I live in Hot Springs and fart around on my 280 a bit. Where are you located? Keenan is in Uniontown (just north of Fort Smith) good guy with some of the best land for any kind of dirt bike.
They get it from Jim Snell. Jim isn't getting any new parts, so it's just what he has left in inventory.
No one gets parts from Jim unless YOU call Jim he has GG stock and can sell them.
If YOU call a GG dealer ANY DEALER (trials or enduro) the parts come from GasGas North America. That is how it is now they have a parts warehouse in South Dakota they ship from to the the dealers in the US and Canada.
Id buy the GG nothing wrong with a older bike. Bullet prof motor I have a 01 TXT 280 and my buddy has a 95 JT 25 (250) if you are new to the sport that bike WILL do more than you can. I would buy it if it were closer to me.
I would just like to thank you Jim for the work you have done for GG and CONTINUE to do for us GG riders(NOT GG). Most people would have just taken the videos down and not looked back. You are a man above men
there should be an right angles union which pushes into the crankcase near the front sprocket.
Quite often I have found these to be missing for some reason but you can purchase the steel angled union to which you can push your hose onto, they are interference fit so you need to tap them home into the casing with a small hammer
This is correct for the PRO if it is a EDITION (GG had both that year) it will be just behind the kick start hump in the center case hidden by the carb
Mike at The Tryals Shop can get you what you need. He helped me get my 01 and my buddy's 95 back from the dead. Snell has LOTS of parts also Both stand up guys.
Shocks have been changed from time to time my bud has a 96? contact 250 and I have a 01 txt 280 both have different shocks. My shock is a sealed unit I assume yours is the same. I think Splat has someone that mods them to make them rebuildabl
Probably because Jim Snell did extensive testing and determined ATF to work better in the PRO motor. I have never seen a trials service Manuel but if it is ANYTHING like the Enduro Manuel Id throw it in the trash.
You will want to take out those bolts holding the rear finder on and replace with zip tyes those finders are costly on any trials bike and getting hard to find for older ones
I`m not in the loop. The new owners or whatever just screwed the pooch. Jim has helped more Gas Gas riders world wide more than any single person. His website contained more info than anyone else even combining all others. He also had one of the best inventory of parts. Hope this gets worked out soon for the sake of Gas Gas owners. I see a TRS in my future. Thanks Jim!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes bad move on GasGas's part way to much info in that brain.
There is NO GasGas info none he does not even have GasGas on the home page. The new owners must have cut him out I hope not there is just to much info there.
