  1. Regarding the inner tube palaver..what I said about tubes in tubeless tyres on a tubeless rim is called sarcasm ......I would have thought it completely obvious to anyone with some sense that the designers and manufacturers of the tubeless rim and the tubeless tyres did not do so because they had some time to kill.[of course the real reason for it is to lighten the rear wheel/tyre as a unit..no tube ...no rim lock... to make it easier to hop the rear wheel about and general weight saving for trick riding with the bonus that the tyre carcass flexes well and improves grip and also puncture repairs during a trial can be done without taking the wheel off the bike let alone dismounting any part of the tyre].. .yes there were some Xispas sold in the UK and yes there were not many because of the lawsuit taken out by Sherco in France against Xispa because of the similarity to the design of the Xispa and the Sherco around the year 2008/2009 models that cut short the continued production of the Xispa 250/280R ......There have been a few Xispa R bikes up for sale over the years on Ebuy in the UK and Sandiford off road had one up for sale when he was involved with Xispa.also a UK MX breaker had a complete Xispa.R broken for parts about 2013ish ......Haven Trials sport were the UK importer of the full size trials bikes at the time of production. RAS sport near Huddersfield had one for sale at one time with a SHERCO cylinder fitted such were the similarities between the two bikes.
  2. Tap it lightly all the way around the outside with a rubber mallet or a block of wood .....it is stuck to the gasket .....DO NOT pry it off with a screw driver .....warming the outer casing only with a hair drier on max heat or a heat gun may help ..but usually just tapping it will move it.......gently though and tap it where the screws go through the casing its stronger there
  3. A 120/100X18 is the metric equivalent of a 4.00 X18 tyre............ tyres and rims that are designed to be tubeless are pointless.the designers were just saving money by not having to include a tube.....a tube fitted in a tubeless tyre set up is much better;you should definitely fit one it is the best upgrade you could have....by the way your rim is not a standard GasGas rim it has come off a Beta a Sherco or Xispa although it is the same as the standard rim that would have been anodised silver like your front rim
  4. The bits you want are on the inside of the casing opposite where the impeller is ...you do not need to take the clutch apart. You have confused the clutch pressure plate with the clutch cover ..the outside casing that keeps the oil in the clutch area.
  5. Yes it is common only way to prevent it would be to take your tyre off very often and wipe the rim clean on the inside .The valve is not special it is just a certain size ....just buy one at a trials dealer it will be the easiest way to obtain one. the corrosion is caused by water and oxygen in the air that you put in the tyre and also water in the lubricant that has been used to fit/remove the tyre........if you use washing up liquid as a lubricant to mount your tyres[ooer missus] this is quite acidic usually and so will only accelerate this corrosion https://youtu.be/q-RVJyNpfDk
  6. 2,367 for me against 9,331 for him,and he reckons that I talk too much.
  7. Drain the oil and then take the clutch cover off and acess the water pump drive gear and spindle from the inside of the case for removal and seal fitting etc......If you lay the bike on its side when you take the cover off you will not get oil dribbling everywhere,
  8. That is normal but can be sorted so that it leaks air much slower or if your lucky not at all for a while....... it is a well known problem with all those type of rims........Clic on this https://youtu.be/k290LeBasws There are a few ways to ensure a good seal such as using sika flex or tiger seal around the edges of the sealing band where it meets the rim or use a heavy duty sealant around the spoke nipples and the hole in them where the spoke screws in ......but of course all these methods of sealing create difficulties if you want to tighten any spokes.
  9. Everything fits straight on except If you fit a BRICTOK mono calliper the fitting is 8mm for the hose connecting into the calliper so you would need a hose[not cheap] with an 8mm fitting as well as the master cylinder and calliper........it will be better as it will be new components but probably the disc and pads are the important bit as an old scored disc and glazed dirty brake pads do not work as well as they should. You need Galfer pads aswell The old system will work very well with no leaks[new seal kits possibly needed if leaking now]] and properly bled with fresh dot 4 and a new NG or Galfer disc[ if they make one that fits your year] and either Galfer 1805 GF or Goldfren S33 pads. Your bike should have a fixed disc and not a 'floating' one[moves about slightly on the hub carrier] so make sure if you order a disc you get the correct hole size for the mountings .i.e the smaller holes.

    TE

TY is the trial model in the Yamaha model range the same as YZ is their MX model and DT their Trail model ....RD etc etc etc ......TY = TRIAL and it is an electric bike that has been designed to ride trials The Sherco TY has a 125 Yamaha ttr based motor in it ...hence the TY ......Sherco is connected to Scorpa and Scorpa used to fit Yamaha motors in their trials motorcycles.
  11. A second hand Airoh TRR or new MOTS GO2 2018 is £112 on Ebay in' used trials helmets' or a Hebo Zone 4 fibreglass in 'Hebo trials helmets'
  12. Fencing with grass and a grey sky ?
  13. use bing as a search engine and put in 'fantic coach images' and you will find an image of a bike similar to yours showing decal positions.
  14. I agree but the rules are all over the place... Lineway knows what you can and cannot do, he has observed at World trials in the USA and that video that the FIM had made to show what was acceptable and what was not is out of date......the problem is that they still refer to the rules as non stop and that is clearly not the case, it needs to be updated to non stop with stop allowed ....their interpretation of the word stop is different to a dictionary definition so it is pointless trying to understand the marking system .When a bike can have 1 wheel stopped yet the other can be considered to be making progress its time to enjoy the sheer madness of it all and accept that the results mean nothing.
  15. Going by the FIM rule then he fived it a lot more than five times ......but going by rules that have been made up by observers then he cleaned it. ...personally I go with the he cleaned it and if I observed a World round I would mark the riders as most observers do and give the riders 3 seconds stopping time allowance before receiving a penalty those 3 seconds would be counted on a digital watch or no doubt all the riders would end up with fives on every lap of my section.
  16. I am very confused by the spokes stopping which would mean the wheels would not be turning which would mean that the bike would be stopped. I think that you are saying that the rules allow a rider to hop the bike up and down on the spot for any amount of time without penalty because the bike will be in motion and that the bike can make a 180 degree turn in a section and ride back where it just came from and in a direction that is moving in the opposite direction from the next set of markers that are to be passed through/between without penalty.........obviously in certain cases this will be the way the path through the section takes the rider and machine but I am not referring to that type of situation.
  17. At 1m 11s Raga's rear wheel turns anti clockwise [looking at the bike from the side that it appears in the video] or backwards...... if his wheel is touching the ground as it is then unless he has a reverse gear and the bike is skidding forwards[which he has not and it is not] then that means the bike is not going forward at the moment that the wheel turns anti clockwise and if that is the case then the bike must be stationary or going backwards.the observer saw this and he blows the whistle for a five only a moment after this had happened. I agree there was always movement his arms and legs were moving etc but I thought we had already established that the FIM rule is that the machine must not cease to move in a forward direction relative to the course this obviously being a forward direction starting from the section start markers toward the next two markers and so on until the bike passes through the section ends markers. I am with heffergm on this because everyone seems to have differing interpretations of what stop and forward means and so the answer is to go back to anything goes rules including reversing and hopping sideways etc and have sections that take 1 minute 30 seconds [or possibly upto 2 mins to complete] as before.
  18. He didn't fare well with my observing as he stopped four times and went backwards all in the space of about 7 seconds.
  19. I see the revision to the rules being put into use everytime I watch a video of a TrialGP round and see the score card of zero marks lifted above an observers head after having just watched the riders machine cease to move in a forward direction relative to the course around 15 times per section ......this revision is not written in the regulations it has just been adopted universally by observers as they realise that obviously the riders would become disheartened if the letter of the rules was upheld regarding non stop and they would be receive 5 marks for 90% of the sections ridden............As has already been said before the sections are set as if they were for a stop allowed event and need to be set with the idea that riders are not allowed to stop.
  20. Those are just the old rules, they could not be bothered to make the new video for the revised rules which is strange because for the revised rules video all they had to do was change all the red crosses in red boxes to green ticks in red boxes in that video ..not that much work and cost I would not have thought.
  21. Well those last 2 pieces of Scorpa information seem to be a little bit more accurate than some.
  22. 1985 was a very lucky year for me. I will not bore you with the details its personal.
  23. That was lucky then .....It did not give a date on the clip.
  24. You need to read up on the history of Scorpa and Sherco ..... back in the late 1990'sthe co-owner of Scorpa [Marc Teissier a French Supermarket chain owner] left Scorpa to do his own thing and decided to re kindle the Bultaco brand as a trials motorcycle because of a disagreement with his business partner at Scorpa over making a Scorpa's own designed motor[at the time they had started with Rotax motors and then went to Yamaha motors]anyway there were licensing problems with using the name Bultaco in some countries where they wished to sell trials motorcycles and so to solve the problem they chose SHERCO as the brand name [Sher from the Bultaco trials model the Sherpa T and CO from Company] .......When Scorpa later was going bust the owner of Sherco motorcycles[previously a co-owner/founder of Scorpa] decided to buy Scorpa and bring it back to life [at that time the Scorpas under Sherco ownership still had a frame and parts that were originally designed forYamaha motors that was until the Yamaha motors became too expensive to import along side notification from Yamaha that they were considering stopping production ........this is when Sherco motors started to be used in place of the Yamaha motors and the model changed from the Sy to the SR.....So yes you have a Sherco motor in your Scorpa [in the Twenty type model] with Scorpa on the casings but its tuning specs are different to a Sherco ST motor they are Scorpa designed specs giving different characteristics to the motor. As you said the frame and parts are different....they look similar but are not exactly the same design. The Scorpa is not just a Sherco painted orange. As I said the Scorpa design is the original and the Sherco is the copy and came after the Scorpa even if the two companies have the same owner and both bikes share the same motor;albeit in different states of tune. Teissier's old business partner at Scorpa went on to found E Motion electric trials machines.
