    What are the major differences both technically and ridewise between the 2005 & 2006 Beta 270? I rode a 2006 over the weekend and it just felt perfect. I was wondering if it was light years ahead of the 2005 model. The reason I ask, I found a 2005 model with about 6 hrs on it for a price that I can swing. The new '06 is just out of my range. What do you think? Be honest....

    The local dealer here checked with RYP and says about $500 over the standard model. That would put it at just under $7K... if that's right its not bad for a 150 unit limited edition. I'm waiting for the next Cabestany model that has the gas tank as an integral part of the frame backbone and a linkless rear shock... Mikuni carb... kickstarter on the left... sigh... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Missing your old friend?

    Just wondering what octane gas everyone is running in their Montesa 315s. I'm considering an '04 model and wondered if 93 octane isenough or do I have to run "race gas" or ultra-high octane fuel to get good results? Your advise/opinions would be welcomed. Thanks

    Do you remember how much the swingarms were? I've seen tons of people running the lowered and setback pegs on Shercos and have heard many complaining about the stock pegs being too high. I just wondered if the lower and back pegs might be too much for some or what exactly the trade off would be? The reason I ask is that I'm either going to do some mods to my bike or get a newer Cota (2T or 4T) or maybe a newer model Beta.

    Sirhc, I've heard a lot of people talk about the lower and farther back footpegs fpr Shercos. Is this a preference thing or a a Sherco flaw. Most other bikes I have tried seem to take less efort to turn than the Sherco. Just wondered if this is a major factor? As far as the shorter swingarm goes, I agree with you. The shorter swingarm would equate to a shorter wheelbase and easier turning rig IMHO. I'm just a regular guy though....

    Where did you get the shorter swingarm and how much do they run? I have an '02 Sherco and think this mod would help it out.

    I see you didn't keep you Sherco for long. What was the problem with it? I heard they turned better than those in the past and others have said they do not. What do you think?

    What's your take on the Sherco now that you've ridden it for a while? I'm just asking because I'm thinking of trying a different brand (currently on Sherco). Thanks

    I see in your signature you have a lot of experience with Betas. What differences good and bad have you noticed between the two(Betas and Cotas)? Thanks

    I'm looking at a used Cota 315. Could anyone out there give me any advise on it's ride charachteristics/quirks? For instance; I think the GGs steer a little bit better than the Shercos, but the Shercos seem to be more reliable. Are there any traits good or bad that I should consider? Thanks
