  1. Wonder what will actually cross the finishing line. Also it could be great to follow it around and then rebuild youre own after the event. Joking apart i hope all goes well as we need more than current input into trials as the current choice to years gone by is limited.

    2008 300 Pro

I have a 300 and will get another as it does have shed loads of torgue and doesn`t snap like the 280.
  3. I have the 300 and change to slow action throttle to which made the bike alot better for me. Its not over powerful but is smooth with great bottom end. I would buy another as ive never suffered with the power and feel it is as said not to revvy. Before o bought my bike I rang Gas Gas uk and spoke with sorry forgot who, but helpful chap which said that a decent novice/inter should be ok with a 300. Best to try one first if you can.
  4. Clice is good but the most popular will be Hebo if you want to blend in. I would avoid bike named clothing as if you change machine its never a good look. One piece is Gay and shouts look at me im ace.
  5. I bet the 4 stroke Gas Gas would be awesome if Ducati used the ohc system it uses. Heard its heavy so i guess the Trials iron wouldnt see it.
  6. My flywheel came loose and this caused an electrical failure. Also make sure the spark plug is screwed well onto HT lead as ive known failures due to it.
  7. Is that the guy who came second at Sheffield? He`s probably forgotten how to mix two stroke after 3 years, so wait and see.

Hi PennyB,I have a 2006 Raga 300, been riding at expert level for many years now. This is a beginner we are talking about not even novice. Ive never ridden a road bike but ill buy a Yam R1 for starter bike and see how i go. If i were you, post this on general chat for more responses and a better overall view. As for Scorpa im not a fan as ive seen loads of damaged ones. Friend had one which blew over in wind and the gear selector put a hole in the thin casing. Lost count of cracked tanks at

Its about the worst bike to learn on i can think of. Its an out and out expert bike only and i dont see many experts at top level on them. It will spin, flip and rip youre arms out and the end result wll be you knackered having to whip and tame the beast. The standard 300 which i have is far smoother but i would look to a 250 or even a 200 to learn on as power is not something you need when starting out. Trials is hard enough but if you end up having to constantly fight the bike then you will slow the learning process. I have done some big events and seen some decent riders on Raga`s and later in the day they seemed to be just hanging on for dear life. Dont rush in and wait for more advise.
  11. Ive just hung my air filter box on the window, it makes for a great window garden box. Wonder what grows init come spring. Must say i am amazed the bike does not get crap in the carb so the filter seems to work well regardless to the poor airbox design. I never remember ty 175 ,Fantic 245 or Aprilla climbers having the issues so the seat access is really the problem i guess.
  12. I was in your position having had Beta rev3 bikes since 2001 and took the plunge and bought an 07 300 txt last year. I ride it far better and will buy an 09 Gas Gas next as they are all about as reliable as each other. You can pick holes in the gasser as much as you can a beta but at the end of the day it comes down to you and youre spanners and wd40. I would say ride one for an hour or two in proper trials conditions to get a feeling of the bike.
  13. Bet Bou did it to point out Raga would do same all night. Shame to lose Raga as i think it would of made for a very interesting 2nd place challenge. I now seeing Bou ride at 21 some 10 years younger than Douige think that he can exceed in Wtc titles. Happy New Year to all
  14. I think the Bou on the skips was the best for larking around. The Cusworths section by Bou was best ride of the night.
  15. Yep thats right results. Brown had problems but it was put down to cold bike however it still seem to cause problems so switched to spare bike. I think he rode out of is skin with all the issues and will be a great rider for the future wtc. Bou is just unnatural with no one within 50% of him. Dougie did us justice but its was just and only just beyond him on 2 sections. Good night in all but felt the sections did not push the riders enough compared to previous years.
  16. Alpinestars are the best thing i have ever worn in regards to boots.
  17. I dont believe you can alter the timimg on a Gas Gas. I dont have problems starting the bike but that said the kick is short as it hits the foot pegs. I would try a slow action throttle first as its cheapest and in my view the first option to try. The standard is white fast action and black is slow action to which made a great deal of difference to my bike. I also find that a Gasser does warm up quickly and seems to cool quickly to often requiring the choke which on Beta never had to use once fired up. Just ran like it was on bloody choke most of time anyway compared to gasser. Did you resolve the noise on your bike?
  18. Ive had three pair of Sidi Zero boots and have now got alpinestars. Sidi are like lead with no grip and all the stiching which is loads comes apart. wished id bought Alpinestars in the first place. I have a huge scar as well partly due to the Sidi boots as they are a short boot not covering much of the shin.
  19. Sounds like it might be the chain that tends to slap, which if you ride on the road can often bug the hell out of you. Also check all frame fittings as a loose bolt on the bash plate swinging arm etc will create noise.
  20. Mmmmmmm sounds and looks like the over head cams gone in my opinion. would be nice to see it indoor at Sheffield
  21. OH! i thought for a moment it was something you did over youre brand new bike.
  22. Ive got a 300 and have riden 250 and 280. The 300 is great its got power but is unlike the 280 which seems to have a power band and a poor bottom end. I forgot who advised me at GasGas, nice chap that expland the 280 was a beast and the 200 250 and 300 would be idea bikes for me. The 300 pulls bottom end great and yet as loooooooads of go if you need it with out getting away from you. Did change to slow action throttle which made the bike right for me. I tried a 280 and never got round a section we were riding as it just spun up every time making it impossible for me, yet on other bikes got round no problems.
  23. What in the Lords teeth is a splatter? is that the finished product.
  24. Olive oil light as it makes youre bike weigh 1kg lighter. Lard is to be avoided at all costs as it makes the clutch drag from cold. ATF is about best and cheapest. Its automatic transmission fluid which you can get from any motorist shop. Its thin and works under extreme loads.
  25. Hopping came easy to me i just told the wife i was out for the following 3 sundays. I began on the flat marking out a figure of eight to use both turning circles. 1st make it tight but rideable no hops to ensure clutch and throttle control. 2nd step is to tighten the figure of eight up and use front end hops finding the technic you like ie physical or clutch and throttle blipping. 3rd step is hardest to do, the rear. Me and my mates now ride gasser`s and wind the pre load right off to make it liverly on return which results in touch front brake, preload rear then sort off jump up and forward. Bingo over the handle bars. My mates son had some lessons and was told to rev the bike quite hard to gain blance if require as it acts like a giroscope. Ive tired this and does seem to work to. Oh well must hop along season`s greetings
