Originator, with John Smith amd the Rochdale club, of the sport of Pre-65 trials in 1972 and organiser for the first fourteen years of the British Bike Championship which subsequently became known as the Sammy Miller series. Involved in the formation of Bath Classic (first President) and the Golden Valley clubs (organisers of the annual British Bike Bonanza).
