  1. M4RT is in the UK. Just checked his profile and it says the local time at users location is 15:30 and it's that time here in the UK.
  2. Feel free to add me to the wanted list. I have a desktop and laptop and could easliy login twice at the same time with different user names. However I think your wasting your time looking my way. I voted for BillyT straight away and very early I may add and am sticking with it still.

    Ssdt Entries

A good number for me will be anything under 270.
  4. Daft bug*ers that we are have decided to see the new year in on top of the most prominent hill in Aberdeenshire. (Bennachie's mither tap if your interested.) A wee fire, and a dram or two should see us ok though. How do others around the world see the new year in? Happy new everyone anyway.
  5. Keep and eye on this over the next few months. This is where you'll be riding if your lucky enough to get an entry. Ben Nevis Webcam
  6. My understanding of the difference in licence fee north and south of the boarder is that we in Scotland pay a single licence fee per year where as the riders in the south pay a bigger portion of the entry fee towards licencing. I could be wrong but that's what I was told a few years ago when the ACU changed their licencing.

    Markers

We use these from York Survey but they need to be considered as consumables. The wire is a little too small and they bed easily making the nice tidy bunch you get look more like a birds nest in no time. Also the flags blow off in strong winds and or get eaten by sheep if you prepare the trial well in advance. But at the price it hardly matters.
  8. Restricting won't get you inside the law. You need to reduce the capacity. If you can find a bike with a 125 engine and know there is also a 50 in the same engine design it could be done. First check that the 125 and 50 share the same stroke (which I doubt) and if they are the same you can swap the barrel and piston over to reduce the capacity. Then the fun begins. The exhaust most likely won't fit and the carb will have to be changed before you ever start to look at the gearing. Buy a 50 and be done with. Once you're old enough you can sell it and probably not loose too much and move on to a 125.
  9. Boof let me know how you get on my gasser rear wheel has a slight buckle that I'd like to tune out. Gordon Who's John at North East? (and please don't tell me it's me) yours John (in the North East)
  10. Thanks Ringo I'm afraid we don

    Rev & Go 50

Perce I'd be interested to hear what type of oil people suggest. I've always used a good motor oil (mobil 1 in my case both GG 50 and Sherco) but had a problem recently with much clutch slip on the GG. Happened all of a sudden so I don't think it's the choice of oil but I await replies with interest. I've been a little lazy recently and not opened it up to see what's wrong. My youngest is starting to get a on at me and wanting to use the bike again so I guess I'll have to do it soon.
  12. BJ I have looked in the wonderful handbook but not really found anything. The point was not that club organised practise was not allowed but that practise by a group of licence holder was not allowed and could result in the removal of he license. It the club organise practice then we always get a permit from the SACU. I'll email Johnnie and copy you on his response.
  13. Big J. Can you enlighten me on the SACU's stance on practicing. It was brought to my attention last year that if any more that two SACU licence holders go out to practice they must do so under a permit. I can't see how this works as larger groups of riders often go out and practice together. If this rule does exist I have to say I think its firstly stupid and secondly un-policable. I understand the SACU are only trying to cover themselves against unofficial events taking place without the proper insurance but there must be a sensible solution that doesn't involve organising a permit. Most riders who have never taken part in the running of a club wouldn't know how to obtain a permit anyway.
  14. Don't worry about it. If forum users find his/her comments to be on topic, helpful or in any other way intelligent they
  15. Although my name is John H. I'd like to make it clear I'm not the JonH posting this rubbish.
  16. Andy It could still work if comments had to be reviewed before inclusion. Folks could email in the reviews and you and some of your chosen few could review them for inclusion. A warning in the comment option could explain that anything other than matter of fact comment about the bike in question (i.e. not slagging other makes) will ever be concidered for inclusion. I think it could work and would be a great addition.
  17. Down Pete down. I like the idea of starting a bike review page. It could include the bike specs as supplied by the factory and a user review area a bit like all the front page articles already have. I also agree with the others above. The only way to tell which bike is best for you is listen to your mates and ride as many as you can before selecting the one that best suits your riding and pocket. They all have good and bad points and there's always stories of the unlucky few who get a bad one from any of the manufactures.

    Rear End

Is you linkage in 1st class condition? There is a lot of force in that little lot hidden under your swinging arm and if it's not in top condition huge losses will be made there. It could easily account for what you feel as a stiff unresponsive rear end.
  19. Boof I'm sure you will. They'd have cancelled if they only had one entry.
  20. Ian I think i reported the same starting problem with my new 300 pro earlier this year on TC. When I got the bike it was a B*tard to start. Down at the TC trials (first trial from new 1 day old) I stood kicking the thing for ages after each stop. Perce started it no problems but with one hell of a kick. I slowly got used to this huge kick after setting TDC and it got better but more importantly it has continued to get easier to start every time I ride it. It's almost easy now though I dread the day I have to try and start it mid section after a stall. I think the bike has loosened off a lot and my tecnique has got better. I'm not sure about the hill problems though it does sound like float level or some such but the starting should get better with time. I still love the bike. Power is great and the grip unreal.

    Tank Help!

Selling the old tank again on ebay will more than cover the cost of the tap. I'm sure you will get one for well under the
  22. Do you know Gordon I think that was a real highlight. It could be the first trial in 10 years I've not got a 5 on. Long may it last.
  23. Not good enough for any team award but I was happy with a consistent score. 13,11,12. Great trial. I hope they got to the bottom of the fish farm alarm issues though or we'll maybe never be back.
  24. How id you do Boof? I did see you all day after we set off.
  25. That's a tough one. Sunny Milan or cold rainy Alvie. More fun at Alvie but nicer in Italy.
