  1. I hope you will have a route for abuelas!
  2. We are netrerd for the Hundfy Hill trial on the 27th of December - red route and first time out - paramedics at the ready! There are 9 modern sidecars entered and just 2 Pre67's which was a surprise but welcome to see as I shall be in the chair of my Monty 315R. Hoping for a good day and better weather than of late!
  3. Hi TJP, I guess it depends on what you have ridden before as to what you may feel most comfortable on - 2 stroke or 4 stroke and how physically strong you are! Have you been riding long and what is your budget? It's little use suggesting you go for a Cub if you don't want to spend around
  4. You can pick them up on Ebay USA and UK from time to time but one sure place is from Wheelwise, I get my wheels rebuilt there. Remember the rear spokes should be butted. Steve Rolf at Wheelwise 01403 864533. Tell him I sent you!
  5. Shame The Lakes has road work Mike, that excludes me and my rider.
  6. Send it to Steve Wright at http://www.swpb.co.uk/ in the Midlands. Take a look here: http://www.honda-trials.com/_sgt/m1mb_1.htm to see what he can do with a dented tank and marvel!
  7. What seems clear to me from the above posts is that it just lacks co-ordination and communication. The organisations to help are there aren't they? - ACU / AMCA / Trials Central? I think it just needs someone to take the lead to maintain, collate and promulgate an events diary (there is one here on TC of course) and maybe contact some of those events organisers who don't currently use the internet but do stage large events. Is a diary organised by type of event needed? The other thing to bear in mind of course is that many of the riders in the target audience have more than one bike covering more than one class. I know the problem with clashing dates, I triad to organise a Beamish Trial for early June and only had 4 entries, partly because it clashed with a Sammy Miller round.
  8. I am afraid so djr. Wheels do come up on Ebay or the Beamish Owners Club website from time to time.
  9. Probably easier to buy a bike out there and sell it before you come back!
  10. Hi Greg, You can see more photos at: http://www.worthingtrialsclub.com/_sgg/m9mj_1.htm
  11. I would appreciate some assistance on two AJS fronts if anyone out there can help. Firstly, I have a firend with an AJS 16M (mag in the front) engine who is converting it to trials - any ideas on where to get trials cams? I am told that the ex-WD G3L cams are favoured but woud be interested to hear opinions and some help sourcing the parts. Secondly, I have just purchased an AJS 37AT, a 1969 fairly rare beast that was partly assembled by Cotton using the Villiers 37A engine. It was only produced in 1969. I need a chainguard, airbox and left hand side panel or photos of them os I can have them made. Any information on this bike would be most welcome. Cheers,
  12. It took the addition of a big hairy Scotsman and a two foot knuckle bar to shift it, but we got there in the end! Who ever put that nut on had his Weetabix that morning I can tell you! Couldn't have done it without you John. Jim
  13. All I can say is 'what a fabulous event'! It was more than just a trial. Having a meal with guest speaker on the Saturday and getting the opportunity to rub shoulders with famous names of today and years gone by was a privilage. My thanks to the Sotobike Motorclub for allowing me to ride when it would have been easier to find reasons not to allow me to. To ALL in Sotobike Motorclub, from the observers to the organsiers and to the girls who did the administration - you should all be very proud of the world class event you staged. Thanks to Javier for his most generous hospitality before and after the trial, to Sofia and Macerena for their hostess skills, to Quique for the white-knuckle ride in his sidecar and course guidance to Manuel Casado for allowing us to view his collection and to Eduardo for giving us the tour. It was great to meet Big John in person as well as David, Chips, Chris, Woody and Carlos. My biggest thanks of all have to go to my riding partner John, without whom I would not have been able to get there or get around the course, he also gave the the opportunity to rinse my socks at Section 11 both days! I would reccommend this fabulous event to any one serious about twinshock trials.
  14. I have a club member in Newcastle Upon Tyne who would like to know where there is to practice and where he and his son can get some trials training. Any help would be most welcome.
  15. Ah, my mistake Charlie, I thought I'd seen this one before but obviously I hadn't. I think it was the Pykett reference that had me fooled!
  16. Thank you both for your advice, I have a better ideao fo what I need now. Cheers, Jim
  17. Thanks Wayne, yes that's the one, rather foolishly I was looking at http://www.greevesmotorcycles.com/ - silly old me! I certainly hadn't lost you Javier!
  18. Have Greeves forgotten to renew the subscription on their domian name or have they gone tits up? Anybody know?
  19. The best ferry crossing is Portsmouth - Santander on Brittany Ferries, It goes out on the Tuesday 19 May at 17:00 and comes back on the Monday the 25th after the trial leaving at 15:00. The cost is

I think the new Greeves fits that bill doesn't it?
  21. I have a 1962 C15 that I am converting to trials, I have junked the worn concentric carb and have bought an Amal 622 and a 1.5" long inlet manifold extension, it will be running PVL. Is anyone else running a 622 on a C15 and can they tell me what jetting they use and what needle position they find best?
  22. Yes sidecar trials are still alive in Europe, certainly in France and Spain to my certain knowledge. I can put you in touch with a couple of sidecar pilots if you wish?
  23. Excuse my ignorance Nigel but who is Steve Wilson and is he still producing frames? Does he have a trade name? Cheers, Jim
  24. Hi Dave, You have three options: Crook-Suzuki which is the best place to get all NOS Beamish parts, if they dont have it you will have a job to find it anywhere! Next option is to fit tapered roller bearings which they sell on Ebay in the USA item no. 390024637068 (all the Beamish use the same head stock bearings as the RL250 Exacta) or finally, you can get a set from me, I have one set left over as I fitted tapers to my last bike - I will be at Telford Show on Saturday and Sunday. Cheers, Jim
