I just looked at that Honda, it's over

The show has a website http://www.classicoffroadshow.com/
Not only Hondas there but the Beamish Owners Club also have a stand!
-
Hi Roger, yes I am paying for it myself as I do with the Beamish site. If you have sponsors the site gets messy as everyone whats there logo and links on there and you have a conflict between best advice and best paying sponsor! Some photos of your restoration wouldn't go amiss.
I do have the RS bash plate I brought in from Japan (which cost a small fortune!) so I will get my perfect one down to the guys and see how much it will cost to copy it.

There is a new website for Honda trials bikes. This includes the TL, TLR, RTL, TLM and RS models. All contributions gratefully received to make it something worth visiting! It's not trying to compete with any other website, just collate information and links - including one to here.

Well definitely an interesting one to watch, I doubt we will see another like it in our lifetime (someone will list another tomorrow knowing my luck!).
There was a 1978 RL250A red/black on Ebay Austrailia today that made

I bought probably one of the last pair of shocks that Pete Edmondson produced. The company changed hands in August this year and I know 2 people who have bought since, one was supplied a pair of shocks with a different spring in each, he took them back and had them re-assembled but is still not entirely happy with them. Another friend is finding his still need 'begging in'.
Has anyone else experience of recenltly bought Rocks?

This has got to be for the serious collector or museum, once you start it you have devalued it surely? I am sure it has gone down in price by

Don't go to 325! There was a very good reason that Beamish took the standard 325 and sleeved it down to a 250, the 325 is too much of a handful unless you are 18+ stone or have a sidecar. 250 pistons are easy to come by, all available 325 pistons were designed for another make of bike.
The head on your 250 was skimmed when the barrel was sleeved but no-one knows by howw much so it would be trial and error to get the compression ratio back right.
250 pistons are everywhere and the bike will perform much smoother as a 250. 5.5" bars or 6.5" if you can get them and move the pegs if you don't mind spoiling the chrome for the sake of performance.

Quite right Big John, labelled as a RS200T but is in fact a TL200(R?) which I believe was the predecessor.
-
Superb bike Roger, you will be making me jealous soon! Just fitted a replica carb to mine (looks identical to yours), I will let you know how it performs this weekeknd.
Someone told me the Seeley had 35mm Marzocchi forks where as the RS had 33mm Showa - is that right?
Cheers, Jim

I know a guy who got one of these from Ellastones earlier this year for a third of the alleged current bid price (

Results and photos from the Brian Fowler National available from http://www.worthingtrialsclub.com/_sgg/m3_1.htm
When you see how few marks the top boys lost you can see why the National trials have to be hard! It's the only one the club does all year.
I can back Mick up on the Normandy and Thames Valley Trials Combine endorsement, I ride both as a lowe level than Mick and they always put on superb events.

Entries are now closed for the Brian Fowler National. No entries are available on the day I am afraid as the full entry compliment was reached.
An entry list is available at:

Hope you have a great trial and smile for the camera!

Let's hope the is a happy buyer atthe end of it all.

I thought you wer Roger but I was serious, being a sad accounting type I a*** around with numbers all day - very exciting! The Beamish register has helped to spot fake/ringed bikes.
-
If enough people are interested I'd be happy to maintain a register/database, I do for the Beamish which is quite useful as it is a place to log your unregistered bike in case it gets nicked. I publish a page on my website of stolen engine/frame numbers for people to see; other than that no one has access to the actual records except me but I do release statistical information.
I think we need to find a little Japanese chappie to fill in all the blanks on the models and production runs!
-
Does anyone know if there is a modified or purpose made swing arm and rear sub frame for the C15 / B40 trials available anywhere?
-
I know very little about the history of the Honda RS range and would be very interested to know more. Does anyone out there know how many different models were produced and what volume production runs were done? Were they all built for the Japanese home market or for some other purpose?
Is there a RS register or club?
-
Thanks for clearing that one up Martin, are speedway and trials close as sports discipines go I wonder? I woulnd't mind partnering Alexz Wigg in trials pairs, it may improve my results althouth Caia Sanz would be more interesting!
Cheers,
Jim

No offence taken HP, it was taken as it was neant. Is there a credit crunch? The prices bikes are still fetching makes you wonder! Maybe it only cruches if you need credit....
-
Thanks for clearing that up Mike, though you did make it sound a bit like a witness statement! No further questions m'lud!
MartinM - did the guy actually say he was a trials ex-world champion? If fact he is non-specific on that point so it could be tiddlywinks and he would still be telling the truth!
Honda Pants - how rude! Some of us Southerner RS owners are nearly as straight as a donkey's hind leg!
Whatever the bike is, let's hope it operates as a proper trials bike and the new owner is happy with it .....
-
I take it you sold him the frame to him or were with Mick Whitlock when it was altered then Mike?
-
The seller ins quite emphatic that it is not a TLR250 but seems reluctant to say what the engine and frame numbers are or are prefixed with.... sure doesn't look like a RS bash plate. Is there such a model as the RST250?

This is mine, now is a local museum. Completely unrestored and as built.
