That's correct for the shock linkage bearings but the ones at the front of the swing arm are a different part number and no size is given in the parts diagram
-
Does anyone know the bearing size please ?
-
And the listing has now been withdrawn
-
It may be untrialed but it's well used , Rock marks in the side casings and the bent sumpguard prove that . I'd say it's a 2008 repsol race replica with all the carbonfibre frame and swing arm protectors removed

http://www.montesa4rt.nl/
It's on there
-
It was HRMAD that had the issues with the full throttle stop , It only affected full throttle operation
-
I never seen air bleed screws on 4rt forks and there is no mention of them in the workshop manual ???? There is a screw at the top of the left fork but that alters spring preload
-
A second vote for the kill switch , Just unplug the bullet terminals which you will find under the fuel tank .
But Do Not link the bullet terminals together because it will never start !
-
I'd love to hear the theory behind rocking the steering on a rear wheel drive van !
-
In which way was the map modified ?
-
Just had a thought , Most fuel injection systems cut the fuel completely on the overrun for the sake of economy but what if they altered the ecu to inject a small amount of fuel, Just enough to provide a push down on the piston on the firing stroke ,That would definitely reduce engine braking . I think
-
Yeah I'd like to measure it all but have a strong feeling I will get nothing
-
I was thinking of measuring mine
-
If the engine produced anywhere near the amount of crankcase pressure required to provide engine braking then surely the oil seals would be under huge pressure too ?
Longer duration cam lobes seem much more likely to be responsible for the reduction on later engines , Well to my mind anyway
-
Does anyone know what has been done to the later model 4rt's to reduce engine braking ?
Is it a mechanical method or ptb programmed differently ?

After seven years of medical training and hard work, my very good friend has been struck off after one minor mistake. He fell in love and had a relationship with one of his patients and now can no longer work in the profession, What a waste of time, training and money.
A genuinely nice guy and a brilliant vet!!
-
I don't think that would be an issue either but I do think the reply has been posted on the wrong topic (woody 1 was asking about twin map ptb's )
I have a feeling that your fuel pressure regulator is knackered and the excess fuel pressure being delivered is causing the engine to flood .The best way to diagnose this would be substitution with a known good one . If you are near to or in South Wales and could travel to me you could try mine
-
No it's not that clever . I bought a PTB for mine and when fitted the bike wouldn't start , Just out of interest I plugged the old standard unit in without actually fitting it and the bike started and idled fine .
-
I only ever use first gear so don't find the long stick to be a problem
-
Yeah there are 2 bushes/bearings in each end of the dogbone , The standard bearings are 12mm wide but I chose the 10 mm (12mm are also available) bushes to allow space between them for the ends of the grease nipples to protrude into the dogbone .
-
I'm trying http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272144327681?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&var=570955953230&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AITin my 4rt dogbone but have only ridden it twice so no long term test yet , first impressions are good tho . I've also fitted grease nipples which will hopefully enable me to force any mud or grit out of the bushes . I'll let you know how they last
-
Thanks for the link which has confirmed the size , The bushes have been ordered and I will report back
-
I know that is the size for the early models but I have read somewhere that 2008 onwards use something like 14x22x12 to slightly increase the bearing roller size ???? I've only got the 2005 parts list so can't check for my 08'
Edit . All Balls only list up to 2007 so it looks likely that there is a difference
Has anyone tried something like http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/15x21x12-mm-JDB-Graphite-Lubricating-Brass-Bearing-Bushing-Sleeve-Choose-Qty-/272144327603?var=&hash=item3f5d10e3b3:m:mIoTdnWNIUnRuPt-fyyb5Pg or http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/15x21x10-mm-JDB-Graphite-Lubricating-Brass-Bearing-Bushing-Sleeve-Choose-Qty-/272144327681?var=&hash=item3f5d10e401:m:mIoTdnWNIUnRuPt-fyyb5Pg which are narrower and would allow a grease nipple to fit between the bearings .

What options are currently available and does the year of manufacture matter ?
