What can be used to temporarily seal the bead while installing new tire on a tubless rear tire. I've seen jitsie sells a Oring foam thing but no dealers seem to carry it.

Yes they did. Have not had a chance to ride it yet. BetaUsa has been great. The problem lies with the local dealer. The bike does start and run. Need to take it out for a real ride though.

My local shop says when he does the top end he will not reinstall the jitsie aluminum water pump.
He says it is not stock and could affect the warranty . But that kit is sold
On betausa' website. Is he right?

My dealer and Tim have decided to replace the cylinder. I'm very happy on that decision. It shows the kind of company they are by standing behind their product. I understand that every now and than something will slip by QC but they are doing the right thing. Another win in BETA's court.
Ted
Thanks for the replies. I have voiced my concerns to tim p. I also believe they should just replace the cylinder. When you spend $8 grand on a new bike there should be no defects, especially on the cylinder. Even if
that hole is not responsible who knows what other defects that cylinder has. Will keep you updated on this.
Ted
Yes it has 2 part cylinder head. Thinking maybe crack in cylinder from casting defect related to hole in outer cylinder or out of spec mating surfaces? Does the compression dome have to be sealed too?
Ted
Well the foam is back, emailed Betausa that I would like to have the cylinder replaced. I don't know whats causing the foam. Should I replace the compression dome? if that was warped would that be causing the foaming in the radiator?

What do you guys think about me filling in the 1/8 inch notch I accidentally drilled in the lower linkage attachment frame point. Should I try to fill it in with JBweld or nothing to worry about? Its on the inside of the hole where the special bolt goes thru.

You're right on the Beta lrt being overpriced. I have one and the design is not the greatest. The front Oring strap constantly breaks. Most people use a Velcro strap around the front. The seat cushion is just foam, no cover. The plastic fuel switch strips after a few times turning it. The only difference I see is the price $500 vs $100. Nice!

Finally got around to servicing my linkage. Disassembling went fine and i managed to grease the bearings. One bearing was muddy and dry. I didn't see any corrosion though. Re assembly is were things went to nightmarish. When I went to torque the lower dogbone to frame bolt to 30nm the wrench started spinning. I knew something was wrong but in a momentary lapse of reason(tired) I thought I would do the other side first and than comeback to the problem. Checked torque setting again and the right side did the same thing! Now panick set in and sure enough the flat heads of the special bolt fell to the ground. I had twisted the bolts right off the heads.
I tried punching the bolts through but they would not budge. Ended up getting some 1/8 12" long drill bits bits and trying to drill an easy out in there. Had to grind off the top of the nuts first because of the locking tabs. After jury rigging the easy out and many hours of frustration I got the bolts out. Because of the limited space and angles you can't drill straight.
I ended up walking a bit into the bolt which put a notch into the aluminum frame bolt eyes. Aaagggaaah!
I'm not sure if I should be concerned about the notch. Its not a bearing surface, just an attachment point. Its probably a little weaker but lighter! My friend let me borrow his bolts and the metal looks a little different. Ended up checking my torque wrench against another one and it was spot on. 30nm does seem a little much for that special bolt. I torqued the new bolts down a few nm less.

Just replaced the plastic with jitsie alloy one. The plastic one was stuck and after using a plier it snapped flush with the carb body. Used duggan's trick. Took 3 tries as the plastic melted and went deeper. Wheww! Thanks Duggan. The new screw is still very extremely tight but does turn. My next question is what size is the fuel line and carb vent hoses. Also noticed the main fuel tap is larger diameter?
Thanks
Thanks, I watch all the trials videos trying to improve my skills. My timing seems to be off as my friends have noticed. Guess it's off to practice, practice, practice.
It's hard when you're over half decade old to learn, but still fun.
Oh and it's a 2015 250 Evo
Does anyone know how many turns the rear shock rebound adjustment screw has. I currently have mine on 1turn in because the bike full open seemed to kick too much. I weigh about 135lbs. I'm trying to get wheelies down and my friend says to go full open. So I was thinking the front forks are the one that should be a little springier. On the trails I think I would lose a little traction. What is the full adjustment range on the rebound screw on the rear shock.
