  1. Wonder how easy it is to put fuel in as the filler looks shallow plus it will get cover in crap. Not to keen on the filter as anything facing upwards has to stop water draining down through it. My Beta always suffered from this design yet my GasGas gets loads of crap in the airbox but after 2 years as never have any get into the carb. Any idea on the price yet.

    Dented Tank

Dont know if it will work on a Gasser but when i had a TY175 i put a compressor onto the breather tube and blew out the dents numberous times. Failing that use filler and spray it black and fit 07-08 tank stickers.
  3. That sounds like a problem as it should be like a course toothpaste in feel. My Pro had some bits in it which i stripped and found a bearing failure, to which damaged an idle gear and numberous bearings. Dont use it as it will and up costing loads as i stopped my bike asap and it still cost
  4. Has it got an ACU approved logo on it if not you may hit problems at some events.
  5. That old chestnut IM selling it for a friend who`s left the country. Throw

    Ossa

MMMM a Greeves or an Ossa ?
  7. ATF is cheap and works well its used in automatic transmissions so the oil is thin and works under extreme loads. This can be bought for around 7-8 pounds per litre.

    280 Vs 300

I believe the way the engine is mapped is what makes the 280 bike more aggressive plus the carb my be different on jetting. Most top riders use 300`s with fly wheel weights.
  9. Yep if the gasser will be in good condition. 280 is a beast but the 300 is powerful yet tame. Id snap the chaps hand off and then try and see if you like the feel of the gasser if you can get use of one. All bikes are different in many ways so you need to try as i dislike Sherco but like gasser as its resposive in feel but is unforgiving unlike a Beta soft and planted.
  10. A smear of beef dripping and the buggers slide on no probs. This also allows some grip movement avoiding wrist fatigue
  11. Well could be worst ive stripped mine and rebuilt it only to do it again to have to replace main bearings and several gearbox bearings seals and an idle gear and then piston n rings little end cheer up yours is only a small issue
  12. Nightmare mine has turned into a
  13. I think you need to take it to an engineering firm and let someone who knows what to do with the right equipment deal with it. How is the nightmare we need updating
  14. undo the two front bash plate bolts to relieve some tension on the engine at the front. Ive just removed and reinstalled mine and found this helps loads as the engine is held under pressure from the rubber wedge between engine and bash plate. The opposite side from hex head is a nut strange round thing which will knock out as the frame as no threads. If all fails f*#k the paint job off, just cover in mud
  15. Ive just had similar problem on my Gasser and it was a roller bearing in the gearbox. Dropped oil and found small bits of bearing in the transmission oil and sump plug. Luckly i stopped riding and caught the fault in time so no damage done other than

    No Clutch

On a Gasser its on opposite side to chain drive unlike beta. Have you check the 5mm bolt which holds the clutch on as mine came loose.
  17. No mine does not have this problem you have. I would check all the overflow pipes on the carb make sure none are blocked.
  18. I would reckon you might get two laps in at 30 miles depending on what terrain youre riding over. You can purchase a extra tank to replace the number board form Lampkin Imports. Unless the terrain is very technical then you will be far too slow and risk getting in the way or being knocked down, plus ringing the life out of the bike. I talk from my experience of enduro racing on a Husaberg 400 which wasnt fast enough so went with a KTM 450. It is very unlike Trials riding as its every man for them self and this results in people getting bikes run over and damaged so keep this in mind and dont take if for a stroll in the park. All that said Good luck
  19. No dont do it as the rim is edged unlike a tube type and this will result in punctures at low pressure. I did this on Fantic 245 and had puncture after puncture.
  20. I thought that about Gassers after having Betas for years new as well. But ive got a Gasser and ive done far less work on it and its really reliable compared to the Betas ive had. In fact im going to hang onto it another year as just replaced rear shock bearings and greased everthing else. I do like Beta but the Carb never seen to be good the rear brake lever was poor and the flywheel cover always needed to be resealed. Airbox seemed to allow muck to pass through the filter. Im waiting to see long term the bike is good as it looks.
  21. The frame looks terrible in gold, almost as if a young kids done it with hammerite. Bring back the chrome or black chrome even better.
  22. I had this on my Aprilla 280 which after been stolen was returned as it never ran and the scum asked the wrong person how to fix it.I also had a shotgun cartridge trigger on the door which pulled a pin and activated the shotgun cartridge with shot removed. Forgot once and triggered it myself. An alarm is the first and best line of defence as chains can be got by as my friends have suffered.
  23. Scorpa can damage easy if dropped. Tank can hole and mark as can the engine case to which ive seen. My mate had one and hated it as we all did.
