Stripped down clutch casing today to inspect the plates i took the whole side casing off and the kick start spring didnt look right is was touching the outer basket so I removed and cleaned the kick start idler gear.
The question is though when I put it back together do i have to put any tension in the spring buly winding it half a turn etc or do i just fit it straight in the hole as is?
Pic for attention
Thanks in advance
Ok thank you for your input I wouldn't know how ir where to start to get a head spacer made I did how ever put an additional base gasket of 1mm on the bike to no avail.
Can anyone tell me what size pistons you can buy for a 250cc beta rev3 i know that a size D is 72.481 but what are the others also i need to know the gudgeon pin bore aswell
does any one have a copy of the technical data page out of the owners manual.
Thanks in advance
No I haven't set the squish don't know what is meant to be?
What difference will altering the port timing make?
Where could I get the 1mm head spacer? Would a thicker base gasket give the same effect currently got a .5mm base gasket and pinking issues.
What's driving me crazy

I have a montesa 315r with a slight bend in the header pipe and it doesn't quite seal on one side when bolted on what sealant can i use on the joint where the exhaust connects to the cylinder?
Thanks in advance
Thanks for the replies everyone no it's not the chain on the frame.
I've had the bike six month or so honestly don't know which jets are in the carb I did strip and clean it when I got it I pulled the head off for an inspection and refitted with new gaskets I measured a part of the base gasket which had not been flattened using a caliper gauge which came out at .45 to which I assume is a 0.5 gasket I've been searching for weeks on the internet and read a post regarding base gaskets but that was on ktm 2stroke motox not trials so not sure if it relates or not I am a total novice when I comes to two strokes.
I changed the exhaust manifold gasket when I put back together but the header pipe doesnt sit fully in the recess could this be the problem.
Also changed all fluids wheel bearings linkage bearings
I have a montwas 315r 1999 2 stroke I'm getting a slight rattle/knock when I close the throttle (on run down) there are 4 different size base gaskets 0.3,0.5,0.75,1.0 I currently have a 0.5 on could this be the cause I'm no expert when it comes to 2 strokes any advice welcome
