  1. The rubber pad should stop the noise ,,,,you will have to drill a hole through the frame and bash plate so that it can be bolted on with a small bolt and nut 6mm in size.
  2. Where you have the Snails now is the ideal position ...nothing wrong with the position in that picture.
  3. Sounds like your chain and sprockets may be worn out and you will get more adjustment available on the snails with a new chain that will be shorter in length with the same number of links.
  4. I think you may need to check that your wheel is lined up correctly.that may make the chain noisey on the sprockets
  5. part number 46 in 2005 2006 and 2007 GasGas pro parts books in CHASSIS PAGE 7 ....its the chain slipper pad that you say is only starting to be used on the 2013 model.
  6. A piece of rubber/plastic slipper pad will put a stop to that.......this is a job for b40rt.
  7. No they don't ......you do not need one I work in the industry[ NOT FOR FEET UP though] and was just trying to get a sale sorry I will come clean. your chain rattling is caused by something unknown. it must be bouncing around on something metal .....good luck finding it.
  8. No it didn't I just fitted one recently on my 06 GasGas pro .....and I have a few spare ones on the shelf for future use.
  9. Forget the 04 parts manual the frame rubber should be on there just like all the other years. have them.
  10. You just need the small rubber pad that protects the frame tube where the rear of the bash plate bolts to the frame......it is held on by the outer bolt in your picture... £7.75 inc p+p from Feetup trialsport in Scarborough.
  11. Happy days then ....good luck with the rebuild. The SHOWA unit is supposed to be the best shock of all available for the 4RT anyway
  12. Sorry thought it was in relation to the Michael Jackson incident.
  13. Yes MONTESA used the new type of rim for many years and so did BETA who then oddly changed to the MORAD rim with the rubber sealing band in 1999 on the last version of the TECHNO model.and carried on fitting it to the Rev3 models and the first EVO model........... You can get that rim in the picture from JITSIE... the cost is approx. 300 euros and a set of spokes would be over 100 euros......you can buy a JITSIE complete built wheel with that rim and a 4 bolt spocket carrier hub for approx. 500 euros

    2019 gearing?

Email GasGas in Spain and ask them if they changed the primary gear or whatever. when they went to a 39 rear.
  15. I think SHOWA rear shock is difficult to get repaired in your country........www.splatshop.co.uk sell OHLINS replacement shocks just under £500 bolt straight on and www.roadandtrials sell a Jitsie TRP new rear shock for your bike at £425.00 or www.jbanyeres.com in Spain will repair it for approx. 325.00 euros + carriage there and back of course [not that cheap] ST Blazeys MX in Cornwall sell 4rts they may be able to point you in right direction for a repair or buying a SHOWA shock.
  16. Dude what I said isn't off topic its actually very pertinent to the topic .....you must never have worn a pair of Gaernes.

    Carburetor

When you put the choke on this puts more fuel into the motor to encourage the thing to run and as it is getting more fuel than it normally would and the air going into the motor is cold the revs pick up .....this as copemech said is totally normal[happens to the majority of carby bikes and you can control this speed of revs by closing the choke slightly. You seem eager to go racing you will probably need all sorts of aftermarket parts along with some high rise MX bars and full waffle grips etc,you can find these racing parts at www.handdracing.co.uk ...and also at www.jbanyeres.com .....both have parts such as straight through mufflers and a flat slide KEIHIN PWK 28 carburettor to boost power etc ...everything a racer could want for that bike ,Good luck
  18. If you have not had Gaernes before and are used to a boot that is quite supportive then you may like to try wearing some sandals with socks on your next practice session to get a feel for the Gaernes without flashing the cash.......... By the way what nigel nobster says at the end of this thread shows what an absolute cxxt he is.
  19. Interesting stuff..... which factory; did you ask them what the reason was for the importance of using mineral based oils over fully synthetics ..............................................................
  20. There are no trials models that GasGas made that used a black rim with a silver shoulder, just silver, Titanium in 2010 and Raga bikes and solid black on the newer bikes it was Beta and Sherco that used them...........MORAD rims supplied all the manufacturers of modern trials bikes with that same rim in the era when that type of rear tubeless rim was being used....it actually is still in use on some full sized wheel 80 cc trials bikes and on the GasGas CONTACT models that have silver anodised wheels.
  21. Don Smith would love to have a go on that.
  22. A 125 pro will run fine at 100:1 with fully synthetic oil when you are thrashing it to death[ I know I have done it] ....but any amount from 32:1 upto 80:1 will work fine as you would never use a mix of 100:1 as I can tell that you are a more is better mixer. There are no differences in the 2004 2005 2006 125 pro cylinder and pistons or main bearings that give a need for a special amount of oil that differs between the years. The difference in the amount of oil you use will be seen in the amount of oilly gunge that collects in the exhaust system.
  23. Seems like you are the kind of rider that could justify buying a new bike and then change it every 6 months and put an end to all the work you keep doing on the bike.
  24. For your weight you should really use a heavier spring ....the standard spring is for riders that weigh approx. 80kg.
  25. Your bike should have a SHOWA rear shock if it is standard and these are the settings Spring length 133mm ..........with preload 126.5mm Nitrogen pressure 1.35 Mpa [13 kg/cm3] Rebound adjuster 10 + or - 2 clicks from full resistance.
