    Tyres ? ?

    You're right, hes talking ****
  2. Theres only two bar sizes (7/8-22mm) and the more commonly used on newer bikes (9/8-28mm) also known as Fatbar. You have the 28mm. All major trials brands do them, rental, jitsie, s3 etc
  3. The part of your diagram with 3 separate tap configurations and 3 arrows is the correct way. Car antifreeze should be fine
  4. Why are we not allowed to know?
  5. As paul says id try contacting s3, you never know they might have good customer support ? My money would be on either CP (grade 2 )or 6-4 (grade 5). A CP (er ti 2) rod will work adequately on the 6-4
  6. Some people here don't seem to realise there's 40 different grades of titanium alloy and they are pretty much grade specific. Chances are its either grade 2 or grade 5
  7. Team selection for GB? Price and Martyn, with no Dabill... If i didn't know better it would nearly look like the X-trial organisers chose that team
  8. Pretty sure that's standard although the hole is usually a little tidier around the edges than yours check out the pics in this thread
  9. Are you seriously saying the previous woodruff key was made from a penny?! When i seen the state of the heads of the Philips screws i knew someone had obviously been playing silly buggers with your ignition at some point in the past
  10. How can having to travel to a bearing shop and potentially get bearings that don't fit, be less hassle than having them delivered to your door for only 30 pounds knowing they will fit? But since you asked
  11. Ive stopped using the xlite purely because of their wear rate and lack of value for money. I ended up using them at slightly higher pressure to avoid punctures and when i did i hardly noticed any difference in grip to the standard x11. I run x11s Fuji doesn't ?
  12. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SHERCO-PAIOLI-38MM-TRIPLE-CLAMPS-YOKES/233151581393?hash=item3648eaccd1:g:Ci0AAOSw3bBceYDz Im not 100% sure but the yokes that run to about 2009 may also fit along as they are 38mm
  13. If you have an old pair of reasonably straight handlebars lying about then they are worth bringing. It says he's in scotland, so this is definitely a must ?
  14. https://trialendurodirect.com/product/gg-pro-model-engine-protector-and-mudflap/ Definitely worth it, had one on all my gasgass
  15. How long is it going to be before you build your own TS or pre65 frame?

    Sharp Brakes

Your front brake is the envy of a lot of people
  17. The rear rim looks in good nick to me, although for that style and age of rim, getting the rim tape to seal for a tubeless tyre could be a pain (they weren't the most reliable even when new). Id go as above, down the tubed route, performance wise you won't lack anything over a tubeless tyre, exactly the same compound and you can run the same pressure. Hard to say regarding the front without seeing it in person, although it does look corroded. Your spokes and nipples all look in good condition, would be a shame not to keep these at least
  18. Whats exactly wrong with the rims? They just look dirty to me
  19. This doesn't make sense. Is it a question? You obviously were never around in the 70s or have any experience of trials in the past to come out with a statement like that
  20. They would put less pressure on finding venues capable of hosting a WTC. Theres becoming less and less. You did hear the news that britain isn't hosting a WTC? Its a factor. Modern bikes certainly don't inspire this generation to get involved. If anything, they put people off It is the bikes fault, when the bikes were less capable, experts and clubmen used to ride the same line. Now theres 3 lines, sometimes 4 lines at a trial and it still isn't enough. Put Lewis hamilton in a ford fiesta and you and i wouldnt be that far behind him. Put us in an F1 car, we wouldnt see him past the first corner. Same principle. When things are at a lower level the difference in abilities is minimised. Do you follow the Scottish or the pre65 scottish even? Accessible? Accessible means lowering the level closer to Joe Bloggs, you're contradicting yourself here. PS Your comment sounds like you were on the pish when you wrote it
  21. Its advanced itself beyond common reach. Every sport goes through a golden age, trials was in the late 70s to early 90s. Personally i believe it needs a regression, changing the rules wasn't it, but i understand the reasoning. It needs bikes to take a few steps back, to allow a more sensible level to return. To me, bou going up a 12 foot step is no more impressive than jordi going up an 8 ft or lejeune up a 6 foot. Bigger doesn't always mean better. Just look at F1, the most advanced boring sport in the world Something is wrong when a venue like addingham moorside can't meet the level of a world round. Motocross killed its venues in the 90s, trials is doing the same thing. The same thing is happening at local level, its becoming harder and harder to mark a section for the beginner and the expert rider at the same venue. Run a trial that suits the expert rider and the beginners complain, run a trial that suits the beginner and the experts complain. Years ago it was easier because the bikes didn't exacerbate the difference in level
  22. Don't go too much by my suggestion. The ones i rode were a couple years old and they had seen better days
  23. Anytime i rode an Ossa they always knocked from being too lean. So i think you may be judging against a bike that was already under fuelled
  24. With the right technique it doesn't matter what your suspension is set like, suspension rebound only plays a small role in aiding lifting of the bike (weight transfer plays the biggest role). However, at 220 lbs and an intermediate rider id consider looking for a stiffer spring than standard at least in the rear, there's a good chance you're bottoming out when you jump down hard on the suspension, and this certainly won't be helping your hopping woes. The speed of rebound is dictated by the spring stiffness as well as your damping after all
  25. Thats why 99% of the time they are placed next to the boiler which is in a utility room. That being said, in the near proximity to any heat source i usually find my boots dry after a couple of days. Is this to get your boots dry for sunday from riding saturday?
