I know this is gonna sound strange, but I had a similar problem with my 04. It would kick back when starting in gear, but in neutral it would be fine. I had noticed that the clutch was dragging a bit, but had gotten used to it. I didn

hmm..looks to me like an M158, about 1975.

Never heard of Jizer, If all your trying to do is get the goo out, I would think any automotive type degreaser should work. This method won't do anything for carbon buildup. On the bike I did. I actually put the parts washer hose in one end and let it run for almost the hole two days. It smelled really nasty when I put it back on the bike, but like I said, after it dryed out it was fine. When you look at the cost of a new part its worth the effort, even if it doesnt work.

Don't know exactly what chemical name it was, but it was a product supplied by "Safety Clean" as part of a contract service. I don't think its any different than any other OSHA (or what ever your countries equivalent safety administration is called) approved degreaser.

I had an 02 2.9 that sounded like a vintage flat tracker. I soaked the exhaust for a couple of days in a non caustic non flamable degreaser and allowed to drain over night. When I put it back on the bike it didnt sound much better, but as the bike was ridden it continued to dry out until it sounded normal again. 1 year later it still sounds good.

can't tell much from the pic, chances are if it looks good, who ever had it took some care of it. For the linkage, lift the rear end by the muffler and feel for play. If there is none your doing good, if there is alot (you feel it clunk)you can count on replacing the bearings.

Yes, i'll never sell it. Along with my 199B i have one each of the last great bultaco trials bikes.

I have a 99 Jarvis replica, bought it new. Liked it so much I became a dealer.
Take good care of the air filter and look to make sure that it doesn

Get the pipe, a length of PVC from your local builder supply will do just fine. you dont need a hammer, the seal will push in almost using finger pressure. the pipe allows you to apply force evenly around the seal as you push it in.
good luck

I have found the Kuroyama Renthals to be pretty close to the sherco bend. The Sherco stock bars are nice but for a heavy guy like me they seem to flex on the hard landings. I found the Renthals give me more feeling of stability with no flex.

Has anyone even tried a 2006 3.2 yet?
-
Getting ready to order this years bike, I've already had three 2.9s and two 2.5s.
considering the 4t. Looking for opinions from you guys who have made the switch. Is it worth it??? Don't hold back now, I can take it...

The internal wrenching side (LT) clockwise mwkes the spring tighter. I beleave clockwise on the knob restricts fluid on the right fork.
-
Yes I have seen the new ones, but they only come with the 199a grapics. I suppose If I wait long enough they'll do the 199b as well.

Dabster: Thanks for the reply, any tricks you can tell me for getting the decals to stay on the tank, or is there a special kind. I've puchaced decals from Hughs and they bubble and peal off. The new reproduction tanks from sammy don't come with the decals for the 199b.

What are the differences between a Vesty/Reynolds replica, a standard comerfords bike and a 199B purchaced in the states? Can you tell anything by the s/n? How maney of each were produced?
-
retored mine twice now, its no Sherco but I just can't let her go. Beautiful bike awsome ride. Wish there was a 199b web site, love to know more about them.
-
Try www.rypusa.com the Scorpa front end is made by the same people as the Front end on the Sherco.
Good Luck

Good luck with the hunt.

B&J Racings, Bob Ginder, does complete rebuilds. He can also modify the shock to provide for variable damping.

charlie, Stick with the sherpa. Ive had ossa's and montesa's in my shop (some have never left) they're all nice. But you can't beat the parts availability of the Bul's. I have a 123 cota that I've been scrounging parts for, for a very long time. Its just not worth it. maybe its different where you live now, if so, let me know, maybe I can still make that 123 go. In any case, I prefer to ride my bikes. The Bul's are great, and all you gotta do is stop by Hugh's and you can have your pick of any year sherpa ever made, already restored, or do it yourself.

Yep, put one on my 01. Bolted right on. Plastic rotor guard did'nt fit back on though.
-
Must be a gravity thing, my 2.9 weighs 154 lbs.

Brian R,
Check the top end for oil, some of the early TL's had faulty oil pumps. The little gears in the pump would crack and the pump would fail. Oil would not get to the top end and eventually it would sieze. The first symptom would be over heating. Ive seen two bikes that this happened to. Granted, this was when they first came out whith the bikes and it is unlikely that yours could suffer from this problem. but I thought I would mention it anyway.
Good luck!!
