  1. "As for Cabestany, I wonder if we'll see him in the WTC?" TrialGP posted on instagram.... "Super happy to keep @cabes in @trialgp family for 2018"
  2. When I first tried trials, I wore my Sidi Discovery Rain boots which I had bought for Dual Sport and trail work. I switched Gaerne and after a time, I just found they were too slipper like for my feet, lacking protection and support. I went with the new Alpinestars Tech T, after a year and a quarter with lots of riding.... I think they are a very good choice. They have a better level of support and protection than Sidi and Gaerne. Top price, but worth every Penny in my book.
  3. US rider Dennis Sweeten rode the Pre 65 and SSDT last year.
  4. Nothing sucks on the loop, like a GG Pro 125 6 speed..... Sometimes 5th isn't enough for a steep hill and shifting between 4th and 5th sucks! My Scorpa 125SC 5 speed is way better.
  5. She got the Puss and Boots model!
  6. Riding at the Tryals Shop last Wednesday on the shop bike, a GG TXT320 instead of my usual 125(More bike than I want!).... We got discussing various displacements, the owner Mike Komer( He has been riding trials for 40 years) said that a 250 was definitely easier to hop, than a 300. I'll trust him on that!
  7. I wore Gaerne Balance Oiled, but I have some foot problems and they are just too slipper like, with minimal support. I switched to Alpinestars Tech T boots, when they were introduced. My feet prefer the stiffer sole and the extra protection of the Tech T's, but the Gaerne soles are more grippy. A Gaerne with a shank in the sole, would be better for me. Anyone have any experience with Forma Boulder?
  8. I downloaded it in USA using a UK Postcode, and got an account. It won't play though, probably because I have a USA ISP.
  9. Pretty simple when you have the correct order of letters!
  10. Says the man who rides the root of the problem.... FIM Honda rule!
  11. I'm getting an '18 Scorpa and figured it will pretty much look like the old one and fly under the radar, until I found out only Factory 125's are available..... Wife will definitely notice black frame and orange wheels!

    Sherco 160/200

Having owned a '17 Gas Gas and '17 Scorpa 125, I can tell you that they are much more powerful than older 125's. The '17 Sherco/Scorpa motor is way better than the '06 Sherco I've ridden. The gap between the 125 and the 250, that the 160-200 filled is less relevant now and manufacturers don't feel a need to build them. Beta is the exception, Like KTM was for years on the enduro side with a 200. As a 60+ novice, it was suggested that a 125 would be the best entry level bike and I agree now after a year and a half of riding. I switched from GG to Scorpa, only because the GG Pro motor was difficult for me to start with my hip and knee problems. Scorpa is easier to start and the bonus was that Scorpa 5 speed gearbox works better on a 125, than the GG 6 speed dual range.
  13. Pretty sure with Honda will let Fuji ride, until he wants to retire. As said.... an awesome ambassador for the sport and a big asset in Honda's home market.
  14. I emailed Birketts about a current Scorpa question though their website and never got a reply. You might need to phone them. Mike at the Tryals Shop had some trick SY250's, might want to talk to him about that too.
  15. They are not the same... having different frame, fuel tank and air box for Scorpa and Sherco. The standard models have different forks/same shock and the Factory models have same forks/different shocks. They share the same engines, which were revised for '17 with a diaphragm spring clutch. http://advrider.com/index.php?threads/sherco-scorpa-differences-2016.1226708/
  16. I have to agree.... I watched 2016 Belgian GP video and 2017 Spanish GP back to back last night and old FIM vids are better.

    2018 EC models

Like Patton's tanks out running their supply lines!
  18. I wanted to ride this, but have a D4 Enduro Series conflict. Hopefully one later this year!
  19. Funny how you always go back to saying the 125 works just fine.... I have to agree!
  20. Airoh TRR is the nicest trials helmet I've worn... So light and well ventilated. I switched last summer from a Jitsie HT1 Polycarbonate, what a difference. Friend just rode in his TRR for the first time today, after wearing a Wulf... He was super impressed.
  21. I had a '17 GG 125 TXT and it has great power, I switched to a '17 Scorpa 125SC because I'm short and my twice operated on right knee didn't get along with Pro motor kickstart gear. You have to be at the top of the stroke every kick, to get it to start consistently. Just a problem for certain riders. The newest version of the Scorpa/Sherco 125 motor, has every bit as much low end and overall power as the new GG.
