  1. I've used nothing but Mobil 1 for years on my bikes and found it excelent. Mobil 1 was developed for Formula 1 use first then made available to the general public. I find it reduces wear (going by the amount of metal dust collecting on the drain plug) and also gives a better clutch feel. I now run a GG pro 300 on it and it's great. On my old 95 beta the clutch used to stick if left standing for any time and sometimes during riding soon after starting. This was cured with Mobil 1. It never stuck again after the change.
  2. The helmet is road legal. It has an EU label on one of the chin straps up inside the helmet. I understand that these helmets are also ACU approved for motorsport use but you have to get the sticker from them and to do that you have to send them the helmet. This is what I was told anyway.
  3. Tim Unless you've just moved house I can't imagine the neighbours being happy with you having a truck load of large rocks delivered or you setting up arena sections on the cul-de-sac.
  4. I bet he's crap on a trials bike though.

Gary As I said to folks at the trial it was set out thinking it would be wet and as you can imagine that would have made a big difference. I think your right though having seen many sections cleaned where I thought marks would be lost I'd stiffen it up a good bit for next time. As you said yesterday there is certainly room for some really big sections on the ground. Fancy helping out organising a british round there in the future?

How did you guys enjoy it. I'm open to any comments good or bad to try and improve things for next time.

Gary The results are now on the front page. Sorry for the delay but I didn't get it finished last night until late and then couldn't update the site due to dial up problems. Boof. I've been dealing with the Bay Area Club girls since setting up the site and they are going to put a link in there for me. At least it is a bike club and not what it first appears to be.
  8. We run each class with the trial setup so that the winning score should be around 30 marks. This usually puts the bottom few riders at around 100 which is OK for a 45 section trial. I would agree with the others that a score of 40 is OK and the single figures scoring rider should move up a class. I recently moved down a class after a couple of years where I was scoring close to 200 marks per trial and it's no fun starting each section wondering how to get through without hurting yourself. Ride to enjoy it and have a beer afterwards as long as its still fun who cares what the score is. None of us (well very few) will every ride for financial or other remunitary gain.
  9. Tim The few sharks I've seen have appeared friendly and likable but looks can be deceiving. Why do you ask? I hope you're not think I'm getting in one of those cages and going down amoungst them.
  10. Ian Send me the text and photos and I'll advertise it on the clubs site. The Lumsden trial is an adult national but should have a good entry. It's a bit up the road for you but could be worth while. I'm sure Ken Whittaker or one of the local guys would take the bike up for you and display it if need be. In fact I could probably do it myself from Portlethen where I work.
  11. Dabber I'll bow out of this after stirring it up in the first place. Total respect for that cool box no arguement. WB "I thought I was think" enough said.
  12. The Montesa is a big fat ugly piece of poop and the Gasser is wonderfull.
  13. DG If I'm still here on Saturday I'll try and come along. What time does it start? I'm sorry my lovely Avitar is not with me.
  14. I'm in a hotel in Houston. Can anyone tell me where I can find the speed channel? Is it an actual channel or a program?
  15. We use 6 x 12" plastic card coloured red, blue, green and yellow. A split section starts with a normal set of start cards the main route (usually clubman route) is then marked with red cards to the right and blue to the left. When a hard route split arrives the red and blue are laid out with two green cards off to the right or left showing the start of the hard route split. The hard route then continues with green cards on both sides until the routes join again where the last green cards are placed with the red/blue to show the riders they have rejoined the main route again. The same thing is used for the easy route but yellow cards are used instead of green.
  16. Vinnie Is see you've chosen to display the graphics handling performance chart only. This is the only area where few of us would question the Mac's ability.
  17. Ringo Are you saying that Dougie took his feet off the peg on the second occation or that he touched the ground with his feet? I know you're an experianced rider and just wondered if you guys mark differently from us. Taking your feet of the pegs is fine as long as you don't touch the ground or some other object.
  18. I always use a syringe to push fluid from the caliper back to the master cylinder. Take the cap off the reservoir, loosen the bleed nipple on the caliper and push the fluid back the way until no air is seen arriving in the reservoir. This also helps as it pushes any dirt up and out of the system leaving only clean fluid. If there is dirt coming up in the reservoir finish off by using the syringe to suck it our and then refill with clean stuff. Never fails.
  19. Not so easy now Ishy. Looks more like a five from this angle. Where was the observer though?
  20. TSR22A A failure is deamed to have occured when:- The rider dismounts from the machine. Dismount will be deemed to have occurred when both of the rider's feet are on the ground at the same side of, or behind the machine
  21. Ishy You're right about what he did to get out of it. I can't see how he could without fiving but from the snap shot in time he is still on a two in my opinion.
  22. Technically he's still astride his bike by the looks of it. His feet are on different sides and the guard is still between his legs. It's a tough call but if this is at far off as he got I'd call in a good call.
  23. Good article but it's like reading one of Wonderboy's posts.
