress from there.

    Powder Coat Or Paint

I'd say get it nickel coated.I know it won't be the right colour but it last's forever and in my view make's the bike more eye catching.
  23. the plug only fail's if it's getting bad management from where the spark is origanated from...i.e stater or coil.
