  1. Our club the Bon Accord MCC in Aberdeen became a limited company two years ago to protect the membership from this sort of law suit. It's not as complex or costly as setting up a normal limited company a we are a none profit making organisation.
  2. We don't want to have to keep restocking and it's cheaper in bulk. Do you know if Davis have a website?
  3. I think your missing the point of JTT's answer. It sounds liek your trying to use a syringe to draw air out of the system buy pulling it back. What you need to do and I've never seen it fail is to fill the syringe and push the fluid the othr way. i.e. push fluid all the way back to the master cylinder from the bleed nipple. If your syringe is big one shot should do but if not push a few shots through closing the bleed nipple each time before you take the syringe off. Good Luck

    Carb Problems

I do but will have to leave this section and go to the Beta one. It's the Rev 3 for me. Only a matter of time now. Do you know of anyone inporting Beta's?
  5. I'm looking for a supplier of trials punch cards in the UK. I need 1500 or so, 1000 of one colour and 500 of another. Can anyone help?

    Carb Problems

How do you know the size of my little finger? I've sort of resolved the fault but not totally. I recleaned the carb and it was still not good but after a couple of thrash runs up some big hills it all of a sudden cleared. The problem now is that it sometimes just dies on tick over and is very difficult to restart.
  7. I've used Mobil 1 2T for a few years now and find it the best oil on the market. Like all Mobil 1 products it's not cheap but IMHO it's worth it.
  8. What about baby oil Monty? Not carcinogenic I hope.

    Rear Shock

Thanks Matt/Tim This explains the problem completely. I'll take the spring load off and try again.

    Rear Shock

Tim have you had the same problem? or have you looked at your bike and can see what I mean. I'm not sure an oil filter strap will provide enough bite.

    Rear Shock

It's a 2001 TXT 280. I do have spring compressors but couldn't be bothered getting them out the other night. I'll revisit it soon and give it a go but I'm not holding out much hope. The threaded sleave is turning very easily on the body so even taking the load off may not help.

    Rear Shock

The unit is off the bike and easy to hold. It's not that it's too tight its the fact that the thread which you'd think was cut in tothe body isn't it's a threaded collar that is somehow fixed to the outer body of the shock. The whole threaded collar just spins on the shock. There is no way of holding it from spinning meaning you cannot adjust it, the whole think just spins.

    Rear Shock

While renewing my suspension bearing yesterday desided to adjust the spring a little but found a problem. I managed to back off the locking nut but when I tried to adjust the spring preload I found that instead of the nut turning on the thread the whole threaded piece also turned. I tried to hold it still with a stillson but it looked like it was going to crush the whole body so did pull too hard. Has anyone else found this happens and is there a solution other than replacing the whole unit?
  14. Ron Could you email me a brief note with a little of your background on it. I want to show the experiance you have based the articles on. hirdj@camerondiv.com
  15. Thanks very much Ron. I'll start a series of entries in the next newsletter and copy you so you can see your name in print (well screen anyway).
  16. Ron These are great articles. I am trials convener for the local club and as such publish interesting information in the regular newsletters. Would you be happy to allow me to publish some of these? The readership is only around 100 but they'd be interested for sure. Obviously I'd take the credit. Only joking, I'd give you all the credit.
  17. Is it a nose stud? It could be a big zit or wart. Great paint job and trialscentral logo. Marky, how about reproducting it for anyone from here wanting the same job. How much?
  18. Blunderboy You think I'm lying and a big girl do you. Firstly I've ridden the hard route for a good number of years but have down graded for 2004 to the intermediates as the hard route was begining to hurt to much. How about we have a head to head at a Scotish trial of your choice. By the way it's ride not right.
  19. I have just read the four suspension articles that appeared on this site a while ago. I'd forgotten about them at the time and only just found them again. They are great but seem to finish before the really interesting bit starts. Springs are covered in great detail but dampers are not covered. Does anyone know who wrote the articles? I'd love to find out if there are still more to come or if I'm going to be left wanting.
  20. I know of two other Sherco that have had this problem. My son's and friends son's. Both were Y2K bikes bought about the same time. The problem was not abuse just that the tank was extemely thin just where the tap fixed on. Even light use of the tap cracked the tank. I tried hot glue but it just melted after a few days of contact with the fuel (gas or petrol you choose). I ended up using an epoxy metal glue compound and its now held for over a year though it does weep a little.
  21. Up until this year I've been riding the hard route but now the medium one. Actually I ride that ever route the bike wants to take these days. I seem to be hanging on more than controlling things.
  22. When you speak about tappered bars what exactly are you meaning? What is tappered about them?
  23. How about putting the SSDT back on the world championship.
  24. I've signed up for Dougie's Master Class on the 2nd of August. Is anyone else from here going on the same day? It would be good to put some faces to names.

    This New Fantic?

Is there any other info yet? Which engine(s) are they going to use. For a small startup company even with such a great name the engine is going to be the biggest single cost if a new one is developed. I don't imagine anything extraordanary from them as there is only so much you can still do to a trials bike that would be called new.
