  1. They dont look like the hardrocks I had on the old bike In fact looking at that footpeg I am not sure they were either , although the box was cos I still have it.
  2. ftp

    Yes Or No ?

It may depend whether its a keeper or you intend to change it every year or so - if its the latter then probly not.
  3. Cheers I will try get hold of some shoe goo - my scorpa looks to have a standard peg on so I hope for better. I see they have it on ebay .....tnx again.
  4. My bars are if anything too far forward if anything apparently - but I agree looks like somethings wrong. I emailed Gaerne and got no response - I will try the shop where I bought them - they are a great outfit dherbymoto.com
  5. The pegs were on my old bike that has gone px to the same shop I bought the boots from - it had s3 hardrock pegs on - no fancy studs and pretty worn flat at that. There are pics of boots attached. Cheers
  6. I have a pair of Gaerne Balanced oil - after approx 3 months of riding once or twice a weeks the soles are holed !! My footpegs are in decent nick. Has anyone else had this problem ? I emailed Gaernes website and got no response,What should I get next ? certainly wont be Balanced oils, which is a shame cos they are lovely.
  7. I wouldnt recommend a 300 for a newbie - I ride not bad and a have a bought a 300 Scorpa 2015 for this year and will maybe go to a 250 next year. I think a newbie would find it pretty tiring on 300 (certainly a scorpa 2015) and would learn quicker on a 200/250.
  8. Thanks - when you say "over cover" it what do you mean ?
  9. But wont every level benefit from better grip ? or is it something to do with the sidewall on the x lite and expert riding ?
  10. Thanks - its not really just about the splatter specifically I was just using it as an example as it had raised a question about foot placement, just a question about where the top riders have their foot in general - ie over or alongside the pedal ?
  11. Cheers Rob - I guess put simpler would be do people tend to ride with their foot over the pedal or off it to the side ?
  12. A question about foot placement for a relative newbie ..........as you move on to splatter and need holding pressure and such in the learning process - I am finding that its key to have the rear brake covered -but am finding that its difficult to cover the rear brake during a splatter for instance without applying it somewhere during the technique as the leg/foot/footrest angles change rapidly - do the better riders move their toes to the side and ready or have it over the lever during splatters and such and go through the pain of sometimes catching it as they learn ?? Tnx
  13. Yep - dont beat yourself up about not getting it straight off - Ive been riding a trials bike reasonably regular for about 2 years - and have only just started to devote some time to hopping practice ( 2 months in is pretty ambitious) - I have found that to do it in a way that isnt too energy sapping takes excellent timing .... there is a LOT going on - and then when you think you have it to a reasonable degree you will more than likely face a bit of disappointment when you try to use it in section, thats my experience at least. Try to enjoy the learning process.
  14. Road racing and trials isnt a good analogy for lots of reasons - but anyhow It speaks for itself that a 200/250 is a better bike for lower levels when you look at the entries list over here - only the s2 and up seem to prefer 300's and still then 250 are at least as popular in s2 which is a decent level, Im not sure but I think clubman is about s3 ?
  15. My Scorpa 300 2015 arrived today - I will get out on it in the week and let you know what I think. I had 1/2 hour in the yard this afternoon and have the feeling I will be starting a new thread entitled " whats the best way to soften a scorpa 300" But otherwise it felt great......compared to my 2008 sherco 290 I noticed Loads of lock - very lively in the suspension and easy to hop around - well balanced - nice flexible rear mudguard - choke an a*** to get to.
  16. True - but it wasnt 20 years old in 1995 either.
  17. Well yeah - but half of the fun of the hobby is discussing different bikes and this and that, even if its "n'importe quoi"
  18. Completely standard we were told - if that helps.
  19. I thought the Vertigo felt like a bike for a S1 grade or better rider - for me the motor even on map 4 felt strong and it also it felt very rigid - overall quality was great but there are one or 2 small details that need sorted and I have no doubt will be. The Beta 250 - I thought it a bit too soft and if didnt feel very lively suspension wise - ( there was no 300 to try unfortunatley) - shame I wanted to like the beta as I think they look great. The 250 Sherco felt nice but didnt seem to turn like the Scorpa - the 300 sherco felt kind of snorty and flat at the bottom then the transition seemed abrupt. The Scorpa 250 I thought engine great - not flat and then too strong but lively without been either - it felt light and lively and turned like a Beta - I felt confident on it it 5minutes. But all that said a lot depends on the level you ride - what you normally ride - where you were riding and what sort of sections - how each bike was set up - in what order you tried them and so on and so on - so actually I dont suppose it means bugger all I am coming off a 2008 Sherco 290 ....................................................... I was waiting for the Scorpa 2016 250 demo bike that I had ridden to come available but when it did he didnt want my old bike in px , I wasnt interested in selling my old bike private so spoke to another company I use for my spares and they had a couple of used 300's 2015 but no demo 250/300 2016's - so instead of doing the sensible thing and waiting for a 250 2016 to come up I bought one of them - I didnt want to buy brand new as it was a fair hike price wise between mine and new. So I hope the 300 Scorpa rides more like the 250 Scorpa than the 300 Sherco it arrives in a few days.
  20. I live in France and had the chance to ride at a demo day 2016 models Beta 250 - Vertigo - Sherco 250/300 - Scorpa 250 we had 15minutes or so on each in a practice area. For me personally at the moment the 250 Scorpa was perfect - it also stood out to lots of riders of various levels. I have been riding motorbikes forever and trials a couple of years or so and if I compete next year will enter s3 or s3+ depending if I get time to practice a bit this back end
