  1. Got my one when I got home last night. I never doubted that we would have them before the current one expired but I do feel for those who applied in Nov/Dec and had to pay for a day licence of trials between Jan 1 and now.
  2. Contrary to BigJohn's response I've not seen my licence yet. Has anyone got thiers yet? Sue, You can't start riding. We need you to observe. Only joking, welcome to the wonderfull world of blood, sweat and tears. Remember though to always be polite to observers and never argue with them when you feel hard done by.
  3. Gordon You're right it is unlikely that you'll hear spectator saying this.
  4. I know two guys with these bikes and they both run at 1800rpm though like you said they came out of the box running faster. You cannot reduce the tick-over under 1800rom as that is the speed required to produce enough electrical power to run the fuel pump and other systems. Both these riders however have now changed the gearing through the rear sproket to slow the bike up a bit and are happier.
  5. I'm sure your 2004 licence will be acceptable (at least in Scotland) if the SACU continue having problems getting the 2005 ones out. The Calendar on the SACU site is not quite right so I'm guessing it's still being worked on.
  6. Gordon You're not the only one that's for sure I know of many including myself. I understand the SACU were having problems with the calendar that may be holding up the licences. We at the BAMCC were part of the problem with dates but that's long sorted. I think they were still working on the MX calendar too.
  7. Cota Kid Though I agree with everything else you said, Dougie cannot give 110%. Look it up if your confused. Sorry but like Andy doesn't like phone txt on here I hate the use of figures more than 100%
  8. Having not seen this one yet I can't comment but a lot of last years coverage used too many very tight shots of the bikes and you didn't get a feel for what the guy on it was trying to do. Open out a bit so we can see the bike, rider and section.
  9. I missed it. Does anyone know it its being repeated?

Dabber I'll take the energy tablets and you carry me.
  11. They are called gaerne 'pipeline' boots and I have a pair. They look a bit stupid but stay clean with just a light brush after the mud has dried. I love my pair.

    04 Pro 300

Now that me entry has been accepted for the Six Day I find myself unsure which bike to use on it. I have an 04 pro 300 which I love and a 2001 TXT 280 which I haven't used for a year. I know the TXT well and it's never been any problems at all. The only real worry I have with the pro is the gear box. I get a fairly sudden and sharp take-up of gears between third and fourth so much so that it really clunks in to gear often not messing well either during the change. Is this fairly standard or is something wrong? I'm not sure it could take a hard week of changes without starting to strip teeth. (if it hasn't started already). I change the oil regularly and there is no sign of excesive wear. The TXT would need a complete rebuild to ensure it was in top notch condition and I ride better on the pro so would like to ride it. comments please.
  15. There for we must be doing something wrong. We only got 26 to our 2nd of Jan event. What's the trick do you think?

    Ssdt Forums

Why are there two SSDT forums? The one you get to using the TC link is last years one but still seems to work. The new one can only be accessed by going to www.ssdt.org first. BTW. It looks like there is still a lot of good info on the older one so please don't get rid of it yet.

Good to see Boofont also got an entry. Time to cut out the pies and get down to some real gym work.

  19. Two of our local club member turned up with the 4T at our new year trial and I rode both. The first was running with an old 315 rear wheel as the rider thought the gear was a little high as standard and didn;t have time to get a bigger back sprocket. I rode this bike more than the other and have to say the thing was sooooo smooth. The other bike was a little high geared for my liking but other than that was also very smooth. I didn't get a go at the real sections as time was tight but I rode around a bit and did a couple of climbs on it and found it gripped well but not really any better than my Gasser which I think grips better than anything else I've ever ridden. I was working the clutch and found it a bit jerky and grabby in tight turns but never really tried without the clutch as it felt like it would stall. Now that Ishy has confirmed that it won't I'll try again at our next trial. First impression though are that its better than I expected. My mate dropped his one quite a bit and never had any problems restarting it so that looks ok. I would add though that starting from cold is a b1tch and the bike must be left to warm up on tick over before being ridden or it will stall and not restart without taking the plug out and drying it. Both owner found this to be the case.
  20. I'll second that but it was fun all the same. A kind of war time feel of everyone doing their best with what was available. Thanks to K and R2.
  21. Good Sir I think you have me mixed up with Boofont, Lossiemouth and the RAF. Maybe you don't know as much as you think about us all.
  22. It wouldn't be Ian J would it? I know it's a little left field but you never know.
  23. I've only just noticed his use of the phase "Ceud Mile F
