02 Gasgas txt Pro 280; Please can any one tell me what is the forward allen bolt 8x20 in the bash plate for? In front of the oil drain plug. Is it holding something ? Is it to decompress something or to drain something ( water / moisture from fly wheel area) Im not aware of ? Nothing in the manual. only bolt the length. Thanks Tim

Hi All, Great to find this thread as I have just started on my TR34 which iv owned for 3 years and just last week out on trial have a suspected con rod bearing problem and so the renovation begins. Bikes stripped and off the engine is off to the pros for an overhaul. In the meantime as you all know well its time to clean everything else up with some important decisions to make. Can anyone tell me whats the best paint system ? Powder coat or Enamel on the frame ? Is it cheaper to buy all new bolts etc or get them re plated ? Thanks for any advice / tips.

Thanks Reggie & Lineaway, Seals should be here next week so I will start soon, saying that the leak seems to have stopped but caps are in a shocking condition and will disintegrate on removal for sure. Just bought the bike and finding parts hard to come by, gotta say its a great bike, I just bought her from a retired bike shop owner in Menorca who looked after it well just years of grease build up and in need of a few new parts, so thanks for the advice and I will post my findings in the near future. Does anyone know an alternative bike model that takes the same dust caps as a Beta TR34, Iv searched high and low and been told Beta no longer produces them for TR34 ? The oil seals no problem on there way from the Uk but caps ahhhh... Cheers Timbo
