yep it fits, runnin my 2004 spare in the 4rt. The hub is the same from the pro, not sure if it fits tho.
-
If anyone has had a 1 off montesa stolen, it has been seen in the north east area. I belive markyboy did the paint work on the bike.
-
yep petrol tank in stock rrp
-
same applies for the 4rt, big handfull in the bottom and let the momentum carry you over the rest, using throttle against engine braking to govern how much momentum you need. It just takes time to adjust.
-
so what we need is traction control linked to a rear wheel speed sensor and engine speed sensor. I'm sure honda could incorporate this into the fuel injection module.
-
seriously ishy, this bike is very good, especially on loose/slippery rocks, just levels sections the 2 stroke would normally struggle on, although i have not yet mastered the power delivery so there is still room for improvement.
-
Well after riding the bike twice, i'm impressed. Even better than i expected. To steer and general riding it feels pretty much the same as the 315. I can do everything i could do on the 315 and thats only after riding it twice, still have to learn what the engine does where and when.
The level of grip and tractable power is enormous. It has surprised me the most in both these areas. The power is so tractable, you hardly have to think about getting grip, it just does it for you, if you can stand on it, it'll go virtually anywhere in 1st, 2nd, 3rd gear or 4th in the straight forward sections.
There are some rather large waterfalls where i practice, the 4rt goes up them as well, if not better than the 315, i have had the 4rt beyond the point of no return of the 315, and it just seems to grip, where you'd normally have to jump off the back and bail out, the 4rt will bite into the rock face sending you skyward, its really sureal as its the last thing you expect. first impressions are good, couldn't go back to the 315 now and if there are any faults with them i'll find em.
-
r2wtrials, would be surprised if there was only 4.5kg,s difference between your gas gas pro and the new 4rt.
-
No I wasn`t allowed to go. My boyfriend wouldn`t let me.
-
One in the electronics, one in the throttle body and 3 in the exhaust. The bike is good enough for most riders with all the restrictors in. Had a play last night and it feels awesome.
-
WHAT A TOOL!!! the engine is amazing, lots of torque, will set off from a idle and pull cleanly and smoothly even in 4th and 5th gear, there is plenty of snap from the bottom end to get you up steps. I have not yet taken the restrictors out of the exhaust system so there is plenty of scope for more power, although for most clubmen riders this would be ideal. There is more power/torque throughout the rev range than any of the 2 strokes i have ridden. Its going to be an intresting winters testing.
-
Just taking the wrapping off it, looks to be the mutts nutts, about the same weight as the 2stroke. Very complicated under the tank, but once you know what it does it'll be simple. Otherwise very well built, similar riding position to the 315. awaiting 1st ride. Will be riding it at the richmond trial at gilling west this weekend, if anyone wants a test ride come see me.
-
It's here!! collecting monday.

yes the bikes have evolved, but why do we have to "stay in the rut" follow 1 line through a section when it would clearly be better for riders and spectators to have more open sections, allowing flowing lines that make the use of brains and not just braun. Any plonker can have a jump at a 10ft rock step, it just takes balls. Where as twists and turns up a stream takes alot of thought and planning, its very tricky to trick ride in a loose stream, more than often it is better to ride straight forward using pivot turns etc.
How would harder compound tires help? surley making sections more suitable to the trial would make more sense. Look at trials like the white rose and the wainwright, there were no sections that were dangerous, you could virtually paddle the bike through them for a 3, but it still takes respectable marks from the winner. In those trials, just look through the top 25 places, they are all regulars riding the british championship circuit, ask any of them which they preffere to ride.
-
How about for a one off to see how it would work, going back to one route no stop, (It works in the nationals)!! The Lochaber club had a go at making some of the sections the same for all routes, and it worked. Say the points go down to say 25th place. Its got to be better than the current format, It seems the series has got lost.
Riders shouldn't be made to upgrade, as the jump to the next class is just too much, who wants to be made to do something they feel is beyond their capabilities, Its dangerous above all! Cant see anyone in the experts wanting to go up. The experts class is a class jo public can relate to, real riders from their local clubs who ride week in week out, promoting the sport and the bikes.
But we need the championship type sections to help the up and coming make the world championship grade, its a good stepping stone.
-
Is it true the ACU maybe scrapping the masters class? If so, what will they ride, with no disrespect to the riders, i cant see them wanting to do the full championship class. Also there are roumers flying around that the likes of quality riders like thorpe, baker and perhaps ed mac, are not opting for the championship class.
That would then leave one hell of an entry for the expert class, with well over 30 riders wanting to compete, and probably under 10 on the full couse. wouldn't the expert class be the flagship class?
-
its not the ideal way to buy helmets, because they are saftey items once they have generally left the shop we cant take them back. (as we do not know the history of the helmet). All helmet manufactures seem to have a different ideas of how helmets fit. A shoei tends to be a large fitting helmet wheras hebo's tends to be smaller fitting. I'd never recommend buying a helmet mail order, always try to get them fitted correctly.
-
Depends upon how many times and how hard you crash, The scott you have 80miles and 80sections all off road, with about a 7 hour time limit. In the scottish you have a 120miles some off road some road based with only 35 sections and about 7.5hours time limit.
How about for the 100th anniversary of the scott 100 sections and 100 miles!! 1st man away at 8:00am!
-
Why do we do it? Because it a bloody good thrash around and lots of fun, is there any other trial in the world that you can do that?
-
Didn't realise that was you rich, mind you wasnt lookin. Amos, james lampkin, and myself all came through together. Cant remember passing kinell, did he see a red blur?
-
I have much faith in kinell, If he gets off the gm he'll be more or less home.
-
what a refreshing change. Brilliant open flowing sections with choices of lines, able to take marks from the best without having to turn up your own a!"e. There was nothing dangerous, and even fancied sec 9 on practice lap.
-
That was one of the more open, ridable and enjoyable sections of the day, plenty of lines and options. we wern't just limited to 6 inches as we were in most of the other sections.
-
scottie, put that big step in for the experts, if we dont fancy it, take it out for the trial on sunday.
