New tires back and front, around 7psi front and upto 5 in the rear depending on ground conditions. New high quality chain and tensioner pad as the mont will snap a cheapie in the day! Other than that its just standard preparation. Some people run a moose, others tape everything up to help prevent water ingress, its down to personal preference and confidence in yourself and machine.

Never heard of one before. Is it noticeably different to ride?
-
2nd is pretty hard to keep up with on std gearing, 1st is my preffered gear for pretty much everything whether its wet and slippy or dry and big. There's always plenty of torque and speed if desired. You have to be aggresive to get the best from the mont, let the suspension and chassis do its job.
-
The best gear for the ssdt is something WARM and WATERPROOF. Take a spare set too.

Caroline Sandiford really pushed the 4rt in the early days, there were plenty competing in the British champs, nationals and all the other major events and we all did well. Dabill, Hemmingway, James Lampkin, myself and Boyd Webster could all be at the sharp end.
After the demise of Sandifords the Montesa dealer network has been p*** poor, without a trials specific importer to establish a new team and push the product to the next generation or riders.
Nothing to do with the bike, but lack of support from the Honda infrastructure .
Hopefully with the new dealers being appointed and some more interest in the trials market Honda may start to push their great product again

It'd be nice to have time to ride 1 bike never mind 2!
-
The Mont holds 2.1 litres, it's about 28miles to chairlift in the ssdt, which it does on 1 tank full, even on 3psi in the rear and ridden flat out. It could easily do 60+mpg.

You have the general idea, and a good starting point. It looks to me like you are using more momentum than technique to get over it. Slow the whole move down, literally from a standstill when you start. Your point of contact with your front wheel could do with been lower and that will give more kick from the suspension to catapult you onto the top.
-
footrests that don't let your feet come off and an onboard gyroscope to self balance the bike.
-
Billy certainly has the talent to challenge for the top spot, Husky have perhaps bagged themselves the next world champ when Grimbo hangs up his boots. Smart move from both parties.
-
Go for the 12.5. The bike will always be more capeable than the rider. Being big on a small bike will allow his confidence to grow ready for the 16. Re sale value is always good too.
-
Are the bearings and bushes in good order? If they are really worn that could result in a substantial loss of clearance
-
Sell the ohlins and buy some titanium linkeage plates from H&D
-
Is there any petrol in it!! Also had similar symptoms, and as jc21 says, it was the fuel pump to harness connector. Double check that plug as the tank can trap or push it at funny angles. Also, is the small grey rubber pipe attatched to the injector as it won't run without that.

Running at 75:1 on a fully synthetic oil will be fine, I think gear box oil is 750ml, we used the Motul transoil in those engines. Give JST Gas Gas a call or any long established gas gas dealer a call

Many riders may have come across Peter in the past 15 years or so in and around the northern area. He was a great lover of the Scottish, The Scott and The Cleveland amongst many other great trials. He was often seen on the road crossings around the course offering drinks, food and plenty of advice.
His larger than life character always had time for anyone and everyone, His booming voice and positive outlook will sadly be missed. He helped many riders out in recent years, giving back to the sport which gave him so much pleasure.
If Andy or anyone has any pics of him to add, that would be great, as many people would have seen him not knowing who he was.

I haven't been aware of any change, the 15x21x12s have been going in my 2012 bike every year.
-
You local bearing/seal stockist will have good quality items at a good price. Get the genuine bushes though, as some aftermarket ones are made of the same cheese as the sump guards. Bearing size 15×21×12 seal size 15×21×3.

Flat tank with alloy base
260 HRC top end kit
Terminigi system
and a new set of tires

Whilst undoing the bottom bolt, pull the stancion away from the fork bottom, This grips the internals allowing it to be undone. You might have to put the fork top back on, i cant remember. May take an extra pair of hands and a vice. When reassembling, put tension back on the damper to nip it back up.

File them in the scrap bin.

The gearing is not comparable between the 4rt and 2 strokes, torque is everywhere and the gears are long. On std gearing 3rd is quick and is not needed for your average dry section. If you were to attempt a stationary splat in 3rd at full chat on a 4rt, you'd get the forward drive but not the lift. It would be like attempting the same splat in 4th gear on a 2 stroke.Your friend maybe hadn't mastered the 4rt technique. They love to be at and work well at the top end.
-
When does power make you a better rider? I have never come across a section in a trial (or practicing) where lack of power hasn't allowed me to do the section. Its lack of skill and not knowing how to use the power correctly.
-
I don't think any amount of training can prepare your body and mind for whats about to happen. Standard gearing, when you click into 5th on the moors you know your shifting.
-
It should fit, uses the same head bearing sizes and the forks are both 39mm.
