  1. Can anybody recommend anywhere to get some spokes from Also what finish would you recommend? Its for a SWM Im restoring. Thanks
  2. Thanks for the info Woody.Ive got a 83 SWM Im hoping to ride .What class should I enter then?If there's two routes I'd be up for doing the harder route.Must confess to not knowing too much about mods/mechanics etc but Im hoping to keep my bike as original as possible i.e. no disc brakes etc.Thanks.
  3. I was thinking of doing this series next year and its a bit disappointing to hear the negative comments. From what I'd heard they are cracking trials.Im hoping to compete on a twinshock - I take it that its the classes/bikes that are causing discontent rather than the quality of the trials?
  4. I would have to agree that the series is way beyond the average clubman rider. The rounds are being won by Experts! The problem is that there is such a vast difference in the level of ability of todays riders. There are suggestions on here to run a B route alongside the A route.I would agree that that would swell the numbers of riders entering but there would still be a huge difference in the ability of the riders. The Northern Experts run a Clubman route now.The clubman winner was on 6,last place man was on 114!How do you set out a route to please all the different levels of rider :wall:I rode the Wallace about 5 years ago and it was won by Sam Connor on 50odd!I know that both he and Dan Thorpe asked for some fives on that day. What chance have the rest of us got?Admittedly it did rain the whole day but the sections in the arena/quarry were most definitely not set out for Clubman riders.I havent entered since. May i suggest that Trial organisers have a look at the Jack Wood national.A good hard but sensible trial with the top lads losing a few, others losing over a hundred. However the 150 entry limit is full year after year whether its got Novogar status or not.
  5. t-shock 250 "Brilliant Rotax engines can be made soft or aggressive easily" How? Apologies if its an easy answer but Im no mechanic Is it something to do with the timing?
  6. You could also consider SWM.A good bike in its day and spares are usually available from Martin Mathews.
  7. Without a doubt the coolest rider ever - Mick Andrews
  8. I think the Past Masters trial was a great idea. What about going one further and having a past past masters trial such as Mick Andrews,Mart Lampkin,Vesty,Rathmell,Thorpey etc riding their old Bultos and Ossa's etc.I know that Mick andrews and Thorpey are in their sixties now but they can still ride better than most Clubman even now!
  9. Remember back in the eighties when Mick Andrews was allegedly past his best then he went on to win a world round. Dougie's got some world round wins left in him yet but he wont be world champ again until he's back on a two-stroke
