BJ has no information unless I give it to him
Results will be posted on the club site here tonight. I've been very busy at work and late home at nights.................posting results are about the last thing on my mind D.

Inverness & District are hosting this year's Scottish Team Trial on 3rd of October.
Four riders per team, the teams can consist Expert, Non Expert or Novice combination. No team shall consist of four Experts. Where three Experts are in a team the highest scoring Experts' score will not count towards the team score. D
-
You're kinda right rabie. Here's what it says :-
5- when requested by a rider rather than attempt the section.
10- Not attemping a section when called to do so by an Official.
my quote
If techno asked for a 5 at a section, I don't see the problem. D
-
This trial was a National and a round of the Scottish Championship for Youth, Over 40, Pre '65 and Twinshocks.
Youth"A" licence holders ride the "A" route
Youth "B" & "C" ride the "B" route. There is also a possibility of "D" class riders entering, who may only ride a few of the "B" sections.
Youth riders are classed according to age (see TSR1. Eligibility/Licencing in the handbook) and is the same nationwide.
If any rider feels uneasy about tackling a section he is entitled to ask for a "5" from the observer (TSR22) D.

To all the dissenters
Late last year, the SACU sent out a licenceholders newsletter. There is a report from the TC chairman and mentions a few things. Obviously you could not have read it as it states,
"The upgrading system we use has been in position for many years now and may be in need of modernisation! Any proposals to the office please for consideration by the Trials Committee"
Response - NIL

Touche.
G, You may be who you think you are but I think you're someone else! Your member name gave me a clue but I could be a little off track. D
-
I don't know the answer to that, maybe you should ask the Trials Committee.
As far as an Expert riding the "B" route for no award, that's perfectly acceptable to me too.
my quote
With your sensibility and eloquence, I think you should write to the TC at the SACU offices with your suggestions. (If you are who I think you are ) I have done so in the past and got things changed (e.g. licences running until the end of January) D
-
It isn't - it's up to the Trials Committee but if he doesn't want to ride with the other experts and ride the easy route, then surely that's ok?
Any better system in mind?
-
From the SACU regs (which you got a copy of when you got your licence)
"EXPERTS - May apply to the Trials Committee for downgrading at any time"
It's up to you.
-
No.
True.
True again.
Not factually correct
Inverness & District were the first to (and still do) use separate sign on, score sheets and issue "A" plates with different coloured punchcards to differentiate routes, although we've never used specific riding numbers as the licence rule was never enforced.
What an almighty fuss but I love threads like these
As far as I can see (my personal opinion), this 10 mark penalty is virtually unworkable anyway.
The SACU Steward will have to do this job:-
1. Check the bike (every one!) has a number on it, or not.
2. Check the rider has a licence.
3. Check the photo on the licence matches the rider.
4. Find the rider on the entry list.
5. Persuade the event secretary to dock him 10 marks.
As it stands, it's a bit of a mess but if anyone is feeling vocal about it, the SACU AGM is on tomorrow Sunday 29th at 2.00pm in the Kaimpark Hotel, Bathgate.

Oh so very very true........................
This thread is one of the most interesting I've witnessed on this board and deserves a comment or two.
As previously stated this rule has existed for a long time but has never really been enforced, I don't see a problem in sticking 2 or 3 numbers on the front of the bike (retired now but used to do it every year without a qualm)
10 mark penalty .............well, there are rules, regulations and laws all around us in life, and punishments to go with them.............get used to it, stop greetin' and grow up!
Some valid points on the observing and ACU, MCUI riders. IDMCC as a club will have a serious look at this and I think we'll probably issue an individual rider number on different coloured cards to signify which route they're riding at our National Championship and Pre '65 Trials. This should solve the problem.
As far as the Inter Club Team Trial goes, licence numbers will be required as it's only open to Scottish riders.

Go to the SACU Website contacts page where you'll find your nearest club. Dave

April 11th, starting in Kinlochleven (south of Fort William).
There are a few National trials in Scotland in April. I've got dates and venues if you want them. Dave
-
Clean........................ read the rules!
The front axle governs the start and finish in a section. Dave

Central heating in the garage works a treat, ask BJ Sec
-
Hi techno,
there is no need for an eyetest for a trials licence. As BJ says you must fill in the back and send a copy of your birth certificate if it's your first licence. Dave.
-
Buy a couple of small training weights and do "wrist curls". You can do these in the comfort of your armchair while watching Emmerdale and Corrie Dave
-
I should have phrased it better, it's not a levy but a capitation fee.
English trials riders do not buy a licence but a registration card then pay levies at each trial.
Other ACU licence holders pay
-
Mmmmmm...................food for thought.
Well done Boo Dave
-
It's just a funday for anyone who has a bike. (Trials/Motocross)
There will be a few sections plus a little thrash on the scrambles track.
I've just given punch cards and punches for the day out, so if you fancy a tooter on the bike just turn up. Dave.
-
ACU riders pay a levy at every trial (as BJ stated). So instead of doing that, the SACU charges the full
-
:hat: Seasons Greetings to all. :beard: Dave.

Don't know anything about it. IDMCC ain't running it for sure.
Do you know who is? sec
