Be certain you put the seals in the right way round too! Gravity works but takes time.....clear tube on slave cyl. nipple, other end of tube in container with a little fluid to immerse tube into. Undo nipple1/2 turn, you should see some fluid movement. Keep reservoir topped up as the levelgoes down and allow about 1/2 a tea cup of fluid to go through. Close nipple try clutch??usually works, but so does the syringe method. Make sure both ports in the reservoir are clear, you should see the master cylinder piston moving passed the larger port opening and closing off.

Steady on oni its just a newbie finding out?We all need our little Zen like moments??♂️whats in a few years, months for a really old 125. Bunglebmx obviously likes his JT.....oh god....sorry GT????????

Armed with this info you are now probably able
to date accurately its dimise?

The green/yellow wire that goes to earth would be my bet as the kill switch will be wired to provide an earth until activated...no earth= now electrical power. But I’m sure someone will correct me or suggest that you use the white which might just be a power supply. Use a DVM with the engine running to check??
-
Whose good faith eh! Engine noise is it rythmic with piston speed, does it go with increased revs, any difference with clutch pulled in? These and many other questions will be the order of the day to help you sort out the tedious side of “yeah it runs fine mate”?Check oil in transmission case and g/box.
Locate coolant temp sensor and bridge wires together with engine running, if fan runs its the sensor needs replacing or leave wires joined and fan running all the time. You really need to use coolant mix as plain water will not be ideal, the anti-freeze raises the boiling point of water so you get more cooling range from the same quantity of coolant.??

Great looking machine?Mr Proper from the land of Gouda cheese, you have done?? an outstanding job ?I like the way you work, research ?and resolve issues?

The fuel then was stable and would keep for quite a long time without ‘going off’ or going stale or destroying everything it came into contact with....bit like an MP with initials JC.

Its that customer loyalty that helps smooth the business path with repeat custom. If I was still in the business you would certainly be on my books as one to receive excellent offers and deals. That was the basis upon which I did business and it included a certain JS who supplied me with his kits.

Join the club, currently suffering from Labrynthitis .....just what you need for a tricky section or two....like negotiating stairs etc?

Yes fairly certain Mr Yamaha wouldn’t make it that difficult. No need to split the cases, this is a seal that has to take punishment so just like the other TY models its a gentle lever out or use various methods like self tappers and grips but usually just a simple appropriate sized lever will flick it out. Lay the bike over so aa to keep the oil in the box if you are not draining out. Plenty of grease around the new seal lip and I believe that the sleeve that the seal rubs against comes out too so give it a good clean and grease.??

It’ll all be beta in a few months when eveyone announces their 2021 model line up...thus trouncing any upstarts attempts at a 2020 being available. Used trials bikes (newish ones) values will obviously be affected possibly making owners hang onto their bikes for far longer, the resultant lull in the market will do the dealers out of new bike sales so they will start to snap up any used modern bikes worth buying to increase their options with second hand bike sales. This is pretty much how the trials market was in the late 60’s /70’s very few dealers stocking new machines maybe just the one or two and concentrating more on used stock. That was an effect of the kit form bikes where you bought direct from the manufacturer and most dealers sold road bikes rather than just specialise in one sport area. Its a brave dealer that isn’t multi-franchise today.

KTM always appear to have offers with big discounts for their off-road stuff, least ways they did when I ran one and followed the ads.

Is this not a case where we or rather promoters should be looking at our race circuits and introduce not one but three or four tracks where their woodlands and outer perimeters could possibly provide terrain with sections. This offers up potential for paying spectators, vendors fees and markets etc. Parking and facilities including surrounding accommodation etc. Looks to me like a big missed opportunity, televised world round, etc etc. Why does it all have to be on foreign grounds anyway? The race circuits could just be the start and finish points with other areas in the location used for more challenging sections.
If we can do WSB, MotoGP, British GP, MX why the hell cant we do a simple trial??♂️No disrespect to anyone working for the sport, but it just seems that we Brits always capitulate or give way to some others?

If a Dealer has had a bike sitting in their showroom for a year its not commercial sense for it to still be there, unless the Dealer has no stocking plan. If an article is purchased the cost of buying, interest on the money invested in that purchase and any profit must be accounted for way before a 12 month period. I know interest rates of return are poor now but that article if not sold in the first 3 months would see me making every effort to get shot ‘pdq’. Like wise with a bike if it aint moving in 3 months it is going out either trade or at a greatly reduced offer price probably with extras....after 6 months a new model will be announced by the manufacturer so sharp on your toes is the order of the day.
Me thinks Gas Gas has made our importer an offer to clear out stock before any Brexit embargo gets in the way of our lucrative market!

Seem to remember someone selling SWM’s from the back of a lorry even outdoing the dealer bit.
-
Maybe we could do away with Ethanol too! If this stuff attacks....most materials what the hell is it doing to the atmosphere?
-
Dealers are also stung in the tail, their used stock overnight just lost a lot of money...GG that is?

If you intend to play around with rear or gearbox sprocket size you may need to reappraise chain length.?

classicauto, you probably know more about plastic weld repairs than I do and your repair looks good. There is another way that can most often work too! People tend to resort to a silicon type sealant, smear it on where they think it will do best and then tighten everything down...hey presto usually a leak develops after a few days. Instead if they were to apply a suitable fuel resistant sealant that sets (rather than remains tacky) leave in place; having formed a nice even 10 mm or more thick surround, without fitting the fuel tap or outlet.... for about 5-10 minutes to semi set, then refit the fuel tap/outlet but tighten the fixing screws/bolts just over finger tight...wait a few more minutes and then tighten equally a few more turns leave overnight and tighten down but not excrutiatingly overtight...comfortable tight. This method is used in the Marine Industry admittedly for skin or hull fixings but it certainly develops a watertight seal for fixings that take a hell of a beating under load and stress. Worth a try as it has been my experience that people tend to rush with sealants and don’t always follow the instructions.
Ethanol will do its worst on whatever it contacts so I guess we are all doomed to having dodgy seals, gaskets and knackered plastic tanks....Funny thing is that I have just removed an Aprilia Futura fuel tank ( platstic ) and there appears to be no Ethanol issues at all!?I wait with baited breath!

Engine has the later slimmer clutch cover as per the 37A. The carb looks to be newish Amal 600 type on a long inlet ....good for low down pulling. The footrests look to be positioned further back than normal. The alloy beam section front of frame should not be painted is this hiding damage etc.? Worth a punt at £900 but you may end up paying more like £1500 as the new owner benefactor is on this site too. ?Anything Greeves is collectable even odd parts, ask the vendor what else they’ll throw in for the deal.
If you buy it you will have plenty to go at restoration wise.

Clymer manuals usually win hands down over Haynes and other stuff, very often even better than the original workshop manuals.

Nudge nudge, wink, wink, know what I mean.....say no more!

Try a local engineering business, they should be able to measure it accurately for you.
