  1. Thanks with the caliper and forks looks like this one is a 2013 then. Price is ok and it looks clean so will go have a look as long as the 2013s don't have any big issues?
  2. No its in France. It had black fork stanchions and calipers. Frame and colour scheme look the same.
  3. I'm thinking of buying a 300 factory its listed as a 2014 but after a bit of reading am sure its a 2013 by the forks and calipers. Can you tell by the frame numbers? Anything I need to check apart from the usual things to look for on a trials bike? Will the 2013 bike have the easy start kit fitted? Is the data cable, software and maps readily available at a reasonable price? I currently have a 2004 Beta rev3 and have only been riding for fun just over a year. If I find the 300 a bit much can it be easily tamed with a slow throttle and flywheel weight? Thanks in advance.
  4. Andy Metcalfe Motorcycles 01642 475600 (in the north east) has a guy that rebuilds them I had the bladder replaced on mine.
  5. Keep your eyes open on eBay I managed to get a pair of new guards for an 04 Rev3 for £30 delivered. Sometimes people list things badly and you can get a bargain.
  6. I think it was around £90 for a rebuild if no other parts needed and it was £181 delivered to France so probably about £165 with the new bladder. Mine is an 04 the red shock. You could hear the oil moving around when you shake it couldn't hear anything when I got it back. Give Andy a ring he is a nice guy
  7. I have just had mine rebuilt including a new bladder through Andy Metcalfe Motorcycles 01642 475600 even posted it back to me in France. Unbelievable difference.
  8. My 04 bike is the opposite away from cylinder off. Up is on and towards cylinder reserve. Reset the tangs as described above and it will stop.
  9. My 04 knocked fairly bad especially on over run. I thought it was the piston or little end. I noticed my head gasket was in the wrong position (tab not to the front) I corrected that and decoked the top of the piston and head its quiet now and has more power.
  10. I have just had mine in bits to replace an idler gear and I put it in 6th gear put foot on the rear brake and it came off and tightened no problem
  11. Thanks Col once I try it you know I will want one but 2 or 4 stroke My R6 is nice I just don't use it might as well get something I will use.
  12. Very nice how you getting on with it? Bug catches on thinking of selling my road bike (R6) as I don't use it and might look for an Evo. What are the differences on the factory versions?
  13. I pulled the clutch out today as I had the case off as the starter return spring has snapped and found the basket has slight grooves in it. I will smooth them out but that will be the cause of mine. (don't know why I didn't see them before)
  14. Dry it off then with some kitchen roll only needs a very light covering but make sure its covered all over. Do a search on the net loads of how to vids
  15. But what voltage is the motor 24v? I cant find any reference to how many amps the motors draw on 6s lipos. Maybe a power meter would be a good idea to test its within limits http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewitem.asp?idproduct=28713&aff=1070348 The chargers I listed will balance charge them correctly. I would also wire on the bike a voltage checker and alarm to tell you when they need charging keep within safe limits. Life batteries don't like high discharge rates so may not work. If its 24v these batteries will do it http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewitem.asp?idproduct=32211&aff=1070348 they are in a hard case so not damaged as easily and rated 30c discharge. You will need some power connectors these are really good http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewitem.asp?idproduct=46611&aff=1070348 And a series connector http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewitem.asp?idproduct=31809&aff=1070348 Balance charger lead if you want to charge 2 together http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewitem.asp?idproduct=9910&aff=1070348 (but cant find them in UK store) Bag to keep/charge the batteries in http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewitem.asp?idproduct=66381&aff=1070348 just adds a little safety Voltage monitor http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewitem.asp?idproduct=44508&aff=1070348 Also need some cable and heat shrink to connect it all up. Not sure how the osset turns on etc but good idea to have a battery shut off. Hope this helps.
  16. I know very little about the Osets but I do know a little about electric model flying, Hobbyking and lipos. 5.0 is 5000mAH. You need to know how many volts you need to work out how many cells the battery needs. From what is in stock in the UK warehouse (check you don't get international you might have to pay import tax) this charger is very good for the price http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewitem.asp?idproduct=28146&aff=1070348 Its 12volt so you will need to run it from a car battery or power supply. (I made mine from a PC PSU) Or this one is 240 http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewitem.asp?idproduct=49452&aff=1070348 Let me know the voltage battery's you need and the max Amps that will be drawn by the motor and I can find you the batteries.
  17. Very easy to do but you will need a flywheel tool to remove it. 2 different stators 4 or 6 windings. Yours should be a 4 as its a later bike so set it at 2.2mm (assuming its the same as the 250) This is what it looks like but its the earlier one. http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/uploads/post-1592-1140382977.jpg Easy to change it back to what it was if you mark it before you change it
  18. Might be worth pulling the flywheel and check the timing. I jumped on a friends older 250 and it pulled way better than mine. i adjusted my timing slightly (a bit more advanced) and its much better and no more knock on over run and pulls much cleaner.

    My New 06 Rev3

I decided to do burn my exhaust after reading what others had done. I used a propane torch that you would use doing roof flashing. I don't think you could damage it with that unless you keep the tip in one place continuously. The other option is cut it open, repack then weld it back up. (I haven't access to an ally welder) Not sure what damage I did to the packing, if any of it was left after 11 years but it must have been completely blocked and doing nothing anyway. I figured I can always cut it open later. Bike sounds nice crisp and much quieter than before. I repacked the rear and cleaned the front pipe not much oil in it but a fair amount of carbon I found it fell off easily with a little heat applied. When I did my forks I found references to the manual been wrong anyway. After searching on here I went with right leg ................................................370 cc Left leg .................................................350 cc But I removed 420 right 390 left I also needed to replace the copper washers on the drain plugs might be worth getting them first if you haven't got any.

    My New 06 Rev3

So its a 270? If its still in bits might be worth taking the rest of the exhaust off and clean/burn it out. I hung them up outside and used a roofing blow torch once hot enough it will burn on its own (will be a lot of smoke) I needed to add a little heat to keep it going from time to time. I cant believe how much oil was in the center section of mine it burned for hours and weighed half as much when done.

    My New 06 Rev3

Looks a good bike I changed all the fluids, plug, cleaned and checked everything when I got mine found rear shock bearings had gone and front spindle pinch bolts snapped and just glued in Engine code/number look under the carb towards rear of the bike. Throttle cable is adjusted where it goes into the carb. If its fully adjusted think a new cable will be needed. Would be worth giving the carb a clean out when you get the new rubbers. You can add some preload on the rear shock cant tell from the photo but looks right off but yes a heavier spring probably needed. Gear oil quantity in the book is 550cc but some put 500 in (so a bottle does 2 changes) after reading what others used some use ATF but a lot prefer the feel 75w gear oil gives the clutch.
  22. Yeah after looking again it probably is a little small. What wheel size do the petrol engined bikes start at?
  23. Very nice love to get one for my little girl (5). I have some experience with Lipos and have chargers etc so good it I can fine one like this that needs work and batteries. What sort of money did you pick it up for?
