Okay here is me findings, Montesa heavy, Beta less heavy, Sherco even less heavy, GasGas less weight of all as usually in bits requiring a rebuild
Oil i find that Olive Oil light to be the lightest of all oils and low in saturated fats, thus reducing the onset of obesity.
-
Mmmm im thinking Ariel 500cc might be heavier.
Personally i Buzz cut my hair to a grade 1# thus significantly reducing my overall competeing weight.
-
Think ill take me wifes Audi TT engine out service it n weight it just for the laugh.
Only in America, thank god its far enough away.

I think you should have your etiquette observed and given a 5
I dont understand your point as you seemed to stressed about the situation of your own doing. Maybe this lesson session is something you need to reflect on and take a step back and forget the indivdual, i have seen top riders at non stop hop backwards foot and still get a clean whilst i have been likewised five for merely a brief stop, but hey ho is life. Just enjoy it after all its just a bunch of folk riding around in the mud.
I believe that prior to the start or whilst the trial is not finished then you should not ride in the flagged area to practise or you may risk a 5 or dismissal from the event.

This is what i have just had to fix. Its a complete engine strip down and in the selector barrel is two rollers mounted on what looks like a chain link. The link bends slightly and the result is usually going oneway on the gearbox and unable to return. Its not to bad a job to do and GasGas gave me plenty of good advice so my first engine strip and rebuild went ok.
-
Wow still the same old engine block from 94 Techno, talk about recycling. Looks nice pity GasGas dont use the same rims.
-
I think clubs should do more to stop this, like ensure you have to be a member of the club and proof of frame and engine number of your bike. Its a long shot i know but having 5 bikes stolen, its not fair on the poor sods at the hands of these Turds.
Hope you catch the B4st4rds

Mine has broken too. I would remove your idle gear and inspect it as mine is damaged which is the cause of the kickstart shaft moving and cracking the case. Visually its not noticable until removed as the facing side will look ok but the inner side may well be worn.
-
Is Ossa taking a leaf out of the Xispa marketing. Given what they have achieved since the first release photos and up until now it is not impressive. I think they need to do some decent marketing or the interest will die out, like getting the bike out at an event regardless of who rides it. I remember in the good ol days (sounding old farty) you saw a picture then it was releases shortly after.
The carrot is looking mouldy.

Back in 1990 i was doing my course to pass me bike test and the instructor said lets all do a go slow race to show throttle n balance skills. I stood still next to me mate and finally beat him whilst the instructor had to ride back to us. It was a laugh doing that course as me and my mate just rode at the back pulling wheelies and stoppies and then we both went on to pass first time.
-
Sounds like clutch which some do and some dont. Mine is noisy but was like it from new and is still the same today nearly 3 years on.
-
Two stroke full synthetic 75ml to 80ml per 5Ltr is what i run. I would replace gearbox oil after 10 hours ride to ATF which is nice and thin but does a great job.
I would get some clear lacker/ varnish and paint the spoke nipples to help project them to from tarnishing and rust. Frame guards are a good buy to keep frame in decent condition and the rear silencer will need spacing out to avoid rubbing on the rear wheel.
-
Why run a trials bike on an MX track anyway. You will ring the life out the bike as its not got a big radiator nor designed or setup to run on full throttle for long periods. The suspension would be terrible on a mx track.
-
I for one would not recommend pouring petrol into an electric lawn mower.
stick it in the car you tight bugger, why risk your bikes engine.
-
clutch will be knackered as the water may have swell the plates. You need to keep a better eye on youre bike as things unmissed become major failures and bid bucks.
Hope you just get away with the pump seal.
-
You use to be one. I think errmm then again not so sure.
Im on the yes id buy one as some say they ride over not into rocks. I watch top riders and they have faultless bikes and i dont know how but end up looking spotless end of a trial.
-
My mate is after a bike and there is a number for sale saying done SSDT. He thinks they get thrashed to hell and are knackered after the event. I think differently and they should be ok.
Whats the verdict on this ?

Hold up didnt know ar lass flogged ar best dresser table. Now how do i check me comb over.

Best to get a Trials helmet as it is lighter and gives way better visability as you need to look down unlike Mx looking forward mainly.
You can down load the ACU licence application from the ACU web site or turn up and join a club and ask for a form. The trials can be found on here main page or on google TMX WHATS ON.
You have enough to start with but long term Trials clothing helmet and boots give best performance. Just go and chill out as its just a bunch of nice folk riding for fun and no doubt give you some help and advice.

I have a gasser 300 and its way better than the Beta 250/270`s i had. I think the carbs are or was poor even after mods. Montesa 315r had a small tank yet i did ok on the jackwood and scott managing to get to fuel stops with out using the spare 500ml can i carried.
-
My mate always had to keep an eye on his fuel in his 4rt. Not sure on how much a 4rt standard tank holds but me Gasser 300 seemed to go further or i just worried less.
I would guess a 4 stroke should be better than a 2 stroke. I believe some lorries back in the eighties were 2 strokes.
-
I raced enduro so my reference was to the enduro, but regarding trials no top uk riders i know of ride them. They cannot compete on cost n weight plus maintenance.
How many new 4rt do you see nowdays compared to the release of them. Beta`s seem poor as a friend of mine runs a 4rt and Beta 300 which stalls easy then a pain to start unlike the 4rt.
The 4 stroke will fade as new models prove this with no investment into 4 strokes.
-
I dont think the modern bikes will fair that well as they run alot tighter tolerances with lighter materials. MX fourstokes rev more than twostrokes and when they pop its big bucks. I raced enduro 4 and 2 strokes and the twostroke is way better all round. Lighter faster like for like and less maintenance no oil n filter change every 10 hours.
No top uk riders use them now as they have all gone back to twostroke.
-
But would you buy one ? NO
Who now rides them other than the Hondas with the buget to input unlike the rest. The four strokes dead long live the the two stroke.
