  1. Haggis Whistle They are not easy to find but this is supposed to work. While mimicing the mating call beware of getting romantically involved. You know Kinell kept being delayed on the moors in the SSDT. I think he may have done just that.
  2. The last I heard from you you were sitting down to watch your copy and then I never heard back. I hope you liked it even with your wee cameo at the start.
  3. I was speaking to a gas gas rep in Fort William this year and speaking about my 09 300. He asked me if I had had any problems with the rad which I hadn't. He said that there was an issue with leaks but I dont remember it being anything to do with the fan rubbing through. IF they know about it I would imagine its a warrantee issue. They are usually pretty good about faults like this.
  4. Thanks Fred. I sent a bunch of pre packed DVD's to Mairi and she added the observers addresses to the envelopes as I don't have access to that info. I guessed she had done it but she's never come back to me so I wasn't sure if they had gone out yet. Thanks Mairi, that must have been a pain to do but hopefull it's being appreciated by the recipients.
  5. Its a shame that this topic has had over 2000 views but so few votes in the poll. The numbers look interesting at the moment but the sample quantity is too small to mean much. Come on guys and girls lets get the numbers up and give Mark some real stats to discuss. Oh and by the way. I'm coming round to the idea of staying where its and restricted parking in the west end for manufactures, traders and even some new things (its about time someone injected some more entertainment in to the carpark again). I love the idea of the school playground for spectators but not as much as closing the inside lane of the dual carriageway for the week. There's never a queue in both lanes for the north roundabout and it wouldn't need to be closed that far up anyway.
  6. In my experience a tube type tyre wont stay on the rim as well as a tubeless one without drilling and fitting a tyre clamp. It will hold pressure when its one the wheel but it wont stay on very long. Take or send it back and get a tubeless one.
  7. Sorry Steve, I've been away for a week. Did you get it working? If not just drop me a PM with your address again and I'll send you a fresh copy. John
  8. I've been thinking about this since you posted it Mark and can't make my mind up. I hate the west end car park layout and access to it. That's one of the main reasons we stay in the West End Hotel. Moving it would be very welcome but out of the town may be a step too far. It would work fine I've no doubt, but what would happen to the atmosphere? The buzz that used to exist in the paddock has slowly been lost over the last 10 years and it would be great to do something to get some of it back but I do wonder if moving out of town altogether is like admitting it's not working and giving up instead. No matter what the answer ends up being it wouldn't be the thing that stopped me coming over every year and I doubt it would change anyone else's plans. What I'm trying to say is that I don't thing it's a high risk idea and if it just didn't work you can always move back or elsewhere.
  9. Is that airbrushed? It can't be stickers can it?
  10. Beer and Ibuprofen. Beer for afterwards and Ibuprofen for the sore sides from laughing a lot. The Jake and Dougie show is comical. I did one a few years ago and really enjoyed it.
  11. I have one of me with Miss Nude Canada. OK not exactly 'riding' but a good photo none the less. I'm not sure Andy would leave it on here very long.
  12. It was comic. Matt sitting in the boot trying to hold the tail gale up against the wind and me trying to gauge the speed required to get good footage and not hold anyone up. I think he nearly fell out once and I've had to reduce the sound on the clip to cut out his swearing.
  13. I have a hardly used from new Gas Gas 50cc boy in the shed and my son has out grown it. It was very seldom used all the time weve had it and is in very good condition. Its a 2002 model and I have no idea what its worth. Anyone got any idea?
  14. Brightmix, If the gasser you rode was an 09 you I understand why you found it a bit sharp. Two things you should know. 1st: older gassers did have a softer power delivery so you should try an older one which would match your budget too and 2nd: If the bike was new or newish they do soften off with time (6 months) out of the box I've found they are all a little sharp. Well that's what I've found in my last three new gassers. Gas Gas do make a good bike no matter what you hear elsewhere. If its 2T your after then GG, Beta or Sherco are you only sensible choises. The Rev 3 bete is a good bike but different in feel to the GG and the Sherco is somewhere in between.
  15. Was it that you said both Donna & Emma smartened up well but didn't say anything complimentary about Becky?
  16. Donald, For all the work you do on TC I think you've earned a free copy. The boss is due some to but wont answer his PM or emails. Let me have you address in a PM or email and I'll get a copy off this weekend.
  17. Just ask. In no particular order. Only Happy When It Rains
  18. I think you may be OK for town hall brae but I doubt you'll get much 3G out in the hills. I'd love to be able to stream live video but without a satalite link (just imaging the size of the ruck sack) up its probably a few years away.
  19. Does anyone know who the guy fighting the giraffe in the bog on Wednesday morning is? It was great fun sitting in the sunshine (didn't happen often that week) filming guys trying to make it across that bog. If only they had taken a bit of time and seen that the flagged route for a change took them round the side of it. Most people we saw tried to straight line it. Tip for next year. If you see us filming what appears to be a boring bit of moor land have a thingk about it. It probably isn't as simple as it looks.
  20. Motomerlin Thanks for the feedback. I agree I'd like to hear the bikes to but in most cases all you can hear on the video sound track is the rushing of water and I mean nothing but loud rushing water. I will however make a better effort next year to reduce the music volume so the bikes can be heard and hopefully the weather will help too. I don't think I like the idea of removing the music altogether as it gets very boring just listening to background noise and the bikes. What does everyone else think? If you like I'd burn you a free copy without the music track for comparison. Just let me know.
  21. It should be with you soon Steve. Sent out last week air mail.

    No Clutch

No but there is a parts manual that you can get from GG UK or search the net. It usually downloadable. It doesn't tell you how to do things but it does give detailed break down diagrams. Its pretty simple on this occation. Just take the chain off then the front sprocket and in behind is the clutch slave cylinder. You should be able to follow the hose from the master to it.

    No Clutch

No its not. Well not on any I've seen. The clutch is on the right hand side but the slave cylinder is on the left right behind the main drive and the chain running off the gear on the inside soon wears through.

    No Clutch

Simon You have worn through the clutch slave cylinder housing most likely. I did this about six or seven years ago on my last pre Pro GG 250. It was difficult to see until I'd removed the chain and could see the damage. Luckily I managed to repair it by removing the cylinder and getting the damaged bit welded in. It cut through right at the back of the piston so I managed to just clean up the inside with a dremill tool. If the damage was anywhere further up the cylinder wall I wouldn't have sealed properly but it was fine. You may have to just replace the slave cylinder completely.
