i had 2 years riding on sherco and this year have a 280 gasgas
the suspension on the gasgas rear is alot better , sticks to the ground and doesnt just bang when jumping off 6ft steps. build quality was something i was concerned about but it seems fine , i do strip it down every week and check everything.
the bike does seem lighter to ride and easier to pull around espicially at the end of an event.
It has taken a few weeks getting used to the extra power of the gasgas , sometimes catching me unaware on a couple of steps.
The sherco is much better in mud when feeling for grip, but hopefully i can adapt to ride the gasgas in mud.
i dont think any bike will be perfect , you have to try them all then access them .....................then go with the cheapest !!!!

the law was changed to allow plastic fuel tanks when triumph made their off road thing that had a plastic tank.
-
i knew the 3 on the last section was costly but not that bad!!! 11th to 18th in one section!!
-
cheers gasserboy, i rode ok but had some useless 3's that messed me up a bit , think i finished on about 27, i think james fry was 26 and andy blackman was 25.
And the pub was quite warm and they were selling lager!!
-
why you gonna miss him? is he going somewhere?
-
would love to been able to ride but mortguages and bills are killing me, so i cant do everything
Im desperately trying to sell a bike to buy a new one so we can compete next year, my bike is ready to sell and i've no way near rich enough to have 2 bikes.

funny i rode southern centre schoolboy experts on a JCM , i dont remember anyone else riding them in the expert class except for me ever!!
I rode them from 1989 til 1992 if memory serves me right
-
if its where i thinking of i've seen the wall and its big
-
my point of view was this:
1. Trial was just about right for a novogar , a few tricky ones to sort out the winner and the rest ok for lesser riders , nothing dangerous and a brilliant ride round
2. Good organisation keeping everyone informed up to the trial and providiing a route for support vehicles was a very good idea.
3. Organisers were very good for letting us beat them at pool and allowing us to sample the local brew prior to the event, think i should have drank water though.
4. GONNA TAKE ME A WEEK TO CLEAN THE VAN!
5. Now i've crept enough just knock 5 or 6 marks off my score.
6. Last and most important it was so good to meet so many welsh champions, must of been a record to have at least 7 all in the same room.

The southern trial teams reservations manager has informed me we are staying at the cann office hotel on saturday.
Obviously i will be drinking water as im a true professional

the boy that fell in the hole closely followed by st johns was mark scholfield , i was lucky enough to be next to go after it!!
i did 3 junior kickstarts and one schoolboy/pro one, i was with saunders we won all the heats and we finished 3rd overall, it did absolutely **** down just before we started, and thats the excuse i'm using.

correct me if i'm wrong but didnt the top 15 in the british championship used to be numbers 30 to 45 before it went to the new format?
why not do this in the clubmans? then all the likely winners would ride the same sections!
also i send my entries in ASAP as i get them even go to work late to make sure they go to the main post office that day, a few times i have been at the front so i do think that certain riders DO get priority, ive finished top ten in alot of the rounds , but the ones i was at the front i've struggled to get any where near the points. (not including the alan jeffries, i put that down to a bad performance by me)
-
i run different mixtures depending i where i ride 70 to 1 usually and 50 to 1 with big steps/hills etc
-
adult team now has phillip wifffen in place of david gray
-
if i remember rightly , vans can go round and alot of the trial is on public roads, i aways brin someone to drive round just in case i get a problem.
sorry cant remember about the petrol stop , hope this helps
-
Just talked to maria , she had food poisining really bad , she nearly didnt ride because she was so weak and couldnt hold onto the bike, and as you know shes all throttle!!!!.
In the circumstances she was quite happy with third and will definetly be closer to kramer (as usual) next time out.
-
hopefully the g/f has posted the entries this morning , did she get past the clothes shops before she got to the post office?
cheers see ya there!
