  1. Wow it must be really dark in your your solitary confinement cell ‘Hannibal’! What have you recently eaten to produce this foul and pestilent congregation of vapours. Have any guards gone missing? You must look on the bright side, you are never getting out so at least we in the free and open have the birds tweeting, cows farting etc. As for the concrete and dust well maybe another author to read may help you in your solace. ?
  2. One persons suspension set up is another persons unridable set up. An awful lot depends upon the individuals preferences and the condition of that persons suspension and bike maintenance. As billyt suggests experiment, but do this making small adjustments at a time, ride over the same test area and decide what is best for you, thats why there is provision for adjustment. If we all had the same settings the manufacturere could revert to what the road bike manufactureres do....give you bugger all adjustment and like it. You may even revert to a number of settings for different types of section....a click here..... click there!
  3. Pretty much how I feel about Jeremy Kyle!

    Oil

Fully synthetic oil more likely to cause clutch slip unless it has the correct modifiers added.
  5. Right so its almost 4.45pm and unless you are a teacher you’ll already be at home feet up tea/ stiff drink in hand! So are we all hovering over our monitors ?‍???‍♂️??attempting to look busy ???‍♀️and earnestly doing business only for it to come to a crashing halt at 4.59pm AND their off!!! Junior Boy is in the lead narrowly avoiding the bosses glare. BONG the clock strikes 5.00pm and closely following Junior Boy is Office Bore who passes on the stairway but slips on a damp patch....Rachel??!!! Seenu Before the new bloke jumps the stairs and is in the lead. This is hairy stuff, no protective gear whatsoever it could all end badly, especially if Rachel??... er hem has stopped at the foot of the stairs??Dont look back, the rest of the office are right behind you and the thought of 12 ???‍♂️??‍♀️??‍♂️??‍♀️??‍♀️?‍♂️?‍♂️??others trying to slow up let alone stop just because you fall base over apex for looking back...warned you but you dont listen....??‍♂️? Now all safely in their cars, Junior Boy has to take the bus, wonder why he rushed the bus doesnt arrive until 5.20pm?Ah ha first one home gets to post on TC...Rachel what are you doing in my car? Oil

That smell of the EP 90 is the chemical protectant to help prevent rusting/corrosion of any gears exposed from the oil over a period of time ie in storage etc.?It dont half pong too and the smell clings to your clothing.
  8. So this is Rolf Harris’s new job....can you guess what it is yet?
  9. Hmmm.... some novel ideas there for saving money and recycling?‍♀️??‍♂️. There is quite a large amount of Hypalon ??‍♂️and inflatable ??‍♀️plastic in the sea, more so than normal for the time of year. I super glue square blocks of rubber cut from discarded lorry tyres onto my smooth Dunlop Trials Universals, although the casing is a bit perished and hard....this buggers up my bunny hop?, wheelie, reverse flip??‍♀️, stoppie endo....but hey the grip? is phenominal???
  10. Most trials bikes are going to be more handy in tight muddy conditions than a trail orientated bike. You look set to go anywhere, nice bike. Fuzz may not be too excited about rear number plate, looks legal size but angles bit high. The thing you will notice blatting about on the road is that the chain tensioner and guide may wear more rapidly. ??
  11. For $100 US dollars I’ll make you some?‍??‍??
  12. Duct tape does the same job. Better name would be crap deflector, but oni nou would’nt want one of those on his wallet. Hey I thought your wallet had no openings, any money (folding type) being sewn in at manufacture. He doesnt even like letting thecsir out of his tyres let alone disturbing his wallet?
  13. ‘Like a bolt out of the blue’ The Shank of a bolt was supposed to take the shear load i.e. a swinging shackle bolt for leaf suspension. Most bike engine bolts use the shank to carry the load of the engine, the threaded portion maintains a clamping force to prevent movement in the mountings. Simples innit?‍?
  14. Rather than a few washers you could use a small piece of round bar. This would be the same o.d. as the spring. Adding a squirt of silicon sealant into the spring increase the pressure on the detent ball a tiny amount, sounds like a bodge but it can work. Best off with a new spring. Have you checked the gearbox shaft support bearings? Let us know your findings?
  15. As its a mono you are into the Gas Gas, Beta etc. etc territory and so the price to a buyer would need to reflect the better accessability to parts for the newer stuff.? Your bike looks ok from the picture but enlarging the view brings up a few visual faults some as mentioned by oni nou. If I saw your bike in the flesh and could check everything and have the bike running to make sure everything worked as it should then I’d probably be looking at making a sensible offer? but knowing the nightmares that can be lurking within those forks, crankcases, rear damper unit I’d be aimimg lower. I’ve seen one just like your’s at a low price, less than has been mentioned. Keep it and wait for the warmer weather, your health might have improved ....I seriously hope that it does.....then you can have a project to occupy your spare time??
  16. IKEA senior design tester taking a breather before resuming Stage 2 15 foot drop onto paved pathway followed by ploughed field at constant speed. Pity they dont do flat pack RTL???‍♂️
  17. Unless you happen to be using your bike near a lava flow by the coast?
  18. Thanks that saved me digging my notes out or Googling??
  19. This mod could possibly make TY 175 prices go up a tad?
  20. Exactly, thus causing detonation or in laymans terns ‘pinking’. Only needs a tiny edge of the excess carbon to become hot enough to create alternative ignition source other than the plug.
  21. Oh dear, thought there were certain chemicals in everyday use that attack Titanium!
  22. So we are all stuffed then. If you’ve just bought a new car, it will probably need a different material tank very soon....so will everyone else. Trucks use plastic tanks too! Ask yourself arecwe being forced to go electric!
  23. Ignition coils can work ok when cold but when they get hot any minor internal wiring or insulation fault will manifest itself be it in the primary or secondary winding. This usually ends up as a weakening spark.....poor high tension levels....causing misfiring and stuttering/hesitation. Vibration can cause coil breakdown along with impact damage causing internal damage to wire and insulation.
  24. Looking at the prices being asked by dealers in UK thats about right for this lovely Ariel. Not too sure about effectiveness of the skinny looking bash plate though?
