  2. Interested to see what you think of these, in need of some frame protectors and at these prices would be worth investing in some other bits if they are good quality. Be sure to put a pic up and let us know what you think of them when they land.

    Rev 3 Sticker Set

After months of waiting I have got myself an 04 Rev 3. I Would like to put new sticker set on but can't find them on internet so far. Does anyone know where to get them for the best price to assist me in my search? I could also do with some of the clear stuff to put over the ones that get rubbed by your boots and protect the frame a little. I know I will scratch, scrape and damage them but it will look the part for a little while at least! Cheers
  6. I have thought of this and may well have a go, might have a look at a couple and see how the pro's have done it!
  7. Thanks for the replies, I will keep an eye on ebay and check out the links to manufacturers.
  8. I have seen in the past, single bike trailers that fold on the front part near the hitch to make them easy to stand up in a garage to store. Does anyone know who manufactures these and has anyone got one?

Original buyer backed out but put it back on with buy it now and sold it bext day! In fact could have sold it 3 times over!! As you say used prices are rock bottom but it's sold and so I can put the money toward a newer bike when I finish my kitchen extension!

  11. Funny you should say that 2fargone as my recently restored Pinky went on ebay yesterday , as you say they are great but having spent time and money making it look new I don't want to scratch it again now!! Parts are cheap and plentiful plus they are very easy to work on.
  12. I have a mig welder and my trial biking friend is also a dab hand with metalwork so we will cut and carve to make my lightener as suggested, After spending the last few months restoring the bike I was looking for something I could just "bolt on" for a change but never mind, fabrication can be done!! I am happy, my bike is done and this week got a new rear tyre on so I have no more excuses when I fall off tommorow when we go riding!!! Thanks folks
  13. I have seen the Sammy Miller pulley type but it is bulky and various people have told me that they don't work very well, in their opinion. The search continues............
  14. I posted a topic in yamaha forum asking if anyone knew where I could get the extended arm type clutch lightener for my TY250 but no joy, thought I would try posting it in aircooled mono forum as it seems to get a wider audience. A couple of people suggested making one but I don't have access to metal working equipment. I am sure that someone somewhere must be still make these in a little workshop as so many bikes seem to have them (except mine!) I have just finished restoring my TY back to it's former glory which I posted in the Yamaha forum recently and am looking for the clutch lightener to further improve the riding experience, and my skills!! Any help / contacts would be greatfully received, a spare clutch lightener would be even better!!

Not road registered, bought it from Derby so doubtful if it belonged to you unless you bought it new as the guy said he was 2nd owner (he says!) Did it look like your old girl in it's current state or the state it was when I bought it?????

It rode well, just some adjustment needed to brakes and it will be setup to my liking.

    Project Complete

Here is my Pinky which I completed and rode today, Thanks to all that helped me along the way. I have resized afew pics to make them small enough but it says I can't add them so if anyone knows please shout out as I have two more of the bike as it is now and one when I got it a few months ago. I have re-built it to ride, not to polish and have already scraped some stickers off, it is my first project so be gentle! I have stripped it down, had the frame shotblasted and powder coated back to white (from Green!) and replaced afew bits and bats along the way to put it back to original colours etc. It rides well, a couple of minor adjustments to front & back brake will have it just so. P.S. I did tension the chain before I rode it!! Cheers Mod Edit: Pics added

if you don't repack it you will need to invest in ear plugs for you and anyone in a 10 mile radius! It is cheap, about
  21. Thanks for the replies, looks there is a niche in the market for someone to manufacture these! If anyone has any pics I could use for reference that would be really handy Cheers
  22. Do you know where I can get one?
  23. Does anyone know where I can lay my hands on a clutch lightener for the 1990 pinky I am rebuilding? I have seen and heard of the one that is basically an extended arm at the point where the cable dissapears into the gearbox. I am told the handlebar pulley type is not as good and also looks a bit bulky to me.

    2001 Rev 3 270

Do the same from the other side of the door and straighten it out again!
  25. Try and tighten up the cable on the adjusting screw located next to the lever on the handlebars. You may find that as you ride the bike and it gets warm you need to loosen it off to reduce your clutch slipping. This may fix it in the short term but you may need to try changing the oil and possibly having a look at the clutch plates if that doesn't work.
