Hi there, which after market sump Guard did you get for your 4RT?
-
-
this is a S3 Banyeres version which does look good but would need a heat shield attachment really
-
this is a Another S3 Version!!!
-
Ok, would you recommend running in first with original pipe and then changing over?
Would it alter the fuel/Air mapping?
which manufacturer is preferred as there are 3-4 to choose from and TBH I have no idea
This is from Jim Sandifords
-
Still Shopping ha ha.. ok, what do you guys think of the S3 4RT Titanium front pipe?
Is is a good upgrade on the standard?
does it sound noisier?
Does it produce more power?
I know they look cleaner and don't corrode etc
Which manufacturer is a better fit?
-
Brill. thanks for that, Just ordered a side stand as I remember they felt like it was going to fall back and the stand to give way!!
Thanks for all the help and Advice. when I've got it and put all the bling on I will get some pics up!!
-
Ok thanks for that, will check out the side stand. Just use the original oil say for a few hours running it. but what is really best for the engine... Elf MTX oil?
-
Hi There.. I actually went for a Standard 4RT instead of the
Repsol. Couple of reasons being. It wont make my riding any better for an extra £1300 and I like the look of the standard in its red n black livery against the Repsol at St Blazeys. So today I've been on the net Blinging it up with a load of S3 goodies. S3 alloy pegs in Titanium and lever adjusters/Master cyl S3 covers and a Bit of carbon here n there..
Really looking forward to picking it up next week sometime. !!
any other usefull upgrades to put on?? (wish it came with Michelins X lites tho)
-
Im guessing its dry weight but before my lovely Beta 300 goes Im gonna wheelie it onto the bathroom Scales for a direct comparisom with full fuel.. not that it makes any difference but interested to know.
I do have a a few bits Ive taken on like all the factory bling on the handlebars and also a heavier spring kit that I have just bought. so if anybody is interested in takin off my hands its all available
-
Oooh nooo dont say that Ha Ha.. Bit too white for me...
-
Now that is been launched.TBH i wasn't that impressed. hardly any changes or handy mods. looks like they used the rear shock from the standard 2014.
So Ive gone and ordered a New 4RT. Both are fantastic bikes but the build quality and ride-ablity of the Monty won me over
-
I really liked the standard 4RT 2014. it was unjustifiable at the time to keep.. Done alot of thinking in the last week and still the same conclusion.. and the same bikes. the factory 250 should be released soon so waiting on that and a decision will be made..
In terms of actual weight.. has anyone put one on the scales??
I know it makes so little difference but would be interested to know... I put my 2014 beta on the bathroom scales and it was 69kgs .. which is more than i thought
The 4rt supposed to weigh in at 73kgs but does it??
-
Its an interesting discussion, Carbs are very good /simple/and work BUT are very old in design on operation, EFI or even mechanical fuel injection (in old cars) in its infancy was probably hit n miss but that was a long time ago. My mate has a 1925 model t ford. Same fuelling process as the New Beta that could be my next purchase!!!
Modern EFI's gives precisely what the engine needs at a given time. nothing more and nothing less, and are now super reliable and give out less emissions.. etc etc
But isn't the that part of biking we love! fiddling around with float heights n jets ..
-
I will do and thanks for all your help and comments. Basically they are all brilliant and way more than I could ever do on them. Lets see what the New Factory Betas look like and it will be an either or!!
-
I think the Standard 260 is an awesome bike and if the price is right I would defo look at another one, Just want to see what the 250 factory is like in Feb
-
-
Ha Ha thanks Guys...Ok. and this is in no way directing my decision, (honest) A mate of mine had a sherco a while ago and things went wrong with it from the start.. same with the Gas Gas..and also not really sure about the trellis style frame on the gasser so I sort of hid back in my safety net and decided on one or the other.. I really Did like my 2014 4RT.. and the Beta 2012 factory, it was faultless and all the bits are soooo cheap etc
I'm just waiting to see what the new Factory 250s are like (End of feb) and I'm hoping It will be a quick decision, I was really bored at work today so to entertain myself I was toying with the "Buy It Now" button on the Repsol!!
Rejoined Zona1 for some weelie good entertainment!!
-
Ha Ha, I know. Im very lucky. the 200 2013 model is an awesome bike. how do you get on with it?
-
Thanks Guys.. and it IS a dilemma.. My 2014 4rt was a joy to ride.. very torquey.almost snatchey torquey.. brilliant on the long hill climbs. no mixing of fuel.and felt planted. Like armchair trials!! etc
my 2012 factory beta again was so good to ride, light (even tho there is only a couple of kgs in it) easy to kick over. very flick-able. Parts are really cheap.. a brilliant bike all round.
etc.
Looking at the resale's of both.. it looks like after one year if in mint condition, the Repsol will lose about a grand ish and after 3 years about 2k/2.5k and the Factory Evo 250 is even rarer .. Loads of 300 s around though.
As soon as the factory versions are released it will be decision time.
-
Hi Steve, Yeh, I suppose if I could get a demo on the two together then would be easier but that isn't going to happen realistically and either 5700 or 7000 is alot to spend.
Appreciate the 4 versus 2 stroke argument. boils down to which ever you prefer, as they are all good.
My Yamaha F70 outboard is now the same weight and revs more than the two stroke versions. But still love the smell of a two stroke in the morning!!
-
Hi again.Currently have a 2013 300 Beta and Is a great bike and looking to blow my work bonus on a new bike in the next month.
I've owned a new 4rt and was a really good bike, light tractable. awesome build quality etc and owned a fantastic 2012 Beta Evo 250 Factory. Both brilliant bikes in their own right..
Im really interested in either a new Montesa Repsol or a 2015 Factory Beta..that has not been released yet
So with the release of the 2015 250 Factory immanent.
Does anyone know what the specs are and colour etc???
They say that Italy will have the first lot available but would be interested to know if anyone knows anything more??
Which of the two mentioned bikes is more desirable to own?
I may do a small local competition occasionally and I'm Club-man level so does not justify having a highly competitive machine but I really enjoy trials riding and escaping from her indoors and gonna blow the lot so she doesn't get er hands on it.
Many thanks

Ok Thanks for that, Still enjoying the 300 but aiming for a factory 250 when they come out
-
Hi There.
My First post to TC and wanted to say hi to a!!
looking at your conversations reference the Beta evo 200 and 250 I wanted to ask really .apart from the obvious, what is the 200 really like to ride? compared with a 250 beta?
Ive had quite a few Trials bikes in the last couple of years such as new 4RT. New 2014 Beta 250 evo. 2012 250 Factory, 2013 250 Beta evo etc etc. and all of them have been great especially the 4RT.
The betas are so light and flickable and parts are cheap to keep them looking good. I currently have a 2013 300 Beta which is great exept sometimes I cant kick the thing over as there is soooo much compression so looking at a New 250 factory or 2015 250 or 200
Many Thanks Guys
