I asked the question recently on the GG board of the strengths/weaknesses of the Gas Gas. After riding a 300 GG Pro, I was very impressed with its turning abilities. I was wondering if the Sherco has a strength/strengths that offsets its turning abilities that I don't realize? Are they more stable in certain situations? Easier to ride overall? Many on the GG board spoke out about GGs reliability but I've also heard the same about Shercos reliablity. What's a guy to do? Let's hear it!!!

I have a friend in Asheville who rides XC. He may know some trials guys??? By the way, we rode together last weekend at TTC.

I hear lots of you saying that the Gasser has reliability issues as compared to the Sherco. I have heard the same about Shercos in some instances. Am I correct in what I'm hearing?

I know this is probably a pretty elementary question, but what are the main differences both physically and performancewise between the '05 and '06 4RT? Thanks for any info.!

How many of you have switched from Sherco to Gas Gas? What are your experiences? The reason I ask is that a friend let me ride his 300 Pro and it was great! The steering, motor and handling in general seemed perfect. Anything negative to look out for? Thanks!

The leak is at the block/tank adjoining area. I'm using the plastic tank repair kit with some success. I have it on the seam though and didn't go the "tooth pulling" route. If this doesn't hold, I'll try that next. The palstic repir kit seems O.K. on the seam until it is moved enough to crack the sealer/repair goo. It get pretty hard and brittle once dry. I guess I'll try the "black crap" trick once I get frustrated with this fix. There is an airport local to me here that may offer some assistance. Thanks for the advise, any more is welcomed.

I have an '02 Sherco 2.9 that I bought used. The fuel tank leaks where the petcock block attatches to the fuel tank. This is differnet than some of the later models so it must have been problematic. Right now I have it fixed with a plastic repair kit that is basically some sort of plastic epoxy. It is holding for now but I would like to find a more permanent fix if anyone knows of one.
