Hi all,, I have managed to lay my hands on a very early Seeley..! frame number 1003
This makes it the third bike to be made by colin seeley,..
It has the larger fuel tank that i believe was enlarged especially for the Scotish 6 day trial,
But who rode them?.. how many Seeley's were made with this larger tank? What happened
to the first 2 bikes made?.. and where are they now?
I would like a bit more history of my bike, i think i may have the earliest Seeley still left in this country!
"I bet Big John will know" :-)
thanks all : Scrumpy

The problem wont be your carb,, if you use filter oil on your air filter the bike simply will not run right.... especially on high revs, check your filter and wash it out so there is no residue at all, and make sure that the previous owner hasnt added anything at all that will restrict air into the box.. do this as often as possible as the filters do collect a lot of crap.. "and put the carb back to standard"
let me know how you get on: Scrumpy :-)

Micky, PM me and i will pass on the number of a friend of mine,, he has been collecting pistons for 320 Majesty's ever since
i had Norman Shephards ex works bike, i had trouble finding a piston for that because they used to bore them out even
further making them 350cc..!! I cant remember the exact piston size

Well i have just recieved my stainless Seeley exhaust... and all i can say is WOW,
What a first class job, and if any of you out there were ever thinking of getting a better exhaust for there
bike look no further than Dave, anyone who wants his contact details pm me and i will pass them on.
not grumpy no more: Scrumpy

Thanks John,, Dave is making me a nice stainless exhaust this week,,
Any chance of a pic of the one on your bike?

Hi all sorry to be a nuisance... but i really need a carb to airbox rubber for my Seeley..!
I think that some of the TL 125 ones are the same, and some from the XL,, i would
appreciate any imput on this matter and if anyone has one kicking about i have cash
waiting.
The rebuild is coming along now,, and the engine is well on its way to being fully overhauled,
with only the new big end to press in, thank god the wheels and forks are good..!!
One thing that i dont like about Seeley's is the weak frame, and this one will be strengthened
from the inside at the weak points before powder coating.

The stickers are fine thanks,, but do you do the small stickers that
go under the wings on a seeley..
Scrumpy

No this is another one, and its costing an arm and a leg to sort out! Maybe i should change my name to "SeeleyJack"

Sorry about that John.. its all cleared out and ready
I am also in need of a carb to airbox rubber,, if anyone has they might sell me.

Hi all, I need help finding an exhaust for my seeley,, Please can anyone who either has one or
knows where i can get one please point me in the right direction.
Thanks: Scrumpy
-
If you dont rig up the valve lifter,, the circlip on the end of the kickstart shaft will bend,
this will cause the kickstart to slip occasionally, "its a common honda fault"
And i think that Big John has the right idea,, get it powder coated..!
Scrumpy

Not cheap i'm afraid,, unless you can find someone who has some room in a container... "I bet Big John knows someone ;-) "
Otherwise you wont have much change from

Thanks John,
I think i will have to source a new front wheel... or flog it as it is!
Is it just me or have all the Seeley owners locked up there bikes as a future investment?
At the last two twinshock/pre 65 trials that i did i never saw a single one!! (or does Big John now have them all)
Scrumpy :-)

Hi all, i have just bought another seeley honda, but its had a disk conversion, the forks are
standard but the front wheel has been changed... the disk is quite large.
My question is did anyone do this type of conversion in the early days, as it looks well done?
If anyone wants a pic email me at: alangasgas@hotmail.com I dont want to change it if it is
a rare early mod.
thanks all: Scrumpy (i bet big john will know)

Hi all,
I am having trouble getting my c15 running right, i recently bought an Amal concentric fromm surrey cycles " 24mm with a 110 main jet"
and it just wont run right, i was told it would be jetted for my bike, but after playing with it at the Blue Bar 2 day trial this week i had no joy!
In the end i borrowed another amal from a friend and this was much much better, but it was a 22mm and had a 140 main jet.
Please can some of you out there that a run C15 tell me exactly what works best.. or even if they have a carb that they will sell, it doesnt
have to be an Amal, any make will do.
thanks: Scrumpy

The rear brake hose is not near the exhaust,, I have just replaced mine, you will have to raise the bike and dissconect the rear shock at the top, this allows the swing arm to drop low enough to reach the master cylinder, undo the master cylinder and wiggle it out just enough to undo the banjo, when you fit the new one make sure the master cylinder goes back in and the pipe is at the correct angle before you tighten the banjo propperly.....

They are from a Fantic 301 and i have used them on one of my TLR 200's they go straight in.
I love stirring it up

Sounds like its knackered,,,,, Sell it to me instead.

Hi subanator, uprating those skinny forks on your ty175 is a good place to start..!
I have some TY yolks that have been machined out to take 35mm marzochi forks,
and i have a mint set of forks to go with them,... and of course front wheel, with disc
and even the master cylinder .. all just ready to slot into your bike.
Then i would get the barrel ported a little... I have a ty175 and it goes great,, even pulling
my big frame up most obstacles... it has shocked a few people.

There is a slight weight gain, but it is un-noticable, it also holds a bit more fuel..
I got rid of my first scorpa because it was just to uncomfortable in big trials,,
but i really missed it when it was gone,, i will take this kit with me to my next
scorpa as the years roll by.
I bought it from ebay for
-
I have just bought a LongRide tank and seat unit for my Scorpa sy
And all i can say is WOW... i rode the Cleveland Trial on sunday and
it was great to be able to sit between sections...without getting cramp
after having your legs doubled up trying to sit, the road work was a breeze
And i even think it looks good, certainally different. It doesnt alter how the
bike performs at all.

This is the first time i have heard anyone say the Yamaha engine is bad to work on.... these engines are as
good as it gets for all round quallity.. you just know every nut and bolt will be perfect, and all componants
strong and well made..
Scrumpy

Personally i would spend a little bit more on your rear shocks... treat the old girl
to a nice set of Falcon's..
-
Hey Bikespace,, it sounds like my Fantic is your ideal bike...!!
The first fantic i built up was a 240, but i put a 300 series engine in it,
the 250cc engine never bogs under low speed, and i stuck with that series
of engine ever since.
Remember that buying a well sorted twinshock is not like buying a new modern
bike that depreciates every day... the twinshock will hold its value at worse..
you know you want it
