Hello majesty,
Thanks for the additional photos,
10/10 For your restoration.
Excellent looking exhaust and sump guard with the wings for additional engine protection.
Do you know if it was purchased with a view to riding it?
-
Hello pomster,
Nice to know people still remember this classy bike. I have a few examples in various incarnations.
I love the near original quality refurbished Seeley that used to belong to Majesty. I am sure the new owner is chuffed to bits.
One of my examples parked in front of the van might upset purists but I acquired a rolling chassis about 20 years ago without and engine which a friend of mine totally refurbished and fitted it with a TLR250 engine,
Bike 2 is a more original version including the rather rare exhaust. Again work completed by my good friend.
I rode Scotland in 1981 on one which put a smile on my face for the whole 6 days:)
I lent one of my bikes to a young friend to ride at the Leven in 2023

Hello Millwright,
I have been using the Ossur CTI braces for about 5 years. They used to have an advert in the TMX. I think the MX riders have a lot more problems than trial riders.
(Össur’s innovative designs and materials help create some of the worlds’ most advanced knee braces) Their are other makes but I do not have any experience with them.
The first time I wore them I remember riding back to the van at the end of the trial (Reliance NBBR) with a smile as wide as a cheshire cat. I had gone from thinking it was time to quit to knowing I could keep riding and enjoy it.
I ruptured my ACL for the second time in 2015. The surgeon said I was too old for a reconstruction in 2010. I have tested by knee on numerous occasions since only to have the braces save the day. In fact I think they have saved a broken leg on at least one occasion.
If I ever forget to take them with me to a trial I will offer to observe and give up my ride. That's how important I feel they are.
I don't use my braces for walking or riding my road or mountain bikes.
Good luck hope you have similar success

Hello Brian,
Some great photographs from a really enjoyable and excellent trial. Nice to see some exposure for the Northern British Bike series for all the hard work that go into them.
Thank you

Hi
Try 1 bike on Shell V Power,
Good luck.

Hello Asmara,
I have been a bit disappointed in the quality of my more recent Alpine Stars both styles they do seem to age and deteriorate very quickly but they are my boot of choice:(
Just be wary if ordering on line, if you use the UK size for some reason they seem to ship you the American size which is about 1 to11/2 sizes smaller.
Might be better to use the Euro size if they give you a choice in the drop down to select from it will save you the return postage.

Hi Chappo,
Give one of the Domino slow throttles a try, riding twin shocks and pre 65 means they are the go to throttle assy.
I have never had a problem with them, they are so easy to service pop off the cap remove cable slide off the bar
clean and lube reassemble and away you go.I have been carrying a spare one for 10 years in my collection of spares and it is still in the packet
Leave it slightly loose so you can just twist it on the bar when griping with both hands so if you drop it and it slides up tight you can twist it back
to free it off without the need to carry any tools ( Allen key).
I think the colour code is Black tube for slow and white tube for fast.
I don't have a modern bike but a good friend suggested that I would be so much happier on the Beta 4t even though I am a big Honda fan.
So we should see you moving up the results sheet.
-
Hello I replaced mine with the one that Bob Moore supplies UPB the resulting performance means if I need another that would be the one for me.
-
Hello Millsy93,
I have had a couple of my bikes insured with MSM Insurance for about 3 years seems quite straight forward.
They were advertising for a while in TMX.
No claims experience though! Thankfully.

Hello
Please find some pictures that might help!
The first picture is the Carb to Air Box connector
The second picture are the swinging arm bushes
The 3rd the Manifold insulator ( no part number for that sorry)

Hello jimg
As 4 stroke says the wheels are Honda the hubs are TL250 which is not widely known, so I would start there, seem
to see a fair bit of TL250 parts on e bay being sold in the USA, I have seen a replacement carburettor on the TwinShock Shop
web site http://www.thetwinshockshop.co.uk/parts.php along with other Seeley parts.
Any way welcome to the small and exclusive Seeley Club
-
Welcome to a very elite club, as 4 Stroke says they do look better with white mudguards,
Not sure what your plans are for her?
If you do decide to ride her in anger over rocks you might look to beef up the sump guard and make sure you keep the foam
between the engine and the sump guard, I fitted a proper rubber one off a TLR200 sits sweetly
and offers a bit more protection. Enjoy.

Any body interested in seeing who rode this great trial and the results

Hello Doogle,
They put a lot of their trial information on the cover page of the Regulations they send out including joining instructions and directions
11.00am Start Saturday.
Don't forget your ACU licence they do want to see it at the start,
I am traveling up Friday if all goes to plan . Weather forecast not great but a great trial I am sure you will have a great time.
Regards
Mike

They are very good thanks
-
Hello Jack,
My sympathies' it is something we all worry about as the other people have said I do hope
you get it back soon, and they get to share a cell with an even lower life form.
-
Just picking up on the tone of some of the comments.
I would like to say thanks to the organisers of all trials for the time and effort they put in for no reward and very little thanks,
if I have a good ride or a bad ride I look to myself not the organisers.
I do not think you can call or criticise events until you have organised them run them and had everybody say how great it
was.
Once again thank you to any organiser observer secretary that helps out at an event that I get the opportunity
to ride.

Should be near the top of the fastest reflex league table

Hello Bultacorock,
I have experienced this only once, I entered a trial to give my recently built cub it's first run out
and was dismayed 1/2 way round the 2nd lap when a similar thing happened, the cub
is the only bike I have with 420 chain fitted but I suspect the problem was a combination of new chain, new sprockets
very tight tolerance's and the consistency of the mud and importantly the 'sand' taking up the space so preventing the chain
fitting on the sprocket. Only needs the odd grain on the odd tooth to prevent the chain dropping in to the sprocket.
Only sussed it when I had packed up and gone home.
Regards
