This event is soon to be upon us and a great event it is.
Has everyone who wants a ride sent off their entry yet?? i believe they are closing soon...be quick.
The sections are being set out over the next two weeks but may be subject to change depending on the weather, but as usual they will be nice and tight just like you classic round riders like them
I will be observing as usual sitting next to my sherco, so if your riding, say hi and who knows, i may blink as you take that elusive dab
p.s. if you havent got an entry yet and cant find the regs, pm me.
-
.............any "special" kind of tobacco you recommend
-
Im doing a flywheel cover at the moment at the engineering place in my village......
One of the workers reckons it will take about 45mins on the cnc machine.
How long did it take you then????
-
Next time i take mine apart i have some rubbery plastic wshers about quarter of a mm thick and may put these inbetween the large metal washers and the frame mounts, who knows, i may have made an ingeneous idea
-
I like the look of These and theyre cheap, they also claim they are waterproof
-
I have an 06 290 and whilst giving the linkage their monthly re-grease today, and having the shock in my hand, i noticed the spring tension collar was on the last pitch of thread. I remember last month there was more thread showing and it seems it is undoing itself. (Why no lock ring??)
Ive heard about the shocks coming apart, but only on early 06 models (this ones april 06).
I should also say i could turn the collar by hand and turned it about 5 turns and have put a line of tippex to see if it moves again on sunday.
Has anyone else had experience of the collar coming undone as i really wouldnt want it to come completely off.
-
This? Is what everyone replaces the useless headlight with.......
-
HERE have the motion pro bleeders which may work, not too sure though. (theyre in the accessories bit about 10 pages in) If not why not just slowly undo the caps??
You did pretty damm good on sunday, even with these unbled forks
-
Clever me decided i would break my disc guard on sunday
So, ive ordered another one (07 one looks better) and was wondering how to actually fit it??
1st bolt is simple, but its the one in the bottom of the fork leg that has me stumped, it seems all the oil will come out if removed, will this happen? if so is it just simply removing fork leg and turning upside down?
Any help much appreciated
-
oh yeah, silly me.
As you said earlier, what about the 4t mudguard? surely the same plastic as the 06, why dont you ask the previous owner if he knows if they fit your rather nice bike??
-
Why not fit an 06 mudguard, they seem really flexible compared to all the other years?? I saw one fold in half yeserday without even cracking.
Or get a sherco??
-
unlucky...........
i smashed my front disc cover today, not quite up to your standards yet.......
-
hmmm that sounds a bit odd barry
couple of people rond here use sherco mudguards cos theyre so flexible, or an old techno mudguard will work
-
cable tie it on............simple..........like me
-
I would seriously consider a montesa 315 (2 stroke), You say about this large area of land and with one of these, you can either fly round the place, jump it, or even trial it
Also you appear to want to chuck it in the shed and use it as and when you want to, this bike wont mind that, unlike some other brands like gassers and sherco's (i own a sherco)
I have never owned a montesa, but my mate has one, never looks after it properly and its fine mechanically and it has been covered in mud for about a year.........
hope you have fun.
-
Dont worry spud, betas are a lot easier and cheaper to fix than gassers.
As for the brittleness of the mudguards, i found the original one on my sherco to be a lot less flexible than the new one i got. Maybe its like the gassers with that road mudguard they come with??
Barry; Why didnt you get the titanium hangers as well?? what with all that money stuff you seem to have lots of.......why not waste it???
-
...mmmm Z3... sexiest car ever
I think you'll have to ask this wierdo

Where did the frame break - I've had one or 3.5 years now & you've got me worried! Was this wear & tear or the result of a stunt?
the two down tubes had snapped as did the two top tubes, the frame was very rusty inside as well. It snapped landing a tiny jump though..........
-
hmmm all i get is station finder.
-
Only arrow shaped scars, barry????
I have a NIKE tick ........... Beat that..
As for the pedals, have you ever ridden clipped in?? I have and when that goes wrong its VERY funny to watch
-
But with better build quality hopefully.
I take it you have personal experience of their poor build quality then??
My mate has one...............snapped frame..................snapped steerer tube.............only good thing is the engine
-
Seems like it would make an ideal pampera replacement............
-
HOW DOES PERCE FIND A SHEEP IN LONG GRASS???
IRRESISTABLE
-
pick it up by the silencer and feel for any movement around the shock as you pick it up...
Also ask questions about how often its had oil changes etc. and if its had a rebuild.
p.s. whats the item number for the sherco so we can have a look
-
I had a friend who broke one elbow (my fault) and he had to change hands.........but both hmmm use a cats scratching post???
