5`s all round they all stopped, terrible scoring and openly fraudulent as its no stop. If the WTC cant stick to the rules what is the point of any rules regarding TRS22B.
-
I used the original exhaust shield and drilled the WES exhaust and used tapping screws.
-
Looks like a Sherco engine with GasGas rear end.
-
Where would you get a 2014 or 2015 in Europe.
As for flimsy my mate bought an 03 new and it fell over on the stand and the gear lever put an hole in the flywheel case as it was waffer thin. Tanks are very exposed unlike other trials bikes.
Next time i have a bag of crap to sell it will be Austria, 2000 euro for a shed, crazy money
-
I would avoid this bike as its very flimsy. Ive see tanks smashed clutch cases holed n even an engine break in halve. The carb is a nightmare to remove its subframe n exhaust off.
This is why they aren't in production still a poor bike and this one looks dire, glad you're not helping m buy a bike
-
Me too on 300 07. Mega bucks to buy casing and idle gear, thats how they stay in business.
-
I would get something newer as they are loads better to learn on than older bikes, ie lighter clutch better brakes all hydraulic and the rear shocks are great on new mono shocks. Upkeep of old bikes can weigh up to to the cost of a newer bike in the long run.
-
Looks like you need oil in the gear box to be honest. Kickstart looks okay just make sure bike is set up correctly and it should start upon quick sharp kick once enaged kickstart, just use choke n no throttle from cold and then some throttle when warm.
-
HaHa i did that bodge job on my Ty175 when i was a kid n could not afford new brake shoes. It Basically pushes the shoes further apart hence you cant fit your new ones, so remove the sleeve and they will fit.
-
i had a wes just center box and it is designed to be used with out rear silencer. It was quite and ran better than stock exhaust. I used the orginal exhaust heat shield and drilled the wes and use tapping screws to fit the heat shield and it look neat n sounded great.
-
Any time is a good time to buy unless your looking at newer bikes. Aviod the first release models ie GasGas txt and Sherco etc. I would with your buget go for Montesa 315r or Beta Rev3 both robust bikes. Sherco engines dont seem to last well never hear a few year old ones sounding nice. Gas Gas TXT Pro were flimsly until 2005 onwards, Scorpa seem fragile ive seen tanks holed n engine casings plus one engine break in halve.
I think you should be able to get 2002 -2004 for around £1000. Naturally check as much as you can as it could end up being costly so called bargin.
-
Yes you are correct mineral oil on clutch and Dot.4 on front brake. Just check mine and it does say it on the 2014 model on covers.
-
Its Dot.4 and if you have put mineral oil in to top up it will knacker the seals up. Air in the system makes it spongy and you have to usually pump it up to work not quite what you describe. Easy way to work air out that always works for me, take cover off the lever reserve making sure its flat not to loose fluid, then pump lever slowly and increase speed on the pumping of lever, wait a minute and i rattle the cables to allow air to rise and repeat. Make sure you have a rag at hand to make sure any Dot.4 fluid is not spilt as its harsh on paint.
This method gets rid of small amounts of air and if this fails its a complete bleed process that maybe required.

My mate pointed out a good point, why try and ride a section to only stop n 5 when you can paddle your way through for a 3.
-
Ive had Sidi Zero`s 3 pair and now use Alpinestars. The Sidi were shorter and siffer than the Alpinestars to which will soften up almost slipper comfort. The Sidi didnt protect my shin well and have a nice scar to prove from foot peg, plus they felt to me like your feet were in concrete blocks. The Sidi zero was a favorite with my mates and were all using Alpinestars so thats our choice
I cant comment on other boots but any new boot will be stiff and need wearing in
-
Only mandatory stop should be Pub afterwards.
-
I concur Zippy why try to ride harder or even learn as soon as you stop FIVE. not really easy to introduce people into a harsh scoring system.
-
Yes we often opt for anyone or mark each other then you get mates or mums n dads not exactly professional and this is in Yorkshire. Dont think my wife would give a 5h!t about no stop rule n argue with riders if she observered. I explained the no stop rules n she said sounds a nightmare no thanks however stop she understood and did obserever once, sadly she found it boring.
I actively try to avoid no stop as its unfair open to cheating and beginners loose out. If it all went no stop i would pack in as much as i love the sport n spend alot on bikes n equipment. Enduro would be be what id go back to best flat out using all skills no silly rules.
-
I only know of a rider that had a 300 Racing n could get hold of a new one so bought a 2013 Beta 300 n hated it. I have a 2014 300 Racing n rode 300 n 250 Beta and find them planted if you know what i mean and the Gasser light n lively. I think both have there merits but its down to you as the rider.
The Beta engine is 20 years old and seems like it to me heavy n not a great clutch. Gasser on the other hand is weak on the gearbox n kickstart if abused.
Best bet try them if you can
-
Yes and we always get a full set of professional observers at every no stop trial.
-
No stop is flawed to the point its often not worth riding them and i try at best to avoid them. Example one section the obsever stuck to no stop n i stopped for near on a second n fived it as my mate cleaned it, next section the observer allowed stops to which i didnt stop n yes my mate stopped n got the clean, so for me the results meant nothing. Top riders get away with murder on no stop ive seen endless fives that never appear on results.
My next point is beginners stop a hell of alot and for them it must be disheartening learing process to battle through a section whilst the observer is marking a 5 and turning away to chat.
No stop does need better sections than stop permitted as we lose land this makes for some trials trying to use very tight turns to make the trial worth while but impossible no stop.
The sport to watch looks boring no stop and youngsters like to hop n bop with alot doing bycycle trials that wouldnt look to motorcycle trials as a step up as its going backwards to the good old days no stop n heavier bikes. It would be interesting to poll the age group that do like no stop.
This sport needs Martin Lampkin at top level to help out as he came gave us a great indoor trial, not backward thinking to days of old.
-
This method works as a 315R ran full tilt n just slipped clutch in gear with brake on, kill button did nothing so in vain pulled spark plug cap off ouch! still ran on.
Firstly pull on throttle cable n hope it frees off, failing that lay the bike on its side n put the choke on this floods n cool the motor n slows it down and turn fuel off and it will stop. As said dont turn fuel off whilst running full tilt big risk to seizing.
-
Mmmm so you couldnt get one let alone the racing so opted for cheapest. I simply cant concur with that statement,
-
I still have the flywheel weight but happy to leave bike as is. Everyone thats ridden my bike comment how smooth it is n soft. The rear shock is noticable compared to stock bike too.
-
I currently have a 2014 300 racing and prior to that i had 07 300 pro and 11 250 pro. The 250 was terrible to ride compared to the 300`s as i ride the 300`s with simple mod of slow action throttle n 10 tooth sprocket, however the 250 i did this plus low comp head and flywheel weight. The 250 is very snappy and has little torque thus i never got on with it hence another 300. The 300 pulls softly from bottom end and will forgive you if your in to high a gear yet its not an handful just smooth constant power unlike the 250 in my opinion.
Two other friends had 250`s and one hated it n sold it and the other did some mods to tame it down, they now ride Beta 4t 300 and Sherco Cabby 305 so that tells you how big bikes are not always aggressive as people often make out. It depends on year of bike as they often change as i recall the 07 300 mine was smooth yet the 07 280 was a complete beast.
