  1. just treated myself to a bp6evx for my beta ,previous posts seemed to think they were now unavailable, but i have just got one from pro parts direct from ngk, cost me just over
  2. If we are talking about the batch mr mawlem has had produced then read clasic dirt bike issue 5 ,there is a write up in there and it says i quote....the only dimensional differences between the godden and the new whitlock frames is the relocation of the footrests - and thats it , i am pretty sure the headstock is unchanged, changing the head stock making it steeper and lenthening the swing arm makes a great difference but is probley more relivent to the mini majesty
  3. I know a guy who cuts and shuts the frame behind the head stock, not sure on exact angles but the modern bikes are around 23 degrees and the older ones were around 26. the trouble with the yams is they are short to start with ( not sure about the godden frames) so if you tip in the headstock you really need to lengthen the swinging arm, and this is done often. About the forks a lot of guys are putting modern forks on the twinshocks and many have fat bars.
  4. can I ask why are you changing it , I have a 06 beta and I dont think I have even had to top it up.
  5. results seem to have been posted on the camboune and redruth web page http://www.camborneandredruthmotorclub.co....t_results_2008/ but I cant seem to open the link , can someone open it and and put it on possably word or something cheers
  6. does everyone still turn their rear tyres? allways use to on the tubed ones. why do they put a direction arrow on? are they still okay to run the opposite way to the arrow?
  7. look in General trials forum ,,,the great how much oil heading there is a poll running on what people are using, but i must say i use super, mine seems to pink on standard. worth reading the 2stroke mix one as well
  8. I ran my 06 250 beta yesterday for the first time on standard unleaded normally run on super unleaded and it was pinking ,can only put it down to the fuel
  9. try david silver at http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/ he has honda spares
  10. strange you say that about the yellow and green markers ,I thought it was just me I struggled all day trying to work that out. went totally wrong once. good trial though, really enjoyed the sections, some guys thought a little easy, not me, and if it had rained as forcast it would have been a different trial. thankfully it didnot.
  11. sell the tlr, there not that good anyway, you can only ride one bike at a time and I bet once you have ridden the newer bike you wont want to ride the twin shock, as for which bike, its really up to you, I have found the beta easier to ride than the gas but i am not a great rider and dont bounce the bike about, never really faniced a mont, good luck. i dont regreat selling my seeley one bit, and it was a nice one, just enjoy riding the new bike.
  12. sold my seeley bought a new beta , best thing I ever did, improved my riding ,confidence.and enjoyment. the older bikes are good fun if you are resonablly good rider, other wise the are hard work. if I point the beta at a hill and can stay on it will go up it, its a mind thing. the new bikes fill you with confidence. get a new bike or one 2-3 years old, treat yourself, you wont regreat it, enjoy.

    Carb Removal

You dont say what make ,if its a beta , if you think getting it offs hard, wait till you try and get it back on, It can be done with a little patience and a small screw driver, but be gentle.
  14. I have just had a phone call ,8.00 friday evening from Gloucester and cotswold Motor Club, to inform me the Hurran Trial due to be run on sunday has been cancelled due to too much rain. I know he will be phoning all the entry up but just in case someone cant be contacted i thought i would post this. Hopefully due to be run in febuary

  16. I have bought a silencer packing for my 06 and they are good, made for the job, also have put the different jets in. run on 70/1 semi synthatic , seems okay.
  17. I've got to ask I cant be the only person who does not know ....What are Dog turds???
  18. With the change of name to this championship I with others was concerned if there were to be many rule changes, I spoke to the acu stall at the dirt bike show, and as I understand, the rules are very similar to last year. They are to introduce a over 60s class ??. Class F. They will give oganizers the chance to have 50% of the sections with an alternative easier route. classes B ( twinshock)... C ( aircooled mono),,,, and over 40 ... to ride harder route, all others to ride 50/50 route. Classes B..C..D.. can ride 50/50 route but not score points. seems all good to me, not to sure about the over 60 class, there is normally only about 10 riders who do most rounds in the over 50 class and I dont think many of them are ready to move up to over 60 yet, I dont think there will be a new rush of over 60s to support the class?? hopefully I am wrong maybe if the over 60 does not work they could consider a pre 78 class for the older twinshocks doing the alternative route, the older twinshocks can struggle on the harder route??
  19. you will upset a few with comments like that, its bad enough when someone takes the mono from a ty250 and puts shocks on it and rides against twinshocks they are classed as cheats rightly so. the classic/tradional championship runs a class for aircooled monos and more clubs should do it, the ty250 and 301 fantics were great bikes. when the ty was introduced followed by the 301 it was the end of the twinshocks and any die hard twin shock rider would not want a mono in there class , they just dont mix. a few years ago twinshocks seemed to nearly disapear and you could buy them really cheap not so now, prehaps one day the aircooled mono will make a come back.

  21. carbs are a problem on the rev 3 , look back on the beta pages there have been lots of comments, I have a 06 beta I have done all the mods you need to get the tangs set spot on, but mine still will not start whens its facing down hill, so make sure you are level or facing up hill when you start it, it makes a difference.
  22. some really good comments and surgestions here, I think the 50/50 is a great idea. how about let the top boys ride the harder route and contest there championship in each class and have one B route championship, no matter what bike or class you ride , the lowest score on the day on the B route gets the 20 points and points for the rest as normal. I think you need to let people contest a championship ,just riding for the fun is okay on the better trials but the ones you have done and not really enjoyed and have travelled 3 or so hours to get there ,if you have no chance of scoring points are you really going to bother?
