  1. The third was always a spare ment for loosing, like the extra bolt " where the fcuk did this go ? " Two should be enough to keep it located as a lot of bikes only have two
  2. I found Sidi to be useless, like concret blocks n low on shin scar to prove. They have to many bits n soon the stitching comes undone. Alpine stars are like slippers n grip well, also last well I've abused mine n 5 years on still useable
  3. WOW slow motion makes anyone look good, Miami Vice ? not sure. Great video id like summat like that so i could look back as an old fart, nearly there.
  4. Still you need to check the idle gear thats usually the first thing to suffer heavy kick starting. Remove allen bolt in centre of clutch basket and lift off, then undo circlip on the small gear that the kick start paw gear youre refering to as damaged connects to on use. Remove the gear and its most likely damaged on the engine facing side. Once rebuilt with new parts run with oil short period then replace oil to ensure a clean flush out of iron filings. You then need to resolve the poor starting and use the correct method kicking it up or you ll be back to square one.
  5. Why run the bike ? It's mechanical unlikely to fix its self more likely you'll flush iron fillings around gearbox and main bearings then you're in the sh!t. Don't run it fix it. It's a 20 min job to drop clutch case of n remove idle gear which it's most likely to be damaged.
  6. I've had both issues roller bearings go n idle gear. Don't use it until 100% located the issue. It's most likely idle gear this resides behind the clutch basket and the face you see will be ok however engine side may not be, remove it n inspect. Next it's a engine split as my roller cage was at fault. Result I replace every bearing in gear box as not worth risk of damaged bearing failure later on due to iron fillings Best of but be 100% sure of issue as said bag n big bucks if ignored
  7. Yes the older model certainly did me mates used them and gave me lifts, so the current model seems larger. We went to France n nailed a brand new 03 plate all the way to Chamonix and i mean nailed foot on the floor 100 plus. I was amazed how good on fuel it was on that trip cant remember MPG however i recall being surprised on not filling it up to often. It drove fairly well as we all did a stint and since then fancied one but i have company cars, id have one tomorrow.
  8. Im in s yorks n not sure where to go come sunday, Addingham or Mansfield Longcliff. Addingham is just a mass of rocks a real bike breaker but never been to longcliff. is owt on better ? or what would you pick.
  9. Liquid metal and I doesn't go off
  10. Boo heres the ebay Racing 300 item no 320897334562
  11. How mad is this or am I . 1990 several times me n a friend rode from Doncaster up A1 to Patley Bridge then green laned all day with nothing more than
  12. Most likely Honda as of today. Yamaha gave us mono shock n Aprilla I think beat Beat to water cooled. Honda as always had the biggest budget and most investment hence the domination like it or not when interested in winning
  13. A mate mixed some avgas some years back n must admit it ran like a factory bike, just sounded sweet as we both have same bikes
  14. One on eBay already so racing at 4 k not much value already

    Bottom End

I have a 011 250 having come from a 300. The issue I have is it's very snappy off bottom end unlike 300, so I put a flywheel weight on and that has smoothed of the bottom end and I riders alo better. A different carb would alter power I guess , but I wished I'd gone for 300
  16. Stupid bike good for what? drop the suspension on a exc n stick X11`s on job done. A Honda XR250 sorted in the right hands will do wonders, its the only bike i could ride through the gears and go round corners on the back wheel, great bike. I struggled on a KTM450 exc to keep up with a decent rider on a sorted XR250 on green lanes at speed to.
  17. Might want to hook a turbo charger up to it.
  18. Carb easy to remove then with fuel line on make sure the float arms, usually brass can be lifted upwards and cease petrol flow thus eliminating float function. Next bend the arms down 1-2mm this will reduce petrol level in carb oh and check the floats are ok. Rad replace cap as its most likley old, make sure youve not got water in transmission oil it will look milky if so. If fault still persists remove rad and all pipes and check water can flush through, plus remove water pump and check condition. If this fails refer to my first post

    S3 Pipe

Talked to a chap with one on a 290 and he'd change reeds, sounded nice and he found it quicker.
  20. Most likley both, cheap then clean up the wheel n put trye weld in if still leaking.
  21. A two stroke is dependant on exhaust pressure, so sort that out then go from there.
  22. Most clubs are ACU so you most likely can enter a trial and ask for a ACU application number form the club then apply online. Dont worry about making a fool of yourself 98% of us do it all the time, i have ridden for years yet still make an ass of me self now and again, its not like motorcross full of up them own asses people. Just try we all like a have ago harry.
  23. It's definatly linked to riding at tong as Gregs went after riding at tong as did two other of me mates n another rider I know. It's not club related more venue as one was an enduro and different clubs. Maybe they watch you load the bike up and take your reg no then trace it or follow you? Sickening. Hope you get them back
